Pren Gwyn Revision Phase, Early Winter 1915
Quote from: Deg punt Tri modfedd Bomb
A quick modification on the mortar shell, that involves taking out the unneeded mortar propellant, reducing durability slightly (as it doesn't need to survive a propellant detonation), adding some basic guidance fins and filling the remaining weight limit with more HE payload. We should get a bigger, more accurate bang for our buck by removing unnecessary features of our shells.
Efficacy: 3

The new Deg punt Tri Modfedd Bomb, usually designated as the DPTMB-10 is simply the mortar shell of almost the same name but with a few fins on the side and made to have no propellant and less metal overall so it could have much more explosive packed into it. Needless to say, the new bomb should be a bit more effective, accurate, and dangerous, especially if used against unprotected troops. It most likely can be used to disrupt supplies better, and also make artillery and ammo dumps go up more often as it will hit closer to target and not need to be as close to cause a nice large explosion. It costs the same as the old mortar shell as well, so over all its a nice performance increase.

Quote from: Ysgubor Project
The Ysgubor Project is an effort to replace existing AGAA AC15 mounts on our airframes with Cadwynog ŷd AGAA CD15 or Cadwynog ŷd AGAA C15 Mark 1s wherever possible, potentially in the form of universal mountings so as to increase versatility, particularly in the case of ground-attack missions. This also includes, where applicable, the Drych sight.
Efficacy: 6

The work to replace our current guns with the new Cadwynog ŷd AGAA CD15 is a bit difficult, partially due to the gun design being a bit of a work in progress at the time of the order, but our engineers are able to get the plans finished along with a proper mounting for it quick enough, mostly relying on just changing around our current mountings slightly. It will easily enough be affixed to our new aircraft of our current designs along with the ones that are works in progress with a Drych sight included, however, while new aircraft will receive the new gun without any issues, it will require a retrofit of 1 PP to equip already produced aircraft with the Cadwynog ŷd AGAA CD15.

Covers what the generals want, and we should be able to hold the line. I approve.

Design Phase, Late Winter 1915

The General on the road to Nachtburg is content with the results of the bombing raids as of late and despite the advance being slow, its steady enough. He would be happy to see the bombers working as effectively as earlier however and requests some aircraft sent to deal with the Schwarzes Holz fighters. The General in charge of the advance on Hochrotes Schloss is annoyed at the damage done to the balloons on his side of the lines however, and requests some aircraft to defend them.

The General in charge of the advance on Sprungburg is annoyed by yet another setback, and requests a few more aircraft to either overwhelm the enemy fighters, or simply take them down along with their recon thats causing quite a issue for him. Meanwhile, General Dremidydd Rosser requests some bombers and recon to help take the city, confident that while heavy snow will hamper the advance and the ability to fly out, with both recon and bombers the city could be taken despite the terrible weather bound to come.

Pilots would like to know what they should do when they see a Holz parachuting down to the ground, some simply want to shoot at them while others argue that such action wouldn't be sporting or honorable...

High command has increased your budget by 2 PP, as the country devotes more factories to war.

That didn't go as well as I'd have liked, but hopefully the Nodwydd will solve our air superiority problems. That'll then let us move the Saeth's to pure Recon tasks, and give Garth his own command in a fighter squadron.

So!

I propose the following:

Spend 3 dice and 6PP on the Nodwydd. This will bring us to about 11 progress, and leave us with 14PP. if we then mothball a Saeth squadron (hopefully we won't have to pay upkeep because we're not using it), we'll then only have 8PP worth of maintenance, allowing us to buy a prototype squadron of Nodwydd.

Thoughts?

Edit: If you guys are concerned about launching prototype planes, (or if we simply can't), we could also rush the Nodwydd twice, giving us 0-2 bugs. We could then use our spare two dice to revise those bugs out if need be.

I'm alright with that.

Tell the pilots that trying to shoot a man who's just fallen from the sky under a blanket into the middle of a warzone is not only dishonorable (Considering that a grounded pilot is effectively a noncombatant to the theatre of the sky.), it is a diversion that cannot be afforded in following your own missions. Let the ground troops or the elements sort them out.

Is that a vote towards three dice with or without the rushing?

Id go with the rushing. The Saeth just isint cutting it and Joe appears to view gunbuses as subpar fighters. It aint that hes wrong, its just that he aint right.  :P

One things fer sure, whatever happens we should probably use two dice on revisions to normally the Cadwynog ŷd's ROF(and then hand some to the army and navy to play with for AA) and to liberate some chutes for our own idiots to use. Perhaps we can get a few off of the enemy who get captured.
Speaking of, no shooting, ya nuts? Unless the idiots shooting at you theres no reason to, and even then, let a courtmartial followed by... I dunno, strapping to the underside of a bomber and being delivered to the enemy after A)teaching them welsh, B)tarring and feathering the idiots, and C)attaching a strongly worded note requesting an apology from whoever trained the moron.
Just sending over that note would also be fine.

Design Phase, Late Winter 1915
ACG-AMD AC15 "Nodwydd" (3 die spent, 2 die rushed)

Progress: 2+3+1+3+6+5 = 20/16. 6 PP spent

Progress on the Nodwydd goes at a blistering place, in fact, its so quick that we didn't need to do anything but sit black and relax for some time thanks to our engineers speed and diligence, staying over night to make sure that it is finished. Though after all the work is done they are able to watch the test aircraft fly up and down and enjoy watching the fruit of their labor. Needless to say, the Saeth pilots will be glad to hear about this.

It is now the Revision Phase. You have 2 die remaining to spend on Revisions or Save for the next turn.

Piratejoe confirmed in the discord that we definitely didn't get any bugs, so I'd say that was a resounding success.

Saeth mod. 3 Biplane
This Saeth, with the new Rhodri 10-180 D15 engine from the Nodwydd, is designed purely for recon. Thus it comes with an inbuilt Bloeddiwr 79 radio and Llygad Hir camera set. If, despite the new engine, weight still needs to be lost, the frame is lightened and the twin MGs used in other mods are left behind. Plan's for altering existing Seath versions should be included in the revision.

Allrighty then. So, pure recon airframe? Thats what the Saethydd was intended for yaknow. Tho, upgrading its engine and tearing out its fixed gun might be worthwhile...

Quote from: Saethydd ACG-AMD AC15 Mod B
The mod B pattern of the Saethydd is intended to liveup to its initial secondary goal of being a recon aircraft. To this end, the Rhodri 10-140 D15 has been replaced with the 10-180 D15, the fixed machinegun has been deleted, a pair of Llygad Hir cameras(the second being offset on its timing to provide some level of parallax to aid in determining the contents of the resulting images) have been installed over the one optional camera, and a lightly modified Bloeddiwr 79(mostly by addition of a small wind generator, allowing the deletion of most of the batteries) has been tied into the airframe.

And, of course, getting the corn chained correctly, instead of somehow... not.
Quote from: Cadwynog ŷd AGAA C15 Mark 1
Being a recoil operated weapon, particularly where the firing of one barrel operates the action of the other, a total rate of fire of only 100 rounds per minute in the initial mark is strange to say the least, and not as effective in air-to-air combat. Thus, the Mark 1 update, working to bring the weapon to a more expected rate of fire of roughly 1500 rounds per minute. Additionally, work is underway to introduce ammunition with incendiary or high-explosive charges.

It's been so long I actually forgot about that. Have another suggestion:

Quote from: 'Pecyn Adain' Emergency Withdrawal Device
Stored in a canvas backpack, the Pecyn Adain is carefully packed and folded, silk parachute. Intended to ensure the survival of pilots and other aircraft crew who are forced to abandon a failing aircraft mid-flight.
