You tell the human to bring you to its owner, and it happily leads the way. The owners in fact turn out to be a young runesmith couple who apparently inherited the thrall as a dowry or something, you didn't really pay much attention because you never asked for their life story. The long and short of it is that you tell them that the thrall approached you for clemency and that they should take better care of their property, and the human gives you a hilarious look of utter heartbroken betrayal. The couple thank you for your concern and even give you a little iron ring out of gratitude.

Things settle down again for a while. Unsurprisingly, Abystok seems to get along just fine without a King most of the time; in fact, you sort of suspect that Nedru is making more high-level decisions than you are, not that that's really a problem.

Late Spring, 215

You are visited by a few priests of the corn goddess Fyiania, a niche goddess of certain surface farmers whose following in Abystok is limited to a few migrant families from places where they actually farm on the surface. They're seeking permission to hold a harvest festival of sorts; they assure you they're not looking for funding, as they can finance the party themselves, but just want permission to use the ceremonial hall. You suppose it's possible that some other priests who don't like Fyiania this week — it's impossible to keep up with temple politics — might get miffed or something, but there's not really any obvious downside here. Still, the choice is yours.
