The tree seems only mildly perturbed by the dissonant cracking of bark and wood echoing around it.

Roots uprooted, chunks of earth scattered, and the tree skittered forward. The wood struggled against the ice within, moving only slowly, reaching to stand just beside Mr. Shredder, Atil, and Dullahan.

“I wonder what firewood would have to say.” Atil spoke in Draconic, as he cleaved at it with his greataxe.

The Pilot and their cargo handlers paused when they saw that the entire camp is covered in eldritch runes coated in blood. And rotting monkey corpses everywhere..

They decide that they didn't get paid enough for this..

The tree seemed genuinely disturbed by the food trying to communicate with it, but didn't halt it's attack.

Stella'll try to shoot an arrow into the tree. If it can penetrate the bark, the tree might actually be seriously wounded. [19 to hit; 11 damage]

Sap trickled down, but the arrow didn't penetrate as deeply as Stella hoped.

Brother Jonathan dives in at the tree, striking it hard with his spear

hit = 25 (crit) damage = 11

Then he kicked the tree to pull his spear out.

hit = 20 Damage = 4

Dullahan chuckled a bit at the cheer, but felt he should still try his best since Sormias was putting the effort in. His head rattled with it's own strange laughter, as another bolt of indigo flame formed in his hand, to be chucked at one of the drier parts of the tree. (Attack = 23 Damage = 8 )

Jonathan cracked a thick branch off with a powerful thrust of his spear, before Dullahan's indigo blue fires engulfed the tree, turning red as the last of it's canopy lit up. Creaking and cracking, it fell to the ground. The fire spread along the trunk, flickering and blazing, but thankfully the underbrush withered without coming alight.

Past the tree, you made out some unusual ferns. Roll int/nature or wis/medicine.

Dullahan hummed a bit, his head floating over to examine those ferns more closely while his body just sheathed it's blade. "Well, it seems you're going to have the chance to get a lot of practice in, if today's been any indicator of what's coming." His body turned, as his head clattered about, moving over to crouch down and examine the ferns more closely as well. (Nature = 15)

There was little doubt about it. It was, as near as Dullahan could tell, identical to an eberron native plant, Olladraleaf. An important ingredient in healing potions, a sack of this would sell for something like two hundred and fifty gold pieces. Looking out over the woods, you could spot quite a bit of it ahead, growing in small thickets. Each of you had brought just one empty sack. Odds were, with a bit of work, you could fill it.

"Olladraleaf... interesting. Well, identical as close as I can tell at least." Dullahan said, firmly planting his head back on his neck. "Heh, a doubly good find. We get the captain's key, and a good pay from this too. Just means a bit of flower picking. Well... fern picking."
