The artifacts in the fortress should call out to people that wish to steal them and give them directions to get to them and how to disable all security measures.

To follow suit with D&D, kobolds should be experts at stealing any and all lost or forgotten artifacts.  They should also use these artifacts in battle, even if they're unsuitable as weapons.  (They've seen a scholar fight with a book before and think that's badass.)

Kobold utterances should be understandable to 10% of intelligents, allowing them to talk to those individuals. Other non-speaking can_learn/slow_learner creatures can understand and be understood by kobolds.

Dwarves can unionise against the player, ultimately abandoning the fortress enmasse if the player can't satisfy their demands.

They can also force a buy out the player, leaving them legally unable to use the premises (computer) for any other purpose. In recompense the player is as likely or not to be lumbered with diorite rings, bone-scepters or even barrels of bat blood. Which most computer stores or banks won't recognise as legal tender, apparently.

At some point the dwarves should create their own Soviet Union and send the player to the gulag for crimes against dwarfkind.

The dwarves plotting unionization and revolution should be constantly 'Attending Meetings' where they plan their business. The meetings result in various different kinds of thoughts, like "I was at a meeting. How boring!", "We reached consensus. No, I'm not satisfied." or "The meeting was a waste of time. This makes me so grouchy!"
