Inside you found a glowing set of panels. They seemed to show a set of images. One was of this satellite, flashing in orange. Another, of a planet near it, with land masses and oceans, flashing red. Another satellite was green, beside another planet, without visible oceans, that was flashing orange.

Writing in a strange alphabet came on the screen, seeming to scroll past. There were buttons with symbols on them, and a green rectangle that blinked off and on. Access paneling provided a further look at inscrutable parts of the mechanism made from exotic materials.

"Mmmm... wish we could read this..." Dullahan said softly, looking over the images. "Seems like... there might be another of these over another planet in the system though? At least if the picture is right. Then again, if the picture is right, the planet below us wasn't supposed to look like it does."

Atil looks at the images, and then at the sky. And then at the images and then back at the sky, searching carefully for the planets on the panels.

"If I was to hazard a guess, the lights denote status of the object. That is likely why the planet below it is denoted by red, and this object, being tampered with, is denoted by orange." Stella will note down phrases from the alphabet, just in case she could eventually find a translator.

"Mmmm.... that might make sense... perhaps it used to have some sort of sending ability that let it communicate with whoever put it up here?" Dullahan said, trying to puzzle through this. "The one button is flashing... we could hit it perhaps? From the looks of it I don't think it'd be a trap or anything, though who knows what it does."

Whatever it was, it was clear that there was another one somewhere nearby, and that they were paired. They'd definitely fetch a higher price as a set. It will be up to you whether you want to try to work on studying them yourselves, or seeing what an auction will provide.

"Hmm... well let's get it secure and safe, then go find the other. Maybe we can figure them out once we're back at Sharn... likely be more entertaining to do that ourselves than to just sell them off and be done with it." Dullahan said, standing back up slowly.

[Cynicalwhovian]

"I agree. I would rather the knowledge that these contain fall into the hands of those I nominally trust."

[Weirdsound]

"This artifact could hold a great many secrets that could be lost to House Lyrandar should our amateur hands damage it. I'd much prefer that we hand it over to the experts for a proper examination!" Hel-Shredder counters, "But we can debate that on the way home! For now, we should try to find the other one. Kayto! Lets check out the remaining planets!"

Kayto pulled out, and the symbols on the display began to change. Soon, the number of symbols by the other satellite's image decreased.

"Ah! Something's changing here.... maybe these symbols show distance? They seem to be shrinking.... so that might be saying we're getting closer?" Dullahan said, continuing to watch the screen. (intelligence = 10 ) "Mmmm.... still can't be sure these are even numbers though... seem like it, but I can't quite make sense."

[Weirdsound]

Hel-Shredder watches the numbers intently, taking a few idle notes on a blank page of his spellbook.

"I think I can crack this... Gimee a second..."
