"Fine then. Stand away from the door."

Xenoblade active. Slice through the door.

Not the actual cut art, just the Xenoblade. I think I've seen that I don't quite have the control needed for that.

Elysia
You use the Xenoblade to cut a perfectly straight line through the door.

You hear that curse word again followed by "The door wasn't locked! If an unmarked comes here before we can fix it that's on you!"

You can see into the first room of this house. There are a few pairs of boots by the front door that seem like they could fit the three people from your previous vision. The resident you were talking to is staring at you, and you can hear something stomping and coming towards you...

"Well, perhaps you shouldn't have challenged me to get in. I thought it was, from how you were acting."

"And if one does, I'll deal with it."

Read the future quickly, does one attack?

You do a quick read of the future... No vampires in the immediate vicinity.

The big person from the vision enters the room. He (or she?) is muscular and on closer inspection has a pair of modest sized horns on its head. The first resident makes a gesture towards the big resident, and the big resident sits down on a carpet on the floor.

"An offworld Witch hunter are you? I got a bad feeling about this. Alright. Fine. I'll go over the basics of what you need to know."

"There are three Kings on this planet. Skeeter D. of the Rappas, Melatana of the Selkies, and Amanmet of the Jeli. The kings are the biggest and baddest of the vampires, and they have unimaginable powers. While the power of these vampires is insurmountable, they almost never leave their lairs. They are known for following a set of archaic rules, the details of which we don't fully understand. You won't have to deal with them directly unless you do a lot of damage but if you do there is nothing that will save you."

"There is also at least one Lord. The lords tend to be rather enigmatic. As far as I can tell, they just do whatever they want and go wherever they want to go. They say that if you mess with one of the lords, every vampire around will go after you regardless of their clan. No idea why."

"Beneath the Kings are the Dukes. Each duke controls a specific territory and carries out the will of the Kings. They are powerful in their own right, and their minions are never far. I don't advise going after the Dukes either, they avoid a fair fight whenever they can and they are very good at it."

"Beneath the Lords are Knights. The lord and knight vampires are of a different stock than the others. I've only met one of these guys and she just gather mushrooms near my house for reasons I cannot possibly understand. I'm not sure what to make of them."

"Beneath the Dukes are Mosquitoes. This is the weakest classification of vampire and the one you will most often encounter. They are still stronger than any normal person ought to be though."

"And a special mention should go out to the Unmarked vampires. Its a subcategory of Mosquito that drank the blood of one of the Dukes without their permission. You can identify them by the lack of fang marks on their neck. Only the Kings, Lords and Dukes can make new vampires so the fang marks are difficult to fake. The kings themselves have made it very clear that they do not consider the unmarked worthy of their order, so if you see an Unmarked vampire you can kill it without fear of retribution. And if you think you can then you should. They are by far the most likely kind to kill someone in a predatory attack."

"Hmm."

"I will admit, this world is a bit different to my own."

"Well, two of my abilities are Foresight and Past-Sight. It is that which led me here. That and a book."

Describe the book to them.

"Past-Sight showed you cutting down a tree, and Foresight, a book granting a new ability."

"And when I arrived, I saw this place in ruin. Can't say anything else, I think that might have been a Far-Sight."

"Still, there aren't any Vampires that will come here soon."

Elysia
You start to explain what you are capable of. The resident responds. "You should keep that quiet. You numpty! Are you trying to get me in trouble?" You then hear the voice of the third resident. "You're not being rude to our guest are you?"

A second person with black colored fur emerges from behind the doorway behind the big guy, who has been sitting quietly this whole time. She (or he?) says "You know, that does sound like something we might have. Just a moment".

The new resident leaves the room, and shortly after returns with some kind of book in her hand...

Gilbert
You send a clone to the portal. Before it can go in however, something else comes out!

It has an ominous shifting violet color, humanoid... And at least 50 feet tall. It swats your ice clone out of the sky with its hand. Whatever this thing is, its bad news. You can probably escape from it, or even fight it if you so choose. However, this one is a bit more dangerous than what you are most likely accustomed to. Unless of course Mostibimketh was full of horrible monsters. I wouldn't know.

If the use of bold text was intended to indicate you were using some kind of ability, I have no idea what that would mean and you need to be more specific.

Regardless, you start reading the book... It contains a number of simple food recipes. This is a cookbook. I guess you could classify cooking as a skill, but this probably isn't what you were hoping for.

"I got that book in the hopes of teaching our pet Bravo here how to cook. It didn't turn out very well though. Perhaps you'll have more luck with it."

The big guy looks down at the floor.

Elysia
You use your 読Ether Prediction-Reading on the book. The person who gave it to you previously brought it to this location from somewhere outside of the ether. You are unable to tell its origins beyond that. You are also able to tell that they were not lying about the cooking lessons not going very well.

The most interesting piece of information on the book is the name of the author. "Rufus Nostro, of the Symbel"

Tracking someone, or something, using some kind of object in this manner would only be possible if they crossed a place you have already spread your ether. If this book was ever relevant to your interest, it happened before it entered the ether.

Gilbert
You decide to simply leave the dreamscape. That is certainly one way of avoiding a confrontation; but you'll need to spend some time outside of T'agsassith before you will be able to enter in it a different location. If you change your mind however, returning to the same location would be possible.

Elysia
You ask who Rufus Nostro is. The person who handed you the books says that they do not really know anything about that person.

This prompts the first resident to tell you something else. "That reminds me, the vampires aren't the only monsters that inhabit this world. You also have to watch out for the fiends and their vile creations. The Dukes usually ward off the worst of them but... Well the vampires can be classified fairly easily, but the fiends are a very different thing. Each one is different and that makes them as unpredictable as they are deadly. If something seems... Off... About something, I would recommend that you run. That name sounds sort of fiendish or fiend-like to me"

The other resident speaks again. "Oh, that's actually the name of the book's author."

"Oh. Its probably fine then."
