You get into the taxi, and the driver starts to head to the north. It seems a bit odd that the end of the road just happened to be where you encountered it, and that a taxi driver would be there as well. But perhaps its just an odd world. You spread your world order as you go. As the vehicle moves pretty quickly, the ether concentration in the lands driven past is lower than it would otherwise be with a slower means of locomotion. You can see what looks like a couple of farmhouses ahead of you.

The driver speaks.

He seems to have interpreted your literal statements about being a demigod cast out from her world trying to piece something together out of another world as being a bit more figurative story about self discovery or something. Well at least he seems happy.

The vehicle is now passing through what appears to be a small village, and you can see a number of windmills out in the open. The temperature has increased just a bit outside, and the place seems pretty modern at a glance. The vehicle continues to move. You could get out here if you were so inclined, alternatively if you have any questions now would be a good time to ask.

You get this response.

He makes an odd gesture with his hands. A wall about five meters tall can be seen in the distance, it appears to be made out of metal. There are a number of defensible looking towers behind it, and you are heading towards what looks like a gate. If you want to get out before having to deal with that, now is the time.

Close my Eyes and see if I can see the fate that awaits the driver. And my own hopefully. {Reading}

You find it difficult to see any events that occur in a place where you have yet to spread ether. This suggests that you aren't going in circles, which you already knew. All you are able to make out is a single word, in an inquisitive tone... "Weapon?"

Are there any preparations you would like to make?

Not any I really can make. I need my Xenoblade active to use the arts. And it will cut right through the door.

You decide to keep your Xenoblade at the ready. Your driver stops just a short distance before the gate. A bored looking man (or possibly woman) with light grey fur who appears to be of the "common" sapient species that you are getting to be a just a bit familiar with approaches you. Another person stands at the opposite side of the gate.

You notice that the area around you seems more stable than the places before it. It seems like the duchy was alread "Real" before you arrived. This means that ether will spread quicker, but it will also spread less thouroughly as it does not displace the existing matter.

The doorperson says "Alright, lets see your documentation"

Your driver appears to be pretty relaxed right now.

I enter this world- wondering who would lead in a world destroyed so thoroughly that only memories of it remain.

You enter the dreamscape, feeling an odd sense of deja vu... Colors swirl around you and you get a sense of impending danger. You see fragments of mangled metal around you and shards of ice despite the area feeling like room temperature.

The person responds to you. "An offworlder without documentation? You're not getting in here without a military escort". They then look to their companion on the other side of the gate, who takes out some kind of device.

They then approach the vehicle from the driver's side. "And you?"

Your driver produces some papers from a pocket in their jacket, and the guard starts to look at them...

There is enough ether here to do... Something... If you had the inclination.

"That's perfectly fine. It's your city, your rules"

You decide to behave yourself for the time being. The driver gives you a bit of a funny look. The guard reading the papers makes a few comments. "The Duchy of duke Beastie? You're a long way from home Rappa" and about thirty seconds later the guard scowls at him and says "Do you not see a problem with these papers?"

The driver then says. "What's up with the noisy bark~ You can see I got the mark~" as he tilts his head.

The guard then responds. "That's not the problem here. Your driver's license expires tomorrow!"

To which the driver responds. "No need to be so headstrong~ Clearly that means nothings wrong~"

Then the guard speaks and lets out a sigh. "Beastie's Duchy is at least a four day journey from here. How, pray tell, did you intend to get this renewed? Know what? Never mind. I don't care. Its not my problem. Alright. You're clear to enter. Ugh. Phat Catt. Just as soon as this... Um. Person.. Gets out."
