"Duty, one would think. Or something close to it."

Fyodor heads towards the door once again

"Come now. I have little doubt it will still be here once we return from further in."

[TALLPANZER]

"So, you think there is a caster near by controlling it?" Jonathan rubbed his chin and contemplated the thought as he answered Jundar. then he looked to Fyodor. "Duty? You think it can know such things? That would be very complicated."

[Weirdsound]

"I think these devices are run on the natural sciences rather than the arcane sciences. If they don't need magic for their flying space machines, I doubt this civilization needs magic for their constructs!" The Hobgoblin speculates, "either way, judging by the state of the front door, it doesn't seem like there has been a living thing in here to command anything for some time."

"And not all golems require constant orders either. Most likely it was given a simple set of commands, and has simply never been told to stop. So on and on it goes, until it stops being able to function as it does now." Dullahan mused, still watching the thing work. It was a curious thing, it didn't seem fully intelligent, but even still one could place a personality to it.... if only those who built it were around, he'd have many questions for them. "I would have concerns about simply shoving it in a box, so far it's been peaceable in it's rebukes against us stopping it's work, but if it was fully enclosed, I may worry at it's reactions. As well as how it may react once we let it back out of the box. It may not be good for it, or whoever ends up with it."

[Weirdsound]

"Well what would you suggest, Dullahan?" The Hobgoblin asks, "it is way to valuable to leave here, it will become less valuable if we hack it to bits for our own safety, and I somehow doubt my sleep spell would work on it, or that it is quite smart enough to befriend."

Dullahan shrugs. "That's simple then. Obviously those who owned this place before us had ways of controlling their own golems. It may take a bit of time and examination, but if we find such a thing we would then be able to get it to go along with our commands freely. Not to mention if whatever form of control they had is easily mobile, it would be worth far more were we to sell it, and not just keep it as an oddity for the Astral Kraken."

[Weirdsound]

Mr. Shredder thinks on the Warforged's words for a moment. "That... that makes sense... we should keep our eyes out for a control mechanism. I'm not sure I fancy our chances of figuring out such a device without being able to read the local language though. There are likely plenty of mechanical things in this facility that need to be controlled."

"You're a wizard are you not? I had thought most magic users at least knew of ways to use their magic to help comprehend other languages, even if they may not leave it always prepared." Dullahan looked around the room. "And considering how many magic users we have, I'd be surprised if none of them did... though it may require another day's rest to prepare."

[Weirdsound]

"Such a spell exists..." Mr. Shredder admits sheepishly, "and if I knew it, I could cast it as a ritual. But alas, Comprehend Languages is not cataloged in my spell book. Sormias, do you know how to magic your way into linguistic know-how?"

[Cynicalwhovian]

"There are unscrewable panels on these automatons, but we likely cannot open them without retaliation, unless the automaton is somehow restrained. That, in and of itself, may damage it, however."

[TALLPANZER]

"Let us explore the rest of this place then, unless the automaton can speak." Jonathan looked at the construct once more, then walked toward the door they had not tried yet.

[Weirdsound]

"Yeah! Lets explore some more!" Mr. Shredder approaches the door on the left, to see if he can get it open.

Fyodor was already at the door. He examines it looking for a way to open it. If it automatically opens he'll walk through, keeping an eye out for potential threats

You stepped into a rounded room off the main. It seemed to have a pair of beds in it, though these beds were empty. Each was surrounded by a small curtain, and a number of the grey rectangles that seemed to adorn the bulk of the facility. One sat on a desk. Doors here lead back to where you came from, or deeper into the facility.

A third bed lay broken and tattered and knocked over inside a clear box of some unknown material. Within it stood the zombie of some humanoid creature you could neither name nor recognize.

It seemed to see you too. It started to batter on the wall. Despite it's glass-like appearance though, it seemed solid. You could make out a door seem in the strange material. It had fifteen buttons beside it, arranged 4x3, then with a row of three wider buttons below.

The robot behind you, having finished re-stacking the boxes, began to follow you, from a safe distance, cleaning the sandy yellow footprints you were leaving behind.

Brother Jonathan looked to the zombie "Should I try to release this soul with silver flame?"
