Trees, allies of the hippies, always try to fall in the direction with the most dwarves. Unless they are set to explode by birds that is.

Not sure if this has been suggested before: Adamantine Colosus.

Like a bronze colossus, but made of adamantine.

Tired of how hard it is to embark on glaciers?  Ice and snow tiles now grow ice trees, which can be chopped down to yield ice logs.  These can be used to make anything for which wood is a viable material, but will melt if heated above freezing, unless they've been crafted into something.  Snow can also be tilled and planted with above-ground seeds.
Fun side-effect of this: frozen forest retreats populated by ice-elves.

This, but for oceans. Oceans now grow trees and plants made from water (but that you can still shape into solid objects, despite their being liquid water; said objects act like solids). Furthermore, oceans can be tilled. Waves are especially good for tilling, and give a +5% bonus to plant yield and a -5% bonus to plant growth time. The catch is that waves are hard to pin down, being waves.

that actually sounds pretty fun. I wonder what a joyous-wilds ice forest biome would be like? Ice-unicorns?

Would ice elves be different than their forest elf cousin? ooh, maybe there another evil civ type other than goblins that are based in ice biome, white-walker style or something.

Not sure if this has been suggested before: Adamantine Colosus.

Like a bronze colossus, but made of adamantine.
It yields an adamantine statue, on the off chance you manage to kill it.  Valuable, but can't be melted down, so it's basically an ornament made of blue styrofoam.

Actually, that's an interesting point: as light as cotton candy is, would these beasts float on water?  Could a wrestler chuck them through the air?  And where would they spawn?  Logic dictates they spawn near the magma sea, but this isn't the place for logic, so I'm gonna say they spawn wherever they feel like it and randomly level the odd village.

Actually, that's also an interesting point: collosi fight with punches and kicks, which are blunt damage.  As useless as adamantine hammers are, these things might hit like a giant wearing Socker Boppers.

Maybe a silver colossus would be better.

Lead colossus. Trudges through solid stone as if it were waist-deep mud.

There's pitchblende[1], but it isn't (unless it's been modded?) an ore from which you can smelt element-92.

I remember Adventuring and finding a castle (in an early version that such a thing was suddenly a thing in) built of pitchblende.

Anyway, given that, my (terrible) idea is that lethal radiation sickness should be a thing if around pitchblende (or even deep in granite for long enough). Plus lead-poisoning from galena, dementia/funny-coloured hair from chronic aluminium poisoning and pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis from... excessive crafting of rock book bindings.

Dwarves should be able to eat pitchblende, and make clothing out of asbestos fibers.

Dwarves that make clothing from asbestos have a cumulative 10% chance per year to suffer from lung cancer, or have already existing lung cancer worsened. The primary effect of said lung cancer is to make the affected dwarf tantrum once every five days regardless of personality and stress level. Have !!FUN!!

On the other hand asbestos clothing gives fire-proofedness (and limited magmaprooficity) according to layer and coverage rules. Asbestos socks will (partially) protect feet, but not legs, and not that single leather !!High Boot!!.

(That heroic subway guard in the film Volcano could have benefitted from this, maybe.)

Counts as a cloth MAT, for clothesmakint/crafting purposes. The related syndrome applies with increasing proximity to the mouth (particularly efficate for veils). Does not prevent a degree of dehydration.
