A whole race ascending to the status of a divine... It would be awesome to have actual living Dwemer on the next Elder Scrolls game, I mean, there could be a few scattered around somewhere... Exploring their history would be EPIC

Well, I mean, there was one left over for certain... You can meet him in Morrowind. I forget the exact reason why he wasn't poofed as well, or even if he knows himself, but of the few answers he can give as to their culture and science, well... He's not entirely willing to tell you all of them.

They're still technically one of the elven races, there's a certain Annoying Little Shit quota that needs to be filled, after all.

Imagine playing as a Dwemer? Which attributes and bonuses do you think It would give?

Are you telling me elder scrolls "dwarves" are elves!? Also: According to some quest in skyrim, orcs are also descended from dwemer....

They are elves. Orcs are not descendants from dwemer. The quest you mentioned states rather clearly that you need dwemer blood to open a special lock... except you can't find any dwemer, so you need to take blood from every type of elf in the region (and yes, orcs are elves) to fool the lock.

There are no DWARVES in Skyrim. What we have is an elven race that was called, dwarf, or "the deep ones" because they often lived underground and everything

Yep. The -mer suffix indicates that it is one of the races of elves (or, technically, "the elder races"), and are supposedly all originally descended from the Aldmer (the "first elves").

This includes the Altmer (high elves), Bosmer (wood elves), Chimer/Dunmer (dark elves), Falmer (snow elves), Maormer (sea elves), Orsimer (orcs, who are special in that Malacath got "involved" in their creation), Dwemer (dwarves, supposedly called such because they were the first smaller humanoids the native giants of Skyrim met, and so they were named due to the size difference between them and the giants), and... Ayleid.

Why are the Ayleid not called something-mer? Because they're fucking Ayleids, that's why.

There are also the Lefthanded Elves, who were from Yokuda before they got killed by the Redguards. Khajiit are also technically elves, originating from proto-bosmer that Azura reshaped. Finally bretons are technically elves by virtue of being half-elves (manmer).

It's a lot of fucking elves.

The one Dwemer who didn't get poofed when Kagrenac hit the heart with his fancy-schmancy tools o' world-breaking is the one who was still infected with whatever the horrible plague (Daedric in origin IIRC) was, thus binding him to the Daedric Lord who created it and making it impossible for him to pass on with the Dwemer.

In fact IIRC he didn't get himself cured of that plague specifically because it made him IMMORTAL even if it also made him disgusting and possibly in perpetual pain.

Not quite. Yargum Bagarn was out somewhere (not in Nirn) and was thus not bound. His plague is just Corpus, Dagoth Ur's disease/immortality blessing.

Actually, wait... If Khajiit are descended from proto-Bosmer, and Bosmer can charm/control animals, tjhat means...

Recently I started playing Warcraft III once more (The Announcement of Warcraft III Reforged re-lighted my fire). And now I'm thinking, which mages would win? Warcraft III mages? Say, someone like Jaina Proudmoore, Khadgar or Medhiv vs The Mages of The School of Magic, or Farengar. Who would win?

Tamriel's Mages Guild is filled with babies. But in Skyrim/Summerset mages exist like Ancano who can take two looks at artifacts like the Eye of Magnus and be like oh, this is how this works. No prob.

Also the Psijic Order could probably stomp anything in Warcraft to pieces in a magic duel.
