"Hrm, these guys are no slouches," Minerva thought. "Looks like this battle is going to be a lot tougher than we thought. Nothing we can't handle though."

Picking up her radio, Minerva tuned into her squads' frequency, "Looks like we've been found. However, their guns are pointing toward our comrades in the sandstorm, meaning that they're not aiming at us instead. Now, here's what we going to do:"

Tactical Team Owl will lay down suppressive fire on the defenders with their weapons guns.
Assault Team Peregrine will use the heavy machine guns to help suppress the enemy while their other teammates get within range to use their grenade launchers.
Recon Team Raven will begin picking off the snipers and artillery crews.
Apollo will use his anti-tank rifle to blind and attempt to disable the spider alchamech.

Try to check inside buildings that seem uninhabited, and make note to myself of their contents. If I see loose file, check them briefly and look for less-loose files, taking any that look particularly important. Hopefully, after that I’ll have whatever information I may want to bring back to base.

Alert - Teammate in Danger - Alert
Smoke bombs around the area my ally is presently in, so as to make it easier for them to evade their attacks. Acid bombs on the enemy Alchamech’s missile ports to disable them. Swords and crossbow to take out the snipers quietly.

Jamison sighs. "The fucking wind." He growls before looking towards the wall. "I didnt expect to be such an effective distraction. You don't have any long-range options, right? We should probably run faster."

If maintaining the sandstorm would help with making us harder to hit and wouldn't interfere with his following actions, Jamison keeps it going. Otherwise, he allows the sand to spin out the rest of its momentum and fall.

Plan B: Blinded By the Light
Jamison launches the brightest laser he can from his zone, possibly by magnifying the already available sunlight, in a cone ahead of them covering the base from their angle. Infrared, visible, ultraviolet light, and whatever other effective wavelengths he can throw at them The intent is to blind any optical/light-based sensors the enemy may have, and the troops themselves, although he would be averse to also damaging them with the non-visible light. Following that, he will be focused solely on defense, using his magnetic field to catch, block, or deflect the attacks of the enemies (bonus points if he can manage to fling the attacks back at the enemies) and using his light-bending abilities to refract the light hitting himself and Fallen Savior to make their position appear somewhere else. He will continue approaching the base, at full speed since he's been discovered, and lift himself (and Fallen Savior if they don't jump it) over the walls and into the base when close enough.

I just remembered this exists.

push forward, and attempt to teleport in a random forward direction to “vanish” from their view. If i get within range after teleporting, return fire!

Undeterred by the bullets whizzing around your head, you charge towards the enemy lines. As foretold by your alchemech, multiple explosions engulf your previous position. Her second warning proves just as true, as the wild fire occasionally finds its mark doing structural damage to the poor machine.

Surging forward thanks to the teleportation core's boost, you find yourself in range of the enemy formation. In retaliation for the new bullet-holes, you hit back with the Splattercannon. Quite in its element against light infantry, it crashes into a sandbag splashing over the defenses. You hear screaming on the other side, but there are many, many more where that came from. At this range, the infantry alone could likely do significant damage with sustained rifle fire, and the heavy machine guns in the nest have yet to show their hand. The enemy cannon continues waiting for you to stand still enough to blow up, if you're damaged enough to slow down it could be a death sentence.

Whoop, allow me to edit my post then.

Your guns respond the instant the enemy's do. Soon the front of the enemy formation is covered in sparks. As expected, the enemy defenses are significant. The heavy machine guns cause little more than scratches, dents, and the before mentioned sparks at this distance. You could likely cause more damaged with a more focused fire, had that been your goal. Hidden behind the wall, it is hard to observe the primary effects of your suppressive fire on the enemy. As expected, the rifle fire manages less damage while retaining much of the suppressing element.

Peregrine has the dubious honer of approaching enemy fortifications under the cover fire, without any of their own cover for defense. It looks like most of the enemie's anti-infantry might remains focused on those directly in front of the base, allowing them to make reasonable distance despite the adverse conditions.

Raven has perhaps a more difficult, if less dangerous, job. Enemy fortifications mean their only viable targets are tiny gun ports, leading to few successful hits despite the skills of your men. The enemy has yet to release mortars. They either are relying on the alchemech for artillery, or are focusing on the targets that are too close to use them efficiently. Either way they are behind a steel wall, it would be hard to take anyone out with direct fire.

Speaking of direct fire, much closer to the walls we have a Purified getting shot at. Your cone of light shines across the fortifications, looking much like light directed by a mirror, but it seems to do little to slow them down. Especially the spider. Its probable this is because they where focusing on your immediate area, not seeing individual targets through the sandstorm, and thus are only pointing their guns in your vague direction and pulling the trigger. Time will tell if any where blinded, and for how long.

Bullets fly into the sandstorm. Lots of bullets, some from the spider some from the infantry. Lower caliber rounds are deflected by his magnetic shield, but he finds himself having to move out of their way much more often than he'd like. By some miracle he manages to stay unharmed for several seconds, the wild fire eating up all his attention as he dances through the sandstorm while bullets buzz by left right and center. Any kind of counter attack would be unthinkable, the slightest distraction could mean the end of his life.

Kirstaan is having even more trouble with the incoming fire. His reflexes allow for limited defenses, but unlike his magnetic friend the sandstorm is working against his favor. He relies on his eyes to see, rather than some fancy magnetosphere - he has little time to react to incoming fire compared to usual. If this keeps up he may fall here (convenient enough since his player disappeared!)

The spider's endless assault pauses only briefly as a large hole appears in its small body, not stopping as a second joins next to it. First obvious weakpoint yielded little results. The anti-mech mech seems to be aiming at the infantry off in the distance with its cannon.

EVADE! DOWN FAST, THEN STRAIGHT LEFT.

Thanks to your enchanted senses, you manage to dive just out of the way of the incoming projectiles. Meters to spare. You are hardly out of the woods-a second salvo follows soon after. The tactic this time seems to be different, the pattern is firing off smaller groups of around four missiles in each salvo, spreading out to different locations. The eyestocks are raising once again above their wall, and a series of smoke grenades are trailing behind them partially-hidden by the missiles' own smoke trails.

This is a fairly hard mission, as the "area" is "the sky, sniper distance away". You send some timed shots to put up some smoke between your ally and the enemy, as the closest thing you can manage with your current equipment.

The second part is a much easier target. Well the first part of the second part is much easier! The unsaid "And don't get caught" becomes the difficult factor. You fire at the missile ports, managing to cover one in acid before the machine reacts. Said reaction is extending its many, many eyes in your direction! They snake out many meters, going over and around buildings as they layout a wide-area search. At least three are headed to your current location.

Try to cover just everything in smoke bombs, blinking around to confuse the eyestalks’ understanding of where I am and cutting any that get too close to me. And continue acting to disable the enemy mech.

Defense in audacity, fly up and then fly straight at the enemy alchemech before pulling up at the last second. Idea being to draw the missiles in to hit and kill the mech that launched them.

then don’t give them that chance. press up against the walls of the defences ASAP and try to teleport into one of the gun nests to deal some damage! worst comes to worst, I’ll bail and start picking off enemies with my pistol until the cavelry arrives and I can patch my mech up, or die trying.

(The bold text in Minerva and the Sergeants' dialogue are the actions I want to take this round.)

Minerva blinked when the anti-mech alchamech fired upon her soldiers with its main cannon. Though such a weapon is one of the worst weapons to use against something as small as a foot soldier, it can devastate entire unit particularly if it has access to high explosive shells. As much as she hated to admit it, it was currently the greatest threat to her soldiers. Oh how she wished for some long ranged armaments.

"Apollo, your new order is to take out that AT alchamech," she said to her Alreona as she peered at the aforementioned mech through her binoculars. "I will spot for any possible weak points while you take the shot."

"Sure thing, mom," Apollo said as he chambered another AT round.

Instinctively ducking as another round kicked up a fountain of dirt near her squad, Sgt. Alice squinted her eyes at the fortress, noticing that many of Tactical Squad Owl's suppressive shots veered away from the gun ports. "Gunners, focus more of those shots into the gunports! I don't want those bastards getting any more reprieve! Riflemen, split into two groups and advance with Assault Squad Peregrin. Give them some support using the fire and movement tactic!"

Ahead of the tactical squad, the assault squad continued to push toward the fortification under covering fire. Though the enemy seemed to be suppressed, there was no way that Sgt. Maurice is going to take a chance. Shields up, lads!" the sergeant yelled over the din of combat. Looking over his shoulders, Maurice noticed that Alice was sending the riflemen over to support his squad. With a grunt, he continued, "Double time! Until we get within range to use the grenade launchers, we must draw the enemy's fire! Let do it! Hurrah!"

Sgt. Henri of Recon Team Raven shook his head at his squad's limited success. He then raised an eyebrow when he noticed that the machine gunners of Tactical Squad Owl were focusing more of their shots into the gunports. Though this would more likely kill more enemy soldiers, it could leave other gunports unmolested, allowing for possible retaliation. Well it seems that the task of screening for these threats fall on him.

"Snipers, screen any gunports the machine gunners aren't shooting at. The rest of you, scout for any kinks in their defenses. That is all," he simply said.

((Sorry, I thought I had posted a thing last month.))

Deciding that this was as good of a distraction as any, Jamison decided to keep it going. He focuses his attention solely on surviving and keeping Kirstaan alive, actively increasing the strength of his magnetic field as he continued dancing to dodge any bullets that made it through. Taking advantage of the sandstorm to obscure his actions, iron sand flowed from pockets in his torso armor to form a cloud around him, magnetized to condense and compress itself to slow down or repel any bullets that he wouldn't be able to dodge.
