Elysia
You get out of the vehicle and the gates before you open up. The driver who you now know is named or at least referred to as "Phat catt" drives through them. The guard is now paying attention to you again. "Just wait here until- Hold on. Is that some kind of a weapon you have there?"

This seems to have been the little detail that your earlier vision suggested. Evidently, your Xenoblade is not exactly the kind of thing that civilians would carry for self defense.

"Pretty much. It's actually tied to me, so I can't actually lose it."

"Do you want me to unsummon it?"

Elysia
You inform the guard that not only is the thing you are holding a weapon, but that you are able to make it appear and disappear at will and that you cannot lose it. The guard thinks for a moment.

"Um... Sure. Do that..."

(Tip: Many of your abilities will not be used unless you deliberately choose to use them. For example, ether prediction reading will always show a powerful incoming attack, but predicting someone's intentions requires a deliberate attempt to read them)

Pretty much correct.

Disperse
The Xenoblade flakes away into green bits of light, which then sink into Elysia.

Somehow, being able to put away the Xenoblade like that actually put the guard more on edge than before. She, or possibly he, tells you to "Just wait over there" then turns around and walks through the gate which begins to close behind the guard. The other guard remains where he (or she) is and is looking directly at you. You hear some kind of artificial noise coming from the guard passing through the gate...

Looking beyond the gate reveals... Sort of a distortion. Its different from the anomalies that you have previously witnessed somehow. The colors swirl about more slowly, and it doesn't quite seem out of place. It seems to provoke an odd feeling of alertness...

You decide not to use your advanced information gathering abilities and just focus on adding more ether to the area. This time however, the distortions are left unaffected by the addition of ether. The area seems perfectly stable, so the problem must be something else?

After a couple of minutes the gate opens again and the guard returns to their post. Five more minutes, and the gate opens once again. A green colored vehicle then exits through the gate with a number of people inside it. It then turns around to reveal a large door on the back of it. Someone then gets out of the vehicle to approach you. This person is a bit taller than the others, and appears to have a slightly more fancy outfit.

"I am Como, chief of the Merrow Civil Police. Its to my understanding that your documentation was displaced after a crash landing on this planet. We will be taking you to the Constabulary to see if we can't get all this sorted out. As you are in posession of some manner of weapon that cannot be confiscated, we are going to need you to ride in this armored vehicle until we arrive."

Bow, then get in. Stay polite.

Elysia
You decide to get into the Armored Vehicle. There is a bench on the left and right side, and an overhead light. The room of the vehicle you are in is otherwise empty.

The vehicle starts to move past the wall. At this point things start to get a little strange. The latent psionic forces of this world shift. You hadn't noticed this particular detail until it changed but up until now you were getting a psionic feedback in the form of a relatively large "Blip". It was going at a fast pace before. More recently however you were getting smaller "Blips" at a faster pace. The reason it is so apparant now is that the blips are now so small that they seem to mesh into a static noise.

In laymans terms: The signal to T'agasassith from Ameranthin is weaker than it was in Mostibimketh. The Duchy of Merrow is "Deeper" in T'agasassith than the surrounding area. As a result your signal was sort of "Cut off". Your mental avatar in T'agasassith ended up getting phased back to a more "Shallow" plane of the shattered world.

You now find yourself in a large white room. A black square hole is in the floor, and you can see a distorted image of the inside of the vehicle through it.

Also worthy of notice, is that you can see a suspicious looking book in the white room, which is otherwise empty.

Elysia
You decide to look at the book. It has a plain white cover that has a single word on it. "Merrow". Upon being opened it is revealed that this isn't quite an ordinary book. The writing on the pages is unintelligible, yet looking at it seems to send a psionic message straight to your mind...

Curious images flow through your mind, and they begin to tell a story. It states that the "Selkie" is not exclusively a term that referred to one of the great vampire clans, but also a kind of folkloric creature. This creature had the upper body of a "Poyapturan", and the images you see confirm that a Poyapturan is the kind of creature that you have been interacting with. Their lower body resembles that of a seal. This creature had the ability to "shed" their seal skin to take on the guise of a normal person, and can put the skin back on to return to the waters...

The book then tells you a story. It excludes a lot of the specific details, but the gist of it seems to be that there was once a man who stole the skin of a Selkie. He then locked it away in a box, and forced the Selkie to marry him. One day while out fishing, he realized that he forgot to take the key to the box with him, and when he returned he realized that the Selkie had opened the box and swam away. In a rage, the man tracked her down and killed her Selkie husband and children...

The last page of the book... Its a blank and totally red page.

"Well, this doesn't bode ill at all does it?"

Elysia places the book on the ground in front of her, the red page open to viewing.
"Form, Xenoblade."

"This place appears to be a hub of sorts. Let us make that literal now."
 "World Order: Ether of Thyself"

Ether spreads, turning the white space into an internal hub, allowing transportation over into various areas. A nexus of sorts.

"World Order: World Law. Reading Ether Signature."

"Let the past open a change, a gate to prevent this atrocity."

"I travel, to prevent their deaths, within that world."

Gate Open, Stabilize.

World Law, The Gate!

Elysia
You decide to try to make a hub area out of the nothing space around you. If the world is naught but a memory then it should be possible to get to anything that ever happened right?

In practice it is not so simple. The book carried a message, but no information about how to get there. You attempt to open up a gateway to the world depicted in the books, but the resisting feedback you get is incredible. You feel as though the book would not survive if you tried any harder...

But you did get some kind of result from trying to make a nexus out of this place. Another square portal opens up behind you, this one has a much stronger signal than even the one on the floor. Beyond it, you can see snow on the ground and a few trees. You have been to there before. The reason this area opened up to you must be because of the high concentrations of ether in that place.

.. "Looks like I will need more power to do that."
Close the book. See if I can form a simple bookshelf out of the white. Place the book there for later.

For now I'll head back to what I was doing.

Back in the Portal I came out of. Strengthen the signal here with a concentration of Ether in this hub doing just that. World Order.
