This flying vermin shall be known as Fairies or Wisps, fairies being humanoid and winged while wisps are floating spheres, both are bioluminescent and fairies and wisps will attack each other when close by, causing the elves involved to attack each other too, mistaking each other to be evil when in fact, wisps and fairies prey on each other, wisps stealing and eating fairy eggs while fairies absorb young wisps for their magic. Of course they attack the adult forms of their predators(prey) so their young don’t get attacked
((I wonder if such a relationship exists IRL, adults of one species attacking the other species’ young and vica versa, probably not though, such a cycle would eventually bring both to extinction)) however in Dwarf Fortress, every time a spell is cast, there is a 50% chance of a fairy or a wisp spawning, a side effect of this is lone fairies or wisps being found near undead, attacking them since the undead cannot use spells, and therefore cannot help create more of them. A result of how they are born, involves young wisps and fairy eggs all over some zombies. If they were made at the same time, they’d grow up/hatch simultaneously or near simultaneously thus none are eaten/absorbed, since fairies cannot eat adult wisps and wisps cannot eat adult fairies. Another result of being born from magic is that they will not directly attack any necromancers directly

I mean fairies are already a thing in DF, they don't harass elves AFAIK though.

Well they would start to, and start killing wisps, which would be a new addition to the game

Wisps would also give random people spells that destroy all creatures on the planet except the caster.

Some creatures have scales. Their descriptions should mention which scales, and where on the scale they are.

The game should track and simulate every hair on every dwarf.

If a dwarf doesn't comb their hair, the individual hairs get slowly intertwined and when enough individual hairs are knotted the dwarf will have dreadlocks in their description. Trying to unravel the knots causes pain to the dwarves, and if another dwarf is opening the knots the dwarf with the dreads might punch the other as a pain caused reflex -- much like an animal that is being gelded.

uh so do the scales overlap a lot? Why are animals standing on others’ scales?

oh those scales, I thought you meant more creatures have scales like reptile scales and the description would say where each scale was and what color each individual scale is

Stairs are one-way, so dwarves can only go up an up stair, never down, like an escalator (and the opposite limitation for down stairs). Not sure how you’ll reach the top and bottom of properly built stairs. Guess you’ll have to use a ramp.

Up/Down stairs…those exist unless they were removed from the game

Stairs actually behave like escalators and force dwarves in the respective direction. Up/Down stairs flip a coin to decide which way they go.

When any creature tries to use stairs, the stairs will move in their respective direction, without the creature, and overwrite any tile in the corresponding direction except for other stairs.
