Schwarzes Holz Revision Phase, Late Summer 1915:
GL-11b Luftdonnerkanone (proposal 2)
A comprehensive to the outdated Donnerkanone, the GL-11b modification updates the mechanics of the gun to reduce jamming to be a nonissue for most guns. It also raises fire rate and adds tracer rounds to belts, with an incendiary compound ignited on firing to provide a slow but visible burn as the bullet flies towards the target, greatly improving accuracy.
Efficacy: 3

The GL-11b Luftdonnerkanone is basically a normal GL-11 but with a few important modifications that allow it to jam much less often then normal, however, some time was spent on making tracer rounds as well. Now, our pilots should be able to see where their rounds are going, and the modifications to the gun should be able to be done without too much hassle, meaning we won't have to replace all the old guns or spend any PP on them. As for rate of fire, we where able to keep it at the same level while fixing the Jamming...There also was a note on someones desk saying the engineer's are not magic, or miracle workers...

It is now the Production & Deployment Phase, you have 8 Production Points remaining

Here's a plan format so we don't have to spend ages on making these voteboxes all the time.

Quote from: Battle Plan 'Rise of the Schwärmer'
Fiscal Budget
Scrap:
None
Purchases:
2x IluM-12M
Upgrades:
Schurk: -> BzL 1 Motte-SMT
Rote: -> BzL 1 Motte-SMT
Gold: -> BzL 1 Motte-SMT

Expenses:
Starting Budget:  +12 PP
Bonuses:             +2 PP
R&D:                   - 6 PP
Scrap:                   0 PP
Purchases:            -2 PP
Upgrades:             -3 PP
Maintenance:        -3 PP
Left Over:              0  PP

Rationalization: We don't have the funds to buy another BzL-1 SMT this turn, thus we have to make do with our three Mottes. All three have been upgraded for that nice added top speed, so they should be capable of standing their own in a fight as opposed to last time, where we got outmaneuvered for whatever reason. Altitude means victory in this day and age, and with our new engines, we have the altitude advantage, as well as the accuracy advantage when taking into account our tracers and jam-free guns. Upgrading them, given our options, is really a no-brainer.

The BzLs don't matter that much since we'll be replacing them with Adderbolts next turn. Scrapping these three SHOULD both give us 3 PP extra (when paired with one of the radios we're using to bank some PP in) and save us the 3 PP maint cost, allowing us to outfit ourselves with 3 Adderbolts if we get the price down to something like 5/1 and leaving us 2 to spare on whatever we might need to upgrade them with (or to bank again :P)

Strategy & Execution

General Orders
Pilots in Schurke, Rote and Gold squadrons are to scout ground activity behind enemy lines as before, but also to use their new machineguns to engage in skirmishes when possible. To stay ready for this, planes are never to fly alone. At a minimum pilots will stay with their wingman or, if their wingman is shot down to join as a third with an intact pair or join another singleton to form a new pair.
Front-specific Orders
None

Eastern Front
Schurk
Central Front
Rote
Western Front
Gold

Quote from: Battle Plan 'Rise of the Schwärmer 2.0 Electric Boogaloo'
Fiscal Budget
Scrap:
3x BzL 1 Motte - 4 PP (0.5 PP lost in conversion)
Purchases:
4x BzL 1 Motte-SMT - 12 PP
Upgrades:
Schurk -> BzL 1 Motte-SMT
Rote -> BzL 1 Motte-SMT
Gold -> BzL 1 Motte-SMT
Rudel -> BzL 1 Motte-SMT w/ GL-11B Luftdonnerkanone from storage

Expenses:
Starting Budget:  +12 PP
Bonuses:             +2 PP
R&D:                   - 6 PP
Scrap:                   +4 PP
Purchases:            -12 PP
Upgrades:             0 PP
Maintenance:        0 PP
Left Over:              0  PP

Rationalization: After some clever accounting, true to our bureaucratic nature, I've found a way to form a 4th new Motte squadron, fully armed, out of maintenance bullshittery. Yay for Imperial Bureaucracy!

All four come upgraded for that nice added top speed, so they should be capable of standing their own in a fight as opposed to last time, where we got outmaneuvered for whatever reason.

Scrapping these four SHOULD both give us 6 PP extra and save us the 4 PP maint cost, allowing us to outfit ourselves with 4 Adderbolts if we get the price down to something like 5/1 BUT leaving us nothing if we need to upgrade them - so probably 3 with upgrades. WARNING. This actually loses us a critical 1 PP next turn that we would need to actually get a 4th Adderbolt when investments are taken into account.

Design Phase, Early Autumn 1915

There is a new Ace, Nicholas von Rheinbach, in Rote Geschwader.

The Navy has written off the successful port strike at Stilles Wasser as a one off incident, whether done to not face as much backlash for the damage done to the city or simply because they genuinely believe that such a strike wont happen again however, is not known to us at this time. The army however, is a bit weary, at least with the cities outside of the strait.

The General in charge of the advance onto Bont Gwyn is relieved that there is less enemy aircraft to deal with, but requests more aircraft just in case the enemy comes back with more once again.

The General in charge of the Defense of Sprungburg requests that more aircraft armed with guns go out to deal with the Pren Gwyn's and their balloons.

A recruiter puts forward the suggestion of letting Feldwebel Nicholas von Rheinbach have some time off the front lines and possibly sent to speak to newspapers so everyone can know of the new hero of the skies.

High command has increased your budget by 2 PP, as the country devotes more factories to war.

Well, given we agreed on this the turn before, I'm going to formally propose the following course of action so we can get our design phase and our first revision out of the way stat. Here's the first thing we need to revise posted right off, so we don't have to spend time on that later.

Revision: Dehnert Adderbolt Price Adjustment
While Andreas' enthusiasm was warmly accepted by the Luftjäger, and his plane, the D.I Adderbolt, passed all tests with flying colors, it, in its current form, is just too expensive for the contract given to AvD. Although they'd permit the ebony variant of the aircraft to be sold without armament and featuring a different radial engine for luxury needs, the reality of combat requires the plane to be relatively expendable - so that the Luftjäger can afford to replace its losses and better maintain their growing fleet. For this purpose, a request for a more common material to be used in the construction of the plane is made - under the condition that it does not hamper the capabilities of the airframe, which should be easy (the plane is small, currently made of much denser wood than what we'd optimally want and the latter is the only issue as of right now). What's more, analysts indicate that the reduced mass of the wood would further increase its top speed and maneuverability.

 (Only thing we're asking for is a price reduction while keeping the same performance - the thing about potentially better performance is just extrapolation and not a goal)
