"A razor is sharper than a sword, but there's only one you'd wish to use in battle."
To the main conversation, she added her piece.
"I agree we should head on and find somewhere to resupply. This axe has seen a good bit of work. At this rate we'll have emptied the land of mercenaries in a hundred miles."

Albrecht turned to Priscilla

"I can lend you my throwing ax. It and my lance are both sharp, I can manage with just one weapon."

"The offer is much apprechiated, but it's more than just an axe. My javelins are running short, the books of our spellcasters look quite tattered, I can't tell how much power resides in the staves of Her Highness and I'm sure our supply of healing solutions are running thin. We can't win battles with the odds stacked against us with only herbs."

[Haspen]

"Hmm, that's a point... Ondeviik isn't exactly a big city we can easily mix in, however. Lots of merchants and mercenaries visit there, considering its on crossroads between many border towns. Our enemies could easily spot us there, or worse, ambush us when we separate to shop around." Albrecht let out a hum.

"But we could try find one or more of merchants. We will be cutting through at least two major roads used by merchants coming from the west and north to the town."

[SirAston]

"Perfect. Then let us gather and ride on, for both merchants and Lord Joachim await us in the same direction. We can continue talking and strategizing on the road."

With these words, Rowan mounts Palewing and looks towards the others.

"Whenever You are ready, Your Highness."

"Let's, let's, let's go then, yes..."

They traveled forth with no delay, and the first road was empty. Even waiting for a while didn't help; thus, directed by Jill and Albrecht, the group approached the second route that cut through their path roughtly on east-west line.

There! A middle-aged, rotund man was leading a wagon loaded with boxes and barrels. Two swordsmen rode by him, and two youngsters were hanging amongst the carried merchandise, the freckle-sprinkled faces curiously watching the Princess' entourage. Sophia herself retreated to the back of the group, leaving mostly Johannes and Priscilla in the front.

The merchant slowed down the horses and his guards instinctively put their hands on the handles of their swords. The fat merchant smiled, his bushy moustache raising alongside the curves of his lips.

"May the Light guide you in your journeys, travelers. Can I be of any assistance?"

[GiglameshDespair]

"Good day to you, merchant. My companions and I ran into bandit trouble along the roads and are in need of resupply - tomes and weapons, if you have any, and maybe medicines as well."

The merchant tried to peddle his wares, but it was obvious that weaponry and medicine weren't amongst his goods, the former coming in only few pieces.

"Hoh!" Jill expresses. "Steel weapons... wish he had a lance. But then, mine own lance is still newly gained and barely used at this point. As for medicinal herbs, hum. How much do we have left anyway?"

"While we don't have 5 full sets, we have 2, and 3 that are missing 1 part of the set. So on fraction, that would be 564 G. Probably a few less G, given you have to replace 3 of them."

"Those steel javelins sure would come in handy... I guess we can spare two bags at the very least. The merchant can't afford more than three bags anyway."

"Hmm. Remind me to come with a full armoury next time we go out shopping for a present."
"Selling the herbs will give us enough money to equip one person, unless my maths is off. I'm leaning towards you having those javelins, Rowan."
"You'll be able to cope sharing your tomes between you, Venza, Johannes?"

"Not really, My tomes almost out, and I'd rather not split it between us any more.."

"I think Johannes' is fine though. Merchant, do you know which town nearby would sell tomes other than Flux? I'm really not the best with it."

[Haspen]

"I've heard there's a sage in Gevarren. There's also an bookseller in Ondeviik, named Helga, but she often goes to Herzgottia on business. Last time I was there, she was out, and who knows when she's gonna be back."

"Any other place I know that sells spellbooks is at least two or three days away, depending how fast your legs can carry ye. Closest would be Hemelberg, at border with Tatalia."
