Jamison grabs a hands-free radio and then heads out in roughly the same direction as the officer's squads (the southern part of the western conflict). He figures that if they are hunting Castle, it will only be a matter of time before he has a shot at Rook.

Moving as one unit, the second group marches off into battle. Or at least into scouting. Their journey is much less swift and pleasant, having been left to walk rather the desert rather than taking an agility-focused alchhamech. Fortunately the infantrymen had been stocking up on desert supplies in anticipation of this trip. No fancy alchemical equipment, just weather appropriate uniforms and a lot of hydration. Jameson is able to block some of the direct sunlight off himself, making him perhaps the most comfortable of this merry band, but still must contend with the hot air and sand occasionally blowing in his face. For mundane infantrymen, they make it south in impressive time. Both purified stick with the group, though they could likely have outpaced them if they put forth the effort.

They are rewarded for this hardship with the sight of an enemy base in their scopes. As in the last case, Dragon has clearly been making good use of her alchemist troops. Slanted metal walls surround the base, with hundreds of softly growing runes lining the defenses. Adding in the gunports at evenly spaced intervals and the overall effect makes the base itself look like a reasonably sized alchemech. Towering over the walls is several actual alchemechs, one eight-legged arachnoid with a handful of rotary cannons in place of its "eyes" and a relatively small main body compared to its impressively sized legs. Next to it was a brick of an alchemech, stylized humanoid with blocky features around a story high. It was equipped with an equally blocky anti-mech cannon, making a well-rounded pair.

One of the more experienced men noted that there is no visible facility large enough to house either of those guardians. It is likely that either there is a significant underground portion to this base, or this camp is in range of a larger base that often trades patrols. Only an idiot or someone who is desperate would leave a mech lying in the open without its pilot, or with its pilot sleeping in the cockpit. From what we know they arn't idiots, and they are clearly well prepared, so those monsters must rest someplace safe and switch out for new guardians at regular intervals.

As for cover? No natural. Flat desert all around the facility. An Alchemist could throw something up, but they have chosen a very defensive position.

I go for the northrn flank of the western conflict, Just in case someone or something tries to sneak around.

Once again, a quick and comparatively comfortable journey goes to the person in a swift machine. Naturally the distance is a fair bit longer, so the pair run into a camp in between the foot soldiers and the first scouting mech. They tend to sink into the sand very little, thanks to their comparatively light weight, and the teleportation core allows them to make very good time.

Finally, someone from our group runs into a camp that looks like it could have been built by mundane means. A classical trench line, complete with barbed-wire, sandbags, and a handful of concrete bunkers making the camp look like a real war-zone. Certainly, alchemists worked hard to keep the dug-out pits in place, and likely fortified the defenses just as much as the other bases. Alert infantry can be found all along the line, manning heavy machine gun nests in addition to their hand-held weaponry. Light alchemech support can be found can be found sporadically along the line, you spot three suits of power-armor and a twelve-foot tall four-legged cannon-totting mech even from this distance.

(Sorry for somehow forgetting to make a response to this last turn ._.)

Check around the perimeter of the base, looking for gaps to get in through. Make full use of my Blink abilities; in fact, don't actually move at all, just use Blinks. Something that "isn't moving" is less likely to be seen by something that is. Nevermind that stuff, that won't work. "Don't-notice-me" field is not that strong. Let's just try to make this quick. Hopefully my speed will make it so that by the time I might be noticed, I'm already gone.

If I see a good way in, take it.

patience is key for breaching defences. observe the guard shifts, then attempt to get behind enemy lines during the change of the guard. Be ready to abort this plan if they start making an agressive move towards our base or get called in by Minerva to deal with a threat.

Jamison observes the base from a distance before speaking into his helmet radio. "Right then. This looks interesting. Minerva, it's your call since you're technically the highest ranking. However, since your squads are the least durable, no offense folks, maybe I should take a shot at this first. If we want to just catch Dragon's attention, I might be able to charge something up to destroy the place, though they might as come to investigate the energy fluctuations while I charge. Or maybe I could try to sneak in by bending the light around me. I doubt it would be perfect camouflage, but I might also be able to whip up a dust devil to cover me too. Once I'm in, I should be able to cause a distraction. I'm a bit worried about the defenses on the wall though, since I don't know what they do or if they react to proximity. And no, I can't cover your squads. Well, I probably could if they huddled up, but a squad-sized distortion would be much easier to notice out here than one the size of a person."

After her recon squad reported the situation to her, Minerva ordered her other squads to rendezvous with they outside the compound. After hearing the reports of the wall being slanted, Minerva decided to equip her squads with grappeling hooks and ropes. However, the runes decorating the wall would be to be test to make sure they don't have any anti-infantry properties. Lying in wait alongside her soldiers, Minerva clicked her teeth, observing the defenses. Without a proper course of action, her squishier troops will get mowed down like wheat before the scythe. Her previous judgment was correct; this will be their toughest assignment yet.

Her radio squawked to life and Jamison's voice came in, telling her of his plan. Listening, Minerva made a note of the plans of her other comrades. To the best of her knowledge, it seems that most if not all of them are waiting until there's an opening, usually when the guards are distracted or inattentive in some way. Therefore, timing is key.

"I hear you, Harbinger," Minerva replied. "Now, here's the plan: we will wait for the guards to change shifts. This will allow you to slip through unseen. Once you're inside the installation, do your stuff. I strongly recommend that you start at the defenses near my squads' location if at all possible, at least until my assault squad gets within range to use their grenade launchers. Once I tell you to clear out, make sure you are at a safe distance while we unleash hell and divide up the enemy's attention, allowing Fallen Savior to blindside them. Once my soldiers have neutralized the defenders and scaled the walls, we will provide fire support. This fortress is bristling with too much hardware to accommodate something of this size so expect enemy reinforcements from elsewhere as soon as we kick the hornets' nest. Now, let's crack this shell open!"

Wait until Harbinger distract the defender before sending Assault Squad Peregrine to neutralize the strongest defenses using grenade launchers. Support them with the snipers of Recon Squad Raven and riflemen of Tactical Squad Owl. Neutralize the alchamech with anti-tank rifle fire and anti-tank grenades while Apollo will help take out the spider alchamech with well placed shots through its weak points. The squads will scale the wall once it is safe enough to do so.

If I see a good way in, take it.

No gaps. The only entrance is a single retractable gate, just as solid as the rest of the facility. However, the wall is shorter than your teleporter's range. As such you should be capable of entering from any angle. Every section is equally vulnerable (or rather, equally defensible), so long as you don't mind a long drop or contending with the razorwire.

From your synchronized minds, you retrieve a tactical reminder. In this terrain, you'll kick up your own personal sandstorm at top speed. And not the kind that would keep you from being noticed.

patience is key for breaching defences. observe the guard shifts, then attempt to get behind enemy lines during the change of the guard. Be ready to abort this plan if they start making an agressive move towards our base or get called in by Minerva to deal with a threat.

You wait. The guards don't make any significant movement of any kind, save for a few who go around insuring the entire group is properly hydrated. Most simply scan the surround area vigilantly, though it doesn't look as if any had noticed you as of yet. They don't appear poised to strike. Hours tick by, around three and-a-half from your position the changing of the guard finally arrives. Yet this isn't the opportunity you had hoped it would be- in sections, the new guards came in while the old ones left moments later. You didn't have a chance to even get close. New faces and sets of power armor are now on the front lines. Either everyone is on edge due to being so close to the frontlines, or the guard was very eager to get out of the sun, as there didn't appear to be any significant conversation between the groups or the idle guards.

The new guards are just as alert as those before them, just as well armed, and just as well positioned. If anything they look more refreshed.

Head towards the center of enemy activity

You arrive at the middle enemy base, a good distance behind Octavian and Sigma thanks to their agile machine outpacing you by a fair amount. The journey for you was midling, you where able to complete it swiftly but the sun is warming many of your mechanically bits making the surrounding flesh uncomfortably hot. Your vision is full of heat haze in the far distance, though it doesn't seem to obscure much other than the empty sea of sand.

You see the exosuited pilot examining the base.

Stay back, away from the base. I'm not the most subtle of fighters, so I should wait until someone gets spotted to move in.

Jamison observes the base from a distance before speaking into his helmet radio. "Right then. This looks interesting. Minerva, it's your call since you're technically the highest ranking. darn. well, if time still allows, attempt to breach their perimeter after roughly an hour. try to keep the breach quiet if possible, but if they spot me then i’ll just have to so what I do best: cause chaos. the backup plan is to create a breach in their perimeter by destroying any emplacements or suseptible fortifications in order to draw reinforcements to this location, then retreating before they can bring down a full response on my head. hopefully by doing that, it will draw away soldiers from other bases in order to investigate or re-fortify.
