Busy Day.

14 hours from now. Maybe 16. It's night here, but the game will start then, on an hour mark.

Aight
You counting weekend time as part of the day time?

I'll take this opportunity to let everyone know that I'm not gonna be posting for the next ~36 hours, so probably the first day of the game

The Stadium is packed, the seats are filled, and the cameras are rolling.

"Welcome one and all to the First Organization of the Spirit World Mafia Tourney!"

"I'm your Host for this Ride, Tour Guide, and I'll be giving most of the play by play for our contestants."
"For those of you watching from away, and those who happen to not have read the Tablets, I'll go over the rules of this Game."

Each Contestant was picked from a pool of applicants, and thanks to our Host, Lady Sophia, they all have been shrouded in magic. For the Duration of the Day, no one will be able to tell just who each Spirit is. Each Day, the Contestants Vote, and the one with the most Votes at the end of the Day Cycle will be lynched. Pretty Simple, yeah?

Should the Votes be Tied, no one will be Lynched. Likewise if enough Contestants have Voted for No Lynch to occur, enough to outweigh the one with the Lynch Votes. The Day Cycle ends once a Majority Vote is reached, and the Regular Timer runs out.

Speaking of the Regular Timer, each Contestant has the Ability to extend the Day Cycle once in this game, by 24 Hours in fact. Likewise, if a Majority of the Contestants Vote to Extend the Day, 48 Hours will be added. Though Regardless, once 72 Hours have passed in the Day Cycle, a Majority Lynch will end it.

During the Night, Darkness covers the Arena, and the other half of the Game starts. Contestants have 48 Hours to complete their Deeds, nefarious or not. In Addition, the Mafia Section of the Contestants will try to Kill someone themselves, with one of them carrying out their Nightkill.

When a Contestant is Killed in any way, the Magic Dispels, revealing them. Their Alignment, as well as abilities, will be given to the Contestants by me, at the end of Each Day & Night Cycle.

"Now, I'll give it over to Lady Sophia for a few words to start off this Event!"

A voice echoes into everyone's ears

"Welcome everyone, I hope you are all ready for some entertainment."

"Our Combatants fight in a Duel of Logic and Skill, and the winners will go home with a supply of Duel Energy."
"How much is determined by what side they are on, but I digress."

"I hope to see some Skillful Plays, and hope you all enjoy the Show today. For now.."

"Let the Mafia Duelists take the Stage. Spirits, you may Begin!"

In 72 hours from now, UTC will be 14, not 2. Could the Host please use either AM/PM markings or a 24-hour clock to avoid confusion?

Dolores: you started your analysis even before the game began. Who is, in your opinion, most likely to play gambits, town or scum?

Webadict: how are you planning to avoid a repeat of Fallacy's BYOR 4?

Hector13: how high are your hopes of this game seeing actual activity?

FallacyOfUrist: why aren't I asking you a less vague question?

Tomasque: who is the highest threat to you right now?

Webadict: how are you planning to avoid a repeat of Fallacy's BYOR 4?
By doing nothing. I probably won't even post a whole lot. I really just wanted the game to start. My objective is completed.

Additionally, I have zero abilities because I am a normal type monster. Therefore, it is ill-advised to target me. Or maybe it's not. Whatever. I certainly would never activate any abilities that would kill anyone that did target me. Or target other people. Or make up abilities that I may or may not have.

Here is a random string of letters: WIFOM. Please ignore it. "Lynching me is what scum would do."

The non/sense will continue until morale increases.

Wait, this game actually started?

Well that's a thing.

FallacyOfUrist: why aren't I asking you a less vague question?
Well first up that's pretty vague, but secondly I assume it's because you want to get specific information.

webadict: What purpose does that WIFOM serve?

Would you like to play a game of Mafia? The subforum is always open to new players.

I briefly chuckled; morale has increased. The nonsense may cease.

IcyTea: You ask a lot of weird questions, so I'm asking you two. What happened in Fallacy's BYOR 4 that you're referencing?
What do you expect the allegiance (town/scum/etc) spread to be for this, a 10 player BYOR game?

Roseheart: If there are scum other than standard mafia, what kind are you hoping for and why?

High enough that were all chattering about it right now, it seems. Now the question is, why does Hector wish for death this early in the game by unnerving all of us?

By doing nothing. I probably won't even post a whole lot. I really just wanted the game to start. My objective is completed.
How does this strategy prevent this game from dying down before anyone wins?

Well first up that's pretty vague, but secondly I assume it's because you want to get specific information.
If I wanted specific information, wouldn't I ask a more specific question?

What happened in Fallacy's BYOR 4 that you're referencing?
I was scum, and played a crazy gambit that led to a debate with webadict that ended up with both of us looking town yet very foolish. It's probably one reason that that game fell apart.

TricMagic hasn't GMed before, so it's anyone's guess. The standard spreads would likely be {7 town, 3 scum} or {7 town, 2 scum, 1 third party}, but this is also a rather non-standard game.

How high are your hopes of this game seeing actual activity?
Well, half the players have posted now, so we're not going to have more than 4 lurkers.

why does Hector wish for death this early in the game by unnerving all of us?
If you find that unnerving, you haven't seen anything yet.

What purpose does that WIFOM serve?
Isn't it obvious enough? You need to be a refined Mafia player to understand it.
