You are a Jenelenjei, an amorphous life form with a central nucleus controlling a pliant biomass, yours being about the size of a grown human being. A very long time ago, your kind were a power nearby this part of the galaxy, but you don't know much about that. It's been 20 years since your 2 parents merged together and fissioned into you and your 4 siblings, and aside from some scraps you inherited from them, you remember only this world.
U13114-b is the planet's designation, at least in SolFed's catalogue. So far out of the way no one's bothered to officially name it in the big governments. It might not really be under anyone's jurisdiction. Just a lonesome world way down on the coreward wilderness. An oxygenated but sub-par atmosphere, questionable native biosphere. Of course, that's not how you see it at all. You live in the township of Operand, located about 100 km from the city of Urzek. It's hard for you to picture a bigger city than Urzek. You moved out here when you matured and sorted out your means, and have now been here longer than anywhere else. Wide open plains with the arms of two mountains rising up on two sides, meeting on the third side with one big peak dotted in comms (though those are hard to see from the town.) Seems like a pretty vast expanse to you.
You emerge from a sleep-like state in the tub of nutritious broth you've been absorbing and digesting overnight. The morning rays through your window-wall feel warm on your body, which is currently shaped something like a humanoid lizard. It took you a few days to form the details, but you feel kinda proud about it. An internal skeleton, a pair of beautiful primary eyes, a sense of taste. You haven't figured out how to make your glassy outer membrane look like proper dermis, but color and opacity are pretty advanced skills for one of your kind, so no self esteem lost there. Perhaps you'll work more on it later. As for now...
[] Soak for a bit longer. That's what the humans call breakfast, eh?
[] Get up.
[] Get up, get dressed.
Looks like it's going to be blue skies today. Not unusual, it is a bit arid out here after all.
