"..." The Princess kept staring at the ceiling wordlessly.

Then, she sat up and moved her legs off the bed.

"I'm not going."

[GiglameshDespair]

Priscilla gave Johannes a confused look before turning back to the princess.
"... Your Highness?"

[Haspen]

Sophia stood up and moved toward the window, still clutching on her staves.

"Joachim is dead. He has been murdered. Someone tried to kill me - twice. A-And I'm supposed to be running off to hide in the palace again?" The Princess took a deep breath and took a step toward her two most trusted retainers.

"I'm not going back home. At least, not until I find the ones responsible for these heinous crimes. Joachim must be avenged, and I shall d-do it personally. Is that understood?"

[GiglameshDespair]

"..."
"Absolutely not, your highness."
"Joachim's death is tragic, but you can't risk your life this way. You are their target - for you to run about away from safety is just what they'd like."
"I'm sworn to keep you safe, Sophia. I can't agree to this, as your guard, your advisor - or as your friend."

There are audible steps in front of the door. The sound of light armor shaking due to its wielder's movement. The door opens slowly.

"I see you all have kept Miss Sophia safe in my absence and that you three have returned. Splendid."

"How did your visit unfold?"

The Princess' head momentarily dropped in defeat. However, after a moment of silence, she gripped on her staves harder and looked at Priscilla.

"And as my servant, y-y-you have to do what I say."

[SirAston]

"Servant...?"

The Pegasus Rider closes the door.

"I assume Her Highness has some... unique plans in how to proceed further. Something along the lines of wanting to avenge Lord Lichteisen, am I correct?"

Rowan inches one step closer to the Princess.

"In that case, Your Highness..."
"Please disclose to us Your plans. Who is the enemy? What are their numbers? Where is their last known location? How should we approach them? How many men should we hire to deal with it in a timely manner? Which noble houses are you certain we can trust? Which ones are you certain we cannot trust?"
"If you can answer all of these questions and more with utmost certainty, then we'll follow while still being able to follow Your father's order of protecting you. If you cannot, then we have a conflict."
"And you are fully aware whose order takes precedence in this case, Your Highness."

[Haspen]

The rapid-fire questions scared the Princess.

"I... I'm.. I don't... I..." She turned away, and sat on the edge of the bed. Then the tears came, and she hid her face in her hands, the staves clattering on the floor.

"Joachim!... I'm so useless!!..." Then the tears turned into a bawling of a child.

"That was....unnecessary. There were easier, less painful ways to make her understand the gravity of the situation. But....I cannot blame you for trying."
Erica, who'd been watching from the doorway the whole time, steps in, without a hint of hostility in her voice at all. She adjusts her glasses.
"Still, he is correct. We cannot act, at all, without understanding what we are up against. If you want to avenge Lord Lichteisen.....we have to know what we are aiming to fight against. Your safety is paramount, and if you want to pursue his killers, you have to understand we cannot guarantee your safety in so doing."

[Haspen]

The Princess' cry soon turned into a sniffle, and she took her hands away, her cheeks red. She wiped her face off into the sleeves of her robe.

"You're... you're right... I wanted to pursue a... a vendetta, do something to avenge, to avenge Joachim p-personally... but maybe... maybe I'm not cut for this..." One final sniffle, one final rub of the eyes, and she looked up at her guards.

"We will... we will be returning to the capital, then."

//Route C is now active!

"Did the commander mention giving us supplies or such?" Albrecht, who was silent till now, spoke up.

"Unfortunately, no. We've been given an escort of fifty men, and that's all." The Princess let out a sigh, and passed the party funds to Priscilla.

"I do not wish to trouble the commander with additional demands. Please use the funds to buy supplies for all. I don't want our group to be a burden for our escorts if we're attacked again."

[SirAston]

Rowan silently listens to what Erica says. He mumbles something to himself during so.

"em sre..."

Then Her Highness is starting to calm down and issuing orders.

"Understood, Your Highness!"
"And, if I may add, You have misunderstood me. My harsh words were not to give You the idea that You might be useless. That's humbug."
"I was simply saying that from here, You lack access to a network of information gatherers... Promising young people wandering the lands to observe their surroundings and ask questions to the people. Trustworthy men that definitely couldn't be spies even in another life."
"There's more to You than Yourself... Your Highness."

The Pegasus Rider then dusts off his clothings, just a bit.

"In any case... I shall accompany you, Priscilla. I have brought enough unrest to this room and I shall exile myself for the current hour. The rest may choose if they wish to help with spending our funds or wish to protect and keep an eye out on Her Highness."

[Haspen]

"I will stay to guard the Princess as well." Sophia let out a sigh.

"As you wish... myself, I will lay down and rest a while longer."

[GiglameshDespair]

"Very well, your Highness. Please rest well."

"...I'll stay here with you, for now."

Johannes: Stay with Sophia and do not head to the shop.

[Haspen]

Albrecht nodded, whilst Sophia sighed and laid down on the bed. This time however, she turned onto her side, probably intending to take a nap.

The others had plenty of time to search for open shops and buy things!
