How can my tavern have a non meeting area booze stockpile?
« on: July 28, 2018, 07:26:51 pm »

I know a lot of people don't have their taverns serve drinks, but I'm sitting on a massive horde of alcohol in my fort and it's pretty funny filling up rooms full of coffins with people who die of alcohol poisoning.

The only problem is I'm told that the booze stockpile needs to actually be in your tavern. This results in pretty much everyone standing around in my stockpile room instead of socializing out in the tavern proper with all the good scenery.

I want it so the only people  in the room are the ones grabbing drinks, but I can't seem to do this. I tried putting a table in there and assigning it to the tavern without putting a meeting hall or assigning it as one but it seems that Taverns on their own are meeting halls.

Anyone know how I can change this? I have dfhack so if theres something I can do through that if theres no nornal option let me know.

Add engraved dining rooms, statue gardens and museums to your tavern. Booze pile will be the least interesting place to visit, so should remain mostly empty.

Needs more Science, but seems to me that adding a booze pile to your tavern later, rather than starting with it as part of the initial designation causes more dorfs to hang out there instead in the main area.

It isn't necessary to stockpile *all* your alcohol in the tavern; a small stockpile in the corner of the tavern proper will keep your dwarves from socializing in a storeroom.

You can just toggle meeting area/active off right after you mark the zone over booze pile as part of tavern. Even with everything toggled off, it'll still be considere part of tavern, but because it isn't someone's "last remembered" pathing location or meeting area it will draw no dwarves or doggos.
