UlienSize up the other inhabitants of the cabin. Excepting the Inner woman, none of them seem particularly like trustworthy sorts. Especially not the "gentleman" in the croc leather shoes.
[Wits DC10: 11+3=14, 1 DoS]
Ulien watches the others in the cabin warily. The two young men in fur clothes - Hess and Frostbite - have a dangerous air about them. She doesn't doubt that they're experienced killers. As for trustworthy... no-one who is so at ease with a gun can be entirely safe to turn your back on. There's something to Hess that makes her a little anxious - maybe the fast way he took in everyone's luggage and weapons when he entered. Caution, curiosity, or something else?
The one who introduced himself as Sir Rimelight looks like some wild caricature of a gentleman. There's an evident hunger to him, something lurking behind those calm eyes. Definitely dangerous. She can't say about trustworthy. At the least, he has good manners.
The gentleman in the corner is hard to read. He seems perfectly content and at ease reading his newspaper. That kind of calm, feigned or not, usually speaks of confidence and power. That he has a bodyguard with him strengthens that impression. Is his indifference towards his fellow passengers arrogance or callousness, or simply a stiff sort of politeness?
The Inner girl, at the least, doesn't look too dangerous. Ulien just wish she wouldn't keep caving her ribs in with her elbow.

Sir RimelightHe turned instead to the gentleman with the bodyguard, nodding first to the vigilant companion and then focusing on the more refined member.
"Pardon, sir, but I do believe you have the look of an enterprising gentleman about you. Sir Rimelight, if you please."
He extended a hand for the man to shake.
The gentleman lets Sir Rimelight's hand remain in the air for a drawn-out moment. His eyes appraise the Croc over the edge of his newspaper. The man proves evidently satisfactory, as he puts the paper down and shakes Sir Rimelight's hand with a sharp smile on his rugged features.
'You've got that right, sir,' he says.
'Jackson Stern, at your service. Do you trade, sir? Do you trade?'[Learning DC10:

Sir Rimelight recognizes the name. 'Baron Stern' is a prominent rancher in these parts. He doesn't lack in either wealth or influence in the big towns. He's known for being a harsh, ruthless businessman and a demanding employer. One reason why union representatives don't tend to come to the Rime is the lethal hostility awaiting them at the hands of Stern's men.
A faint glimmer of recognition also come to Ulien, Hess, and Frostbite. Some sort of rancher, grown wealthy from the cattle trade?
