Punt Bombs
Balloon Mine Variant

Dense spherical balloons, Punt Bombs are able to be kicked long distances by an athletic Octoling. Produced en-masse in the field by Automatic Balloon Mine stands, Punt Bombs can be widely distributed to troops in the area or stacked in piles for use later. Maximum range is achieved with a running kick of course, but headers and dropkicks can provide more responsive attacks.

Bringing these back because I think having a good offensive sub weapon will be important.

Huh, I really couldn't find another good revision to resurrect.

Revision: Punt Bomb (Easy Difficulty)
4+1+1 = 6: Above Average

The most difficult part of this project, in the end, turned out to be figuring out how to keep it from exploding when someone kicks it without also keeping it from exploding when it hits what the user kicked it at. There is no great breakthrough on this part, just trial and error and trial and a few more errors until the proper thickness and rubber mix is determined and a training routine designed to that Octolings can actually hit what they kick at. It's a useful sub-weapon, the Octoling agents all agree, but they do complain that it's really hard to kick it through a window with any degree of accuracy. And without catching the actual window instead of going through said window. It has some trouble with alternate heights as well, but it has pretty decent horizontal range. Meanwhile, production turns out to be simple and cheap enough for basically everyling to have a stock of them if they want. While they are designed to be able to be pumped from the balloon mine pumper, the designers also saw no reason not to make them just pumpable from the Ink Tank for simplicity of use.

However, while the Punt Bomb balloon is shaped for kicking, this unusual shape makes it hard to throw accurately.

Costs only 1 Plastic, making it Cheap.

Paintbroom
Primary Weapon

Improving on basic brush technology with a self-inking mechanism and packaged in a wide, easy to handle form, the Paintbroom is a fast and efficient way to lay down ink. Even with a fairly low clearance, enough momentum and a Paintbroom can go right over a whole 'ling or ten. Can also be used to Scrub, for when you need to ink a wall or an enemy without room to maneuver, but it isn't very impressive compared to the smooth stripe of a Sweep.

Slosher
Primary Weapon

Although at its heart mostly just a bucket, the slosker removes the traditional no-spill swing handle with a pair of please-spill-me fixed handles, both on the side of the bucket. The Slosher was developed as a direct response to Inkling pre-charge technology and allows for a much flashier first impression, by abandoning pressurized ink altogether. Rate of fire is poor, but for instant power without a charge time, there's nothing better.

Bringing this one back up to the front.

Typhoon(Superweapon)
Octolings and Inklings alike abandoned the seas long ago as they turned toxic, now the sea is attempting to take the land as well. There is however one place we can go that both the sea, and our foes, cannot touch; The air.
Typhoon can be, at its most basic, described as a giant balloon, but that is a gross oversimplification. It is a massive aircraft, a rigid, helium filled airship with a long gondola running all the way along the balloon until it begins to curve, and two storage compartments inside the envelope itself, one for supplies which is directly attached to the Zapfish generator that provides power for the craft, the other a huge tank of ink. Propulsion is provided by propellers attached to several engine cars that are placed out towards the sides of the envelope and can be disabled separately for proper manuevering. It's painted in bright green and deep octoling purple, with our insignia massive and clearly visable on both sides, and the gondola painted so as to appear as if the envelope is carrying it with tentacles. it is sure to prove an emboldening sight to any Octoling who sees it drifting over the battlefield, high up out of the range of any weapons our enemy could throw at it.
The previously mentioned ink supply is used to fill a large number of Balloon mines, which can then be dropped from great heights out of the bomb bay in the center of the Gondola. Spotlights shine down upon the battlefied from it at night, to be focused in on enemy positions by its crew in order to negate their element of surprise. This may not seem like enough to warrant the use of a zapfish, but that's because this isn't all it can do, this craft also comes equipped with a spawn pad, which can be used by any Octoling soldiers below it, and they are then deployed via one of a pair of significantly smaller unarmed airships, these airships are just made large enough to carry a squad of Octolings plus the pilot so that it takes minimal power for them to get to and from Typhoon. Typhoon carries a limited amount of ink, mines and pods though, so it must return to friendly territory to restock and refill before taking flight once again, but the balloon mines on board can be filled manually if the ink runs out first.
It should be noted that the focus is to be placed on making the airships main features functional(flying, bombing, spotlights) before moving on to the respawn point and transport craft.
Concerns have been raised that running the respawn point, if it is included, will draw on too much power for the zapfish to power the entire ship as well, this is to be looked into before the proper implementation of the respawn pad. If it is in fact the case than the respawn pad is to be powered independently by a second zapfish that can be added when we have access to one, and until that point we will just field it with the respawn feature inactive.

*Edit: Actually hold on wait, how about this thing that I forgot I had made after so much time.

Boiler Pack
The Boiler Pack is a new type of weapon. While originally meant to be a variety of Ink Tank, the fact that nobody was ever going to use it without a weapon specifically designed for it in mind meant it was easier to re-develop it into a weapon. The Boiler Pack consists of two major parts, the Boiler itself, and a specialized hose.
The Boiler is fairly simple, effectively a second tank, that is attached to the wearers already present tank. This tank can intake ink on its own, and have ink pumped into it by the main tank, but the actual storage portion of the tank is smaller. The reason for this, is because the missing space has been used to turn the tank into a boiler, as the name would imply, boiling the ink into a burning hot mist, effectively ink-steam. The base structure of the tank is made up of a large number of materials that are poor for conducting heat, and additionally makes use of the slime from special Chilly Sea Snails. While their name implies the slime would decrease heat, it's actually just a particularly effective insulator. A layer of this is included between the inner tank and the outer tank so as to keep the heat from leaking out, thus to stop the heat from boiling the ink in the regular tank, and to prevent it from burning the users back.
The hose meanwhile, is considerably simpler, more a proof of concept than anything else, but expected to be effective nonetheless. The hose, like the tank itself, has multiple layers, an inner and outer layer of typical rubber, with chilly sea snail slime in between to insulate it. The nozzle is designed so as to maximize the distance the spray goes and to focus the stream, thus allowing it to be used without being too much of a risk to the actual user themself. While the sheer boiling heat of the mist means that it is a hazard to our own soldiers as well. In the future we will make newer, more effective weapons to take advantage of the boiler concept in other ways, such as possibly a source of pressure for increased power, but as a proof of concept, this weapon is sure to be terrifying at close ranges.
