Driftwood question

So I did a search and it appears driftwood is unusable in the game.  However, it's blocking me from building a wall and I can't smooth it to destroy it like a boulder.  Any suggestions?

Read this in the wiki. Is the wiki no longer correct in this case?

Thanks.  That did work with the wall.  Threw me off as I had built a wall using box select and that spot didn't "take".  Had to do it with a single space wall.
