The barrier around Claire shimmered as a ball of flames gathered in her palm.

"... Maybe this fire will help you think twice, too." Grae had already said these Sampians wouldn't listen. Still, she couldn't fault anyone for trying.

Grae to J-8, Regal Blade Elite Tiger A.
Claire to I-8, Fire on Elite Tiger A if still up, else Fire on Cat A.

Just in time for Grae to make his attack. His blade cuts deep, but not deep enough. The tiger rounds on the mercenary leader, and his claws slash open Grae's torso, leaving the mercenary leader collapsed in the dirt.

Milos winced and had to restrain himself from shouting out in an upset protest when he watched both Aurelia and Grae take heavy damage from the tigers. Biting on his lip, he hurried over to get some support; mid-twirl, he noticed the cats skulking on the top, about to take the group from the side. In a fit of courage, he yelled over.

"The Laguz...! On the hill up there, th-they're trying to attack from the side! Um- er- Prince Wolfgang! Do you think you can cut them off in that forest right there!?"

Vanessa continued to rush forwards, darting between the trees as quickly as she could. She let out a sigh of relief as she broke through the treeline, finally she could be a part of the action.

If she'd just attacked first- If she could have put herself in harm's way instead- Those thoughts came, fleeting, every time, but she knew by now there was no time for that sort of regret.

Claire forced her way forward to the front lines next to Aurelia and Raajak, and knelt quickly by Grae to tend to his wounds.

"Unlucky," she murmured. As she rose to her feet again the swirling embers around her flared, almost in invitation. "Let me draw them this time."

Joachim darts out from the trees to L6, scratches up the laguz at L7, and then cantos to M6 to clear out.

Even though she had been ready, the speed of the beast that came at her was overwhelming. Two slashes interspersed by her magic's response, the cat's claws only partially blocked by her plate, sinking into her robes and her flesh.

Claire grit her teeth, dimly noticing as Grae used part of a vulnerary on her, and pushed forward. As she drew the magic forth, she wrenched it into a tongue of flame, trying to catch the cat on the other end on the wrong foot even as it curled around the horse and healer crossing her path.

Godric heal Heledd, canto to L-8.
Grae vuln Claire.
Claire to L-9, Fire on Elite Cat D.

Heledd thanked Godric for the healing, then slinked off as she transformed. She would have grumbled to herself had that form been suitable for doing so. Did these Laguz really believe this so wholeheartedly? Of course the king had not publicized his daughter being missing, it would make him seem weak.

Clover would idly twirl her dagger in her hand as she jogged through the forest, frowning just a bit. She'd been keeping to herself ever since she saw that the Morcian Prince had been together with the Princess, and while it was simple enough to stay out of sight and out of mind when things were going well, this whole laguz attack had forced her out into the open to do her job. Not that there'd ever been any doubt that she'd step up to help out, but she really wasn't interested in being noticed by this Prince. She didn't think he'd have any idea who she was specifically, of course, but her moniker was a different story entirely.

She'd sigh a bit before looking up as she approached the exit of the woods, picking up her pace as she darted past the others and towards the flank of one of the laguz.

"Sorry, but I need to let out some stress, and you just came along at the right time, friend!"

Clover moves to J9 and attacks Elite Cat C with the Jambiya.
