"I've read many combat manuals but most of them felt theoretical - a bit impractical, or suited only for certain circumstances like tournament dueling. Her works dealt with combat situations you might actually find yourself in, so I chose to work on her forms than the ones espoused by other authors."

He looked ruefully at his sword.

"...Of course, I've had to adapt them somewhat. The Konian School is mostly focused on curved blades, not these fencing swords, but so far what I've learned has served me well as the brawl earlier indicates."
