Nodding a little, the emaciated man slowly stands up, ready to move.
"I never thought I'd live to hear the war ended."

The three of them started to walk back to the Airskiff, where, presumably, Mr. Shredder was waiting to ferry them back to the ship.

Mr. Shredder stands at the rudder of the skiff idly twirling his wand in boredom, as if he were a parade leader and it a baton. He is fairly tall for a hobgoblin, but also a bit thin and lanky compared to other members of his race Detlas might have met on the battlefield. The well kept condition of both the light armor on his body and the rapier hanging at his waist betray a degree martial discipline one might not expect from a spell slinging skiff operator. ...But he looks too young to have fought in the war if it had truly ended eight years ago.

His large ears perk up and a wide smile reveal his fangs as the group approaches. "Sormias, Fyodor! I see you found our mystery camper!  Come with us if you want some food in your belly and some Ebbron under your feet!"

The Hobgoblin hops down from the skiff and approaches, and offers Deltas his hand. "Name's Hel-Shredder friend! ...Although actually, I'm around colleagues, so we best use my professional pseudonym. Call me Mr. Shredder!"

Obviously a bit taken aback, the haggard man cautiously takes Shredder's hand, and shakes it (albeit a tad weakly).
"Warrant Officer Detlas...Junda...ar, Jundar, White Lions..." He murmurs, trailing off as his gaze moves to the airship above.
The man stares at said ship, his dull eyes moving along it, and his mouth still hanging open.
Blinking, Detlas warily asks, "Is the war machine up there tame?"

"The Warforged?" Mr. Shredder asks as he gives the man's hand a firm shake, "Oh. He's friendly. Actually one of the more gentle souls we keep aboard the Kraken! He knew well enough to know he might make you uncomfortable and left the landing party! I'm sure he'll put up with you if you put up with him. He is professional like that. Thats why I requested him by name when House Lyrander put me in charge of picking the crew of the Astral Kraken! ...Well that and the fact that if you are taking an spelljamming airship to explore unknown worlds, it doesn't hurt to have a badass terror unit war veteran on hand just in case things get ugly."

The Hobgoblin's mind was already churning. This Detlas fellow was both a trained soldier and fire tested survivalist. Just the sort of person that would be useful on future Spelljamming adventures.

Stella eyes Detlas. "If you are concerned, he has displayed no signs of wishing to continue the war."

The skiff returned to the ship. Kayto d'Lyrandar stood at the helm, his posture looking at once intense as he gripped the Wheel of Wind and Water as if poised to turn it with all his strength, and relaxed, as if he casually preferred to remain ready, rather than seeking to go. Eberron was still visible in the sky, and close.

Detlas Jundar would want to speak with the Karrnathi Embassy in Middle Central. It would take him three workdays to make contact with any living relatives and to get his papers in order. In the interim, House Lyrandar has agreed to purchase his Superior Canteen for 100 galifars so that he can afford accommodations, if he needs.

Sharn: the City of Towers

The descent from above the highest clouds still took hours. In the distance loomed the City of Towers, Sharn, an architectural wonder the likes of which appear nowhere else on Eberron. Here, the Elemental Plane of Air touches the world, invigorating the magics of flight and levitation, allowing for such wonders as magically reinforced architecturally impossible spires, and even an elite borough that flew above the confined of the city. Detlas has never seen anything the like of it before.

If you would like, chat among each other on the approach to Sharn. When you are ready, you should post your downtime actions. You have 20 days of downtime in Sharn before House Lyrandar calls you up again. Each day, you will need to pay for accommodations somewhere in the city suitable to the downtime activity you hope to perform. A list of boroughs can be found here.

Before the ship leaves the floating city block he'd been on the last eight years, Detlas points a single finger out at a field on the earthmote.
"The dead are buried there. They deserve proper care, eventually." The survivor explains quietly, before asking for more of the trail food.
He spends the three hours back sitting on the top deck, eating the meat and nuts from said rations, peering off the edge of the ship, and not interacting with anyone barring the annoyingly persistent.
He refuses to give up anything on him, especially his canteen, even on the promise of money. The spear he had was left behind.

As the ship approaches the large city, Detlas stares at it, his blank expression molding ever so slightly into one of relief and relative peace.

Before departing the Astral Kraken, Mr. Shredder dutifully deducts 5 gold from his paycheck to claim an Alien Wand.

---

Hel-Shredder, an established agent of House Lyrandar, is permitted to live at the Upper Middle Guildhouse for free. After checking into the room which is more or less reserved for him, the Hobgoblin Spends a work day shopping. As a leading crewman of Ebberon's first successful Spelljammer, Hel-Shredder expects to be doing alot of socialization in the near future, and as such he will need good clothes. Many pairs. Perhaps so many that it might be in his interest to learn to make his own.

Hel-Shredder Shopping List:
-1 Set of Noble Clothes (15g)
-1 Leatherworkers Tools (5g)
-Attempt to find somebody to mount his Alien Rapier and Wand on a nice plaque that he can display in his office to commemorate the first successful voyage of the Astral Kraken (???)

Hel-Shredder Rippedspleens finds his old familiar room that is in fact set aside just for him. He ascends a few staircases to reach it. His solid darkwood door is set in a wood paneled wall with paisley wallpaper. The guildhouse is in that regard quite similar to the ship. His suite has a desk and bed, and he has access to a common room, which offers meal and beverage service.

Galifan Couture offers a range of noble's clothing in his area. A junior tailor parts from the team after Mr. Shredder requests to be brought to the unenchanted section. Tanners tools were harder to find. Mr. Shredder spent several hours browsing and window-shopping at Tradefair before he found what he was looking for.

Mounting was available in three styles. Martial Arms carries a polished wooden weapon rack for 1 galifar. They also offer wall mounts made of tropical woods and inset with some rarer materials that would cost 10 galifars, but suit the decor much more strongly. Lastly, an artisan is willing to create a bespoke wall mount in a style similar to the armaments themselves, including internal lighting to expose the objects' finer features. This elegant display case and floating mounting would cost fifty galifars.

Thanking Sormias for the money, Detlas meanders around the area for a bit, before paying 3 galifar for three nights at the guildhouse.

Instantly after that, he asks for directions to the local Karrnathi authority, and heads there.
He takes his time going there, astounded by the city. It's a shock, having been a lone survivor on an isolated rock for nearly a decade, and now suddenly being around people.

In fact, it's obvious he's out of place anywhere but the slums. A haggard, dirty old war veteran, wandering the streets, slowly making his way to the embassy.

The Karrnathi Embassy was quite probably the largest in Sharn. It was more or less a castle, spread out over four blocks, within the City of Sharn. It's style was gothic, with high arches and scowling, austere gargoyles. Built on the edge of Middle Central, the castle's pointed towers were weatherworn with rain, and hosted moss between the stones.

Detlas was able to enter without papers on the admittance of House Lyrandar, who provided a report of where he had been found, and how. Regardless, there were days of messages sent back and forth from Karrnath via House Sivis sending stones. Military records were acquired, and Detlas Jundar was extensively questioned to prove his identity. What accomplishment was he decorated for, and what was his worst disciplinary infraction?

On the third day, he was informed that the last of his family had died several months before the end of the war. Famine and disease had been common in Karrnath towards the end, even among the civilian population, and the frozen winters had claimed many lives. The message had never reached him on the front. He was given 50 galifars in back pay for his military service, and an honorable discharge.

"Your proposal appeals to me friend!" Hel-Shredder tells the Artisan. "I suspect I will leave town on my next voyage in twenty days or so, and do not know how long I will be gone as of yet. I should be able to afford your work upon my return. How much of your fee would you expect up front? I'd be willing to pay 15 now, and the remaining 35 when I pick the trophy up after my next adventure."
