Riisi was watching all this, and called out to those in melee with the tree things. "Cannot trade zhese leaves for shinies if you are dead!" and advanced in a backwards direction, skedaddling to the skiff.

Mr. Shredder annihilates the tree-thing that Brother Jonathan missed with a ray of Frost, shattering it into a thousand frozen bits. "Dammit Monk! The little alien is right! We need to be retreating, not advancing! Do you know how much paperwork I'll have to do if these wooden fuckers kill one of you?"

(Attack Roll = 16) (Damage Roll = 7)

He then turns to Sorimas as he continues to limp away from the fray. "Can I have some healing before you bolt back to the skiff? I cannot abandon these idiots. I'm going to have to hang around at a distance and cover their retreat with my frost magic until everybody else sees sense to leave!"

(Mr. Shredder's movement is 30ft. Between his move this turn, and move last turn, he is either 60ft away from where the treefolk are spawning, or as far as he can get while still retaining LoS)

Dullahan flicked his hand, casually incinerating another before turning and starting to walk back to the skiff, it was better for him to stay in range, in case he needed to blast more of the little creatures. "I've been ready to retreat from the beginning. But part of my goal here is to protect the others. Still, I can do that as well from back here." He'd say, still speaking in the same calm tone as he rested his blade on his shoulder, looking incredibly calm about the entire situation.

Silence fell over the glade for a moment as the last of the charging treefolk was incinerated. Many spoke of retreat. Others kept stuffing their bags with as much as they could carry. But they were quickly interrupted as three quick notes, and a fourth, higher note, echoed from deeper into the woods. Then again, from another direction, then a third, even more distant than the others.

Will you risk further reinforcements? Or flee now?

"That sound means it is time to go. We got plenty of herb in our bags, and know where to find more if we are down to go another round with these wooden shits!" Mr. Shredder declares before turning and limping back towards the Skiff.

"Yeah, that's the sound of far more reinforcements than we want to deal with. Come, let's leave the rest for those twigs to keep." Dullahan said, heading for the skiff himself.

Fyodor runs to the skiff

"It's not as bad as the 'Demon Wastes' but I am in favor of leaving." Brother Jonathan quickly returned to the skiff.

Atil licked the blood tricking down his hand.
“At least we return with more food than what we left with. Those plant people taste like wood bark.”

The company began to move quickly through the forest.

Far behind them, groups of treefolk mustered. More small groups trampled between the olladraleaf grove. Beyond them, the forest itself seemed to move. Treefolk climbed over boulders, rushed through fall logs, and spread out through the occasional clear ground, surging like army ants across the forest floor.

The horns continued. There was a sound of feathers. There was the panicked cry of some giant forest beast being overwhelmed, and stripped to the bone. They are coming.

You broke through the tree line, and ran at the skiff. As you broke the treeline, a flight of four treefolk mounted on swanback descended from the canopy, charging towards you and the skiff, arriving there as you all did. In the distance, a hailstorm of wooden feet and shaking leaves marked the incoming horde.

Roll for initiative, DC11. You begin this fight one move action away from the skiff.

Dullahan saw them coming in, and adjusted his speed, slipping into his normal, steady walk. He wanted to be sure everyone else made it onto the skiff. (Init = 9)

“Looks like we have more company.” Atil said as he took out his gear axe, ready to slash and run as needed.

Choosing to run first, he made his way to the entryway of the skiff, guarding the escape.
