I was thinking black and grey. Our primary element is Water, whose colour is black. And we may be able to do some interesting stuff with Shadow, which I'm going to assume is grey.
However, I'd like to see the outcome of this turn's investigations and experiment before locking in to a flag.

The path of Shadow seals away, terrifying those who look into it too deeply with power from beyond. Shadow is the ultimate domain of the night. The darkness of water gains a metallic shine under the sway of Shadow.

New System Discovered: Chanting
Chanting is the skill of transferring the elemental mana from a Rune into the body via the medium of the air. Storing the breath this way allows the Chanter to lace magic into their speech, exhaling the stored elements in a physical form.

Secret Discovered: Records
With insight into the existence of Chanting we gain a new understanding of Alchemy. We have deduced that it is possible to create a concentrated elemental mixture that can be used to record a chanters words, storing them in a manner that they can later draw upon.

Secret Discovered: Elemental Distillation
Air and Water seem to be harmoniously linked, it is possible that use of the right Words will allow a Chanter to Speak over the Alchemical ritual, creating a distillation of Air and Water.

In which the meanings are (remember that our ultimate enemy, the one who put us on this island, is the Glorious Star nation):
-Grey circle=moon, as opposed to star. Also grey is (for the sake of this flag) the colour of shadow.
-Black field=starless sky, representing our mission to wipe the Glorious Star off the map (eventually, once we've dealt with our immediate neighbours). Also, black is the colour of water, our primary element.
-Spears=strength, specifically strength against charges, representing that we will stand strong against whatever the world throws at us.

New Chant Discovered: Ward(Wood), Form(Air), Attack(Shadow) - Reinforcement of Cutting
This chant grants a target enhanced ability to cut. This supernatural sharpness can render a punch capable of stabbing holes in an enemy. Wielding an already sharp blade such an individual could cut through armour. Each use of the chant lasts for the duration of a battle.

We do not believe the new chant is elementally compatible with any of our existing Alchemy recipes for the purpose of Elemental Distillation.

To deploy this Chant on the battlefield, some training may be required to prepare our Chanters for battle.
