No, I don't! The hood proceeded to walk away and turn into the first corner he could.

William glanced at Karin and tilted his head at the man in the hood as he retreated. She was a former town guard too, surely she found that behavior suspicious enough to investigate. If she assented, he'd forget the library plan for now and start tailing the man.

Karin looks towards the guy, then looks around, whispering under her breath to Will.
"If he IS being followed, we should try to blend in, look around to see if someone IS following him. You go ahead, I stay behind you?"

"OK. I'll... do what I can."

I'll keep an eye out behind us.

William started walking in the direction the man had went, keeping his eyes open and doing his best to not look suspicious at all. Just a person going for a stroll and definitely NOT following someone.

Karin falls in line behind William, looking around behind her shoulder every so often, to make sure nobody was in fact stalking the person they were, in fact, stalking.

That sounded better when I wasn't thinking it.

As it turns out, it was William who was following him, as when he turned the corner the hooded man, who was watching out, started running down the side street.

"Damn it...!"

William broke into a sprint after the man.

"W-wait up!"
Karin chases William in hot pursuit.

The chase took the three across various less populated streets of Rubidan, and it was obvious the man they were chasing was not very familiar with them, as he took strange directions that lead back to places they already ran through before. Despite that, William and Karin couldn't catch up, as they were even less familiar with the streets, and eventually lost the man as they went into a plaza. But they found something else, as the plaza the hooded man unintentionally led them to was the location of the first Water Fountain, shrined as a monument but still functioning.

Meanwhile, a bearded mage stepped up to the other group with an offer.

Would any of you be so kind as to help with a little experiment about luck?

Amber raised an eyebrow.

"Maybe. What kind of experiment?" Amber was always up for that kind of thing, but they were kinda busy...

"Thank you, Ace. That will save us a lot of time."
Honestly he wasn't too sure about the whole "relaxing time", but considering William and Karin already moved away it was too late for him to voice his concerns. Perhaps he was being a tad too careful, perhaps. During the moment he was pondering his attention focused on Clara, and finally he decided to break the silence again.
"So, glasses, what do you wish to achieve by roaming around with a bunch of strangers? Aside from finding the treasure, that is."
Ismo briefly glanced at the stranger and moved a hand up to prevent the Argiope from just leaping on their face.
"Really depends on what we are talking about."

It's really simple, really. All you need to do is throw this many-sided die, and I'll do the same, and whoever gets the highest result wins. I want to see how long a winning streak can be stretched.

William hesitated, torn between investigating the fountain and chasing the suspect. After a moment he let out a frustrated little sigh and turned to the structure.

"Well. I failed at being a guard for a reason."

He stepped up to the fountain and looked at it.

"I wish I remembered what turns we took to get here. I was so focused on catching that guy, and we looped around so many times, that, well..."

"...I'm completely lost."

"Don't worry. I-I think I can find our way back..."
"But maybe we should investigate the fountain b-before we go back, right?"
