I reckon our strategy of supporting the land war is rather effective, and improving our bombs would be a great choice. However, we do need to do alright against the enemy fighters, as they seem to have an edge on us in air superiority.

We've got 13pp after maintenance this turn, which means we can buy two more Nodwydds (although a more optimal spending strategy might require only one). That should make a good start against turning the balance of aerial superiority.

I'd like to revise a Saethydd mod B into a Psygotwyr so that the navy can start offensive operations again  (thanks to radio spotting). That way we can transfer the balloons back to supporting the army, where they are actually contributing.

They help with the navy too, but they are of less utility there, namely for long, long range naval scouting. On the otherhand, we dont need asmany for the navy. Floatplanes would be useful though, particularly with a second gen floatplane/1st gen seaplane with those AP bombs I proposed.

Anways, votebox time.

As a note, the Psygotwyr isint named correctly. It should be the "ACG-AMD Saethydd AC15 Mod B/B Psygotwyr" according to current literature. Tho, as first of a new type... No, no, its a variant. still Ill get us a new prefix for floatplanes. Probably 'AFC'

Also, have noticed that none of us have been naming bombs right. That aint good. For example, the LDA 100lb Bomb Series "Dau Hestawr" should actually be LDA CG16 100 "Dau Hestawr" A-D... Ahwell.

Also, for consideration next turn(or when the navy asks for something a tad more suited for its purposes on existing aircraft), the Heron and GDAM.
Quote from: GDAM AFC16 "Crëyr"
Grŵp Dylunio Awyroneg y Môr's answer to the Psygotwyr, the Crëyr is a step away from biplane designs, being a strut-braced high-winged of straight, moderate aspect ratio monoplane with a twin-boom 't-tail' in a pusher-puller configuration(powered by a Rhodri 10-180 D15 at each end) riding on two floats and featuring a totally enclosed crew compartment for its pilot, integrated GW78 radio, and space for an observer/gunner, two passengers, or medic with a pair of stretchers
Construction is of laminated timber in diagonal framing, itself covered with thin sheets of laminated timber carefully gone over to reduce drag. Special note is also made of the acrylic windows of large oversized construction which permit the pilot and optional observer exceptional view of their surroundings. Two large side doors are also apparent.
Armaments consists of a single clamp for a bomb or other round object under 20" in diameter under the fuselage and door mounts for a single Cadwynog ŷd AGAA CD15 Mark 1.
Proposed uses for the craft are liaison work, spotting, light cargo handling, medivac, and light bombing.
One of the main features of the aircraft are its large wings, which in addition to obviously being a monoplane also feature, well, features to aid with operation. Namely, they fold. On the ground(or onboard a ship) the two wings are able to be unpinned and rotated rearward to reduce its overall size. In addition to this, a fixed slat runs along the length of the leading edge and the trailing edge consists entirely of large slotted control surfaces.

The proposal also notes that, with the correct changes, the aircraft would be suitable for use on land in some potentially very rough areas.

The Heron is basically a Fi 156 mashed with a O-2 Skymaster and an unnamed floatplane.

And, to increase its range further, and done after we get the LDA CG16 100 or something similar, the Bladder.
Quote from: LDA CG16 100/C/B "Bledren"
A variant based upon the LDA C15 CG100/C, the Bledren is a disposable auxiliary fueltank intended for use by properly equipped aircraft with external bomb mounts inorder to give extra range, providing nearon 37 gallons of fuel.

Revision Phase, Early Spring 1915
Quote from: Psygotwyr ACG-AMD AC15
The "Fisherman" is simply a Saethydd ACG-AMD AC15 Mod B, with a pair of fixed pontoons fitted to the undercarriage instead of the landing gear. A reduction in performance is expected, but thanks to the Mod B's 180hp engine it should be able to cope adequately.

Efficacy: 6

The Psygotwyr was a simple idea, and one that had fairly good results. It was fairly easy to put on pontoons that worked and it should be quite effective at taking off on water. Its performance is indeed effected, but its still better than the first version of the Saethydd thanks to the engine. It costs about the same as the aircraft its based off of, though the navy will likely be quite pleased to learn and be able to make use of the craft.

It is now the Production & Deployment Phase. You have 19 Production Points remaining.

So, buy something old and shit, buy something decent and waste PP, or hope we can con the navy in helping to fund some floatplanes...

For reference, current costs for maint are 11pp.

As for army relations, they are capturing buggers, arent they? The morons they capture have parachutes, so why *doesent* the army have any?[/salt]

Basically the same thing as last year, except we've moved the naval balloons to assist the assault on Sprungburg and moved a Saethydd Psygotwyr squadron to assist the navy.

I've guessed at an upgrade cost of 2pp from standard Saethydd to Psygotwyr. Updated based on Joe's comment below.

Upgrade cost is actually the same for a standard to go to a B, 1 PP

Design Phase, Late Spring 1915

The Admerals are pleased with the result of the battle that happened, as while they didn't lost more destroyers than they'd like, the newly launched LFM Marchog was able to escape and make it to a safer port to repair. They would like a squad of bombers with a good heavy bomb to give a bit of revenge to the Schwarzes Holz.

The generals on the central front are worried about an Adderscurge like the Fokker Scurge over Europe, the demand more or better fighter aircraft to deal with them as soon as possible, and if that is not available, a lot more support aircraft.

General Dremidydd Rosser is annoyed by the setback, and would like more fighter and support aircraft. He claims that we can afford to lose some land on the central front and that a strong push could take the city in a month if enough support was provided. Meanwhile, the general in charge of the attack on Sprungburg would like more aircraft to continue the offensive and potentially force the Schwarzes to surrender one city or the other.

High command has increased your budget by 3 PP, as the country devotes more factories to war.
