Mr. Shredder falls silent for a moment, before shrugging. "I suppose you may have a point. But pretty much everybody in Sharn judges by their own standards. People see me, and assume I'm a militaristic brute because I'm a hobgoblin. Hobgoblins see me, and assume I'm a waste of oxygen because I'm not altogether entirely a militaristic brute. I'm just doing unto others as they have done unto me in that regard."

He sighs and leans against the rail, watching the snow try and fail to pound its way through the elemental sheath. "I don't begrudge the work Jacques does... well okay I do, but only because he isn't terribly good at it - competence is another thing I value highly... But I know there is a place in the world for dockworkers. I know I'd be up shit creek without them. There are even a few hard working clever dock workers I am sort of fond of. That doesn't mean I understand the sort of people who want to live that way. And family isn't an excuse to avoid risk taking. My parents knew I depended on them, but they never stopped risking their lives in The Last War. I like to think I turned out okay even though they didn't make it."

It takes a moment for the cool of Sorimas' touch to reach Shredder through his travelers clothes. The hobgoblin folds his hands and interlocks his fingers, almost as if praying, and continues to stare at the elemental sheath for a moment before speaking again. "Thanks. That means something coming from the only person in town who hasn't been around long enough to know what society thinks I'm supposed to be... Even if you slipped back into your native language so I couldn't understand all of it!"

"What do you think of this view, Sorimas? You are pretty lucky, getting to see a snow launch on only your third ever airship voyage! When I stared doing airship runs, it took me a year and a half or so before I got to see this!" Shredder smiles, the weight of the recent serious discussion leaving his face, replaced by childish glee. Airship travel was always one of his favorite things, and riding an airship he had a hand in designing himself with somebody whose company he actually enjoyed somehow made the flight even more magical.

"I am unfamiliar with the term. Perhaps one day a dictionary will be written," Stella muses, turning her gaze from the snow to Sormias's. "I take it to be a positive comment, although I do not know what could be literal and figurative."

"I doubt it translates directly," Mr. Shredder muses, his mind churning to try and pin down the meaning of the alien word, "but the fact that it can describe both of us leads me to believe it has a very broad meaning. I somehow suspect that there are not too many adjectives that apply to both of us."

"I see," is all Stella responds. She looks down at her pale hand. "Interesting."

Ten days passed in the leadup to Longshadow, a three day feast. Chevash was still putting up decorations as you emerged for a traditional breakfast feast on the first day of Longshadow. Pastries, sausages, cheeses, and a variety of preserves filled the table, while symbols of the Sovereigns lined the walls, connected by garlands of holly and gold-colored paper. A jug of white wine mixed with orange juice sat at the table's center.

Post your 10 days activity, then narrate in as you like.

Unsurprisingly, Detlas does the same as he always does, much like a single-minded golem or beast of burden. He wakes up early, patrols the ship to make sure everything is in place, consumes a heavy but basic breakfast, and begins his strict training regimen. He always skips lunch, eating small snacks throughout the day during his short breaks. The majority of his training is intensive core work and cardio, with plenty of muscle-building. Assuming that Jonathan is still offering his services as a teacher, Detlas also sets aside time for unarmed training sessions.
The end of his day is marked with dinner, and him quickly returning to his quarters. Presumably for sleep.
Unarmed 49/70 or 39/70 if Jonathan is not teaching

And as the feast comes his schedule hardly changes. He adds just a few new things to his meals, but eats nothing more than that. Days are still spent training. Come evenings, he sticks around for maybe half an hour before going to his quarters.
And he doesn't drink the wine.
He only drinks from a very plain looking canteen of everflowing water. In fact, he's only drank from that canteen. He's had it when he was found on the floating rock, and he's had it on him ever since. Detlas has drank nothing else, and drank from nothing else.

Shortly after the spelljamming sails are dropped, Mr. Shredder knocks on Dullahan's door. "Dullahan, its Mr. Shredder. Do you have a moment?"

"Of course, come in Mr. Shredder." He'd hear Dullahan say from inside. Walking in he'd see the armour polishing himself, and preforming some small maintenance now and then with tools that came out of his wrist. "What brings you to my room?"

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.

Stella will look into Sormias's language's etymology. It could be useful for an uncrackable code language--no beings other than those Sormias trusts would know it.

[Deep speech: 10/56]

For the breakfast feasts, she would have consumed the pastries and preserves primarily, occasionally enjoying cheese as well. She would have avoided the wine, drinking only water, similarly to Detlas. Aside from her education, she would have spent time watching the stars, meditating, and perhaps writing in a journal.
