You order your icelings to dig out to the North and tell Blackroot to research the Book.

After a period of time and waiting, Blackroot returns with a wide grin on her face.
"Master, I have good news. First, the icelings have hollowed out the corridor to the North. On their digging route they found gold ore and some unrefined Mapleites. We now have 4 Gold ore and 6 Mapleites. Now, we have no use for both now, but as soon as we can smelt the gold we can surely convince some people we come across to join us, or we might buy something off of a deep dwelling merchant... The gems, well we can use them for higher level summonings, for building traps, and other things. They are used for Enchantings and though there are better materials for that task, we will likely not come by these materials in the next time.

Your icelings continue to shaft out caverns in your close vicinity. They delve into the south and find a deposit of gems at F4. You get 2 mapleites out of this.
At the Northern side, your icelings carve out shafts at B3 and C3, finding 1 mapleite at C3.
Blackroot begins constructing the library, and as she finishes her work she spends some time on studying the book.
She discovers that she can research a few subjects in the book for now: Basic Summoning Tools, Iceling Warriors, Ice Arrow Trap, Mana Crystal Theory, Summon Prism Ice
