But prosthesis are in the dev notes already.

(Albeit only magical ones, but I'm sure there's a threetoe story or dftalk with more detail on them somewhere).

Huge devlist also gives:
Bloat35, PROSTHETIC LIMBS, (Future): Prosthetic limbs, could be fitted to individuals. Could be improved with hooks and so on.

It's a fairly common fantasy trope, doesn't really need real-life to back it up (although kind of cool when it does).

There was also a notion of grafted weapons being part of the "constructed creatures" (e.g. Frankenstein's monster/flesh golem) they talked about in the night creature DF talk.
