Unable to attract migrantss after super early undead siege

so in the early summer of my first year on a new fort i got seiged by a necromancer and 2 undead elven swordsmen. i had already buildt a wall and got my livestock and prime suplies inside  when they showed up so the fort kept going. i broke into the caverns to get some more wood asap  anyway early spring of the second year a human lasher comes visiting and breaks the seige by ending both the undead elves he then asks to stay so i accept.

anyway both that spring and the summer just passed i got the message "your fort atracted no migrants this season" and im beginning to get worried that having missed the first scripted one due to the seige i may never get migrants. both for the spring and the summer ive had neither elven nor human caravans show up despite being in an area within range of all civs.

i have tried the migrants now command in dfhack but it results in the same message and my wealth generated is definately high enough to warrant migrants.... anyone seen this before is it a bug?

If your civ is truly dead you'll get two migrant waves, and that's it. If they were blocked due to a siege you won't get more waves. Since you haven't yet encountered any "real" civs, you can check this by looking at the civ screen's civ screen. If it's completely blank your civ was actually dead, but if your own civ is present you should eventually get more migrants.
The human caravan is dependent on trade having been conducted (exported wealth), and since the lasher came early spring you probably missed out on the elven caravan (and thus the trigger for the human one).
It used to be that trade liaison reports back to the fortress was involved in migrant wave sizes. If that's still the case your lack of migrants may be because they don't know you're doing OK, in which case you ought to get a wave after the dwarven caravan has reported back.

ohh my civ is far from dead apologies if i implied it theres over 20 active sites in my civ  ive done the whole dead civ reborn thing before.

what im worried about is as the seige made me miss the first migrant wave and the caravan does that mean im not ever gonna get any

I think migrants were just scared off for a while. I once had a first-summer undead siege in one fort which just loitered in one corner of the map for few months and left. After that there were several seasons with no migrants, then one season of "some migrants have arrived despite the danger", after which migrant waves resumed as usual. The "migrant reputation" of the civ or whatever the counter for that is can apparently take a hit even from an uneventful siege.

yea the problem abated after the second year caravan showed up and a bunch of 30 odd migrants arived i think maybe the undead loitering on the map mustve put a negative bias for migration

I had to reclaim a fortress because over 80 Dwarves died in a siege and migrants just didn't want to come after that, so...

It would be nice if the "No Migrants" message included some detail on what's keeping them away.
