Demigodhood Multiverse: Terra
« on: July 18, 2018, 05:20:55 pm »

Spoiler: Map of Terra (click to show/hide)

A hundred years have passed since the destruction of the World Tree.
The People have come together to form new lands. By mutual consensus, Each of the Major Factions moved to lands suited for them.

Uraya has taken the lush waterlands.
Mor Ardain, the sweltering deserts and savanna.
Tantal the Cold Norths.
Gormott, the Lush Fruitful Plains and Forests.

No matter their place, the lands prove rich, perfect for them. The Trade Guilds flourish.

It is into this land that you enter. Many are the creatures that inhabit it.

Your Goal, to activate the Gates scattered across the World. Good Luck.

Note, outside of broad actions, turns can update quickly. Currently, Gaal'garot is in such a situation. Set-up time. Don't Die.

Fight or Flight? What will your choice be..
Reguardless, if it's fight, their will be many actions. Good luck,{why all the 1s?}

Roll for advantage
1-4, roll was 1.

Gaal'garot
The first thing you notice is the sweltering heat. You appear to be in some sort of cave. Metal Pipes run across the walls, and the air is steamy, humid.

Behind you is a tunnel, and in front, more tunnels branching out. There are 3 paths.

Next action?

Gaal'garot remains stationary and attempts to get his bearings on the new world. He sniffs at the air, to see if he can detect blood and the people who have it. His ears perk up and he listens to hear which sounds are coming from which directions using his Enhanced Senses ability.

He also tries gently touching the pipes to see if their contents have a higher temperature than the surrounding air.

He can smell humans, and.. Something else. He also smells a number of animals. And... Sulfer, this place is near magma flows.

The pipes feel warm, but not hot. They seem to be some sort of bronze?

You try and listen.
You can hear air rushing, but nothing useful. Some animal life down the right tunnel.

Gaal'garot takes a moment to determine if the air seems to be moving at a consistent speed or if it varies. He then starts to move silently in the direction that seems most likely to lead towards the humans.

You head down the tunnel behind you, following the pipes.

Unfortunately, there are even more paths. You can hear that rushing sound.

Do you head toward it, or look around the other paths?

Note, the scents are in the stone, so humans do travel these tunnels.

Gaal'garot decided instead to simply wait for a while. With some time he might be able to get a feel for the world's day/night cycle based on temperature gradients, and get a better feel for the area based on the movement of living entities. A large intersection would be a probable place to find someone, and he already had an idea of what he was going to do. He took a moment to see if there were any half decent places to conceal himself nearby; though he feels as though a hiding place would not be strictly necessary for his intentions.

Unfortunately, these tunnels don't have many places to hide you've come across. You settle down to wait and Listen.

Roll, 1 out of 3.
Time, 1 out of 6.

Barely an hour has passed before you hear something coming your way down the tunnels. Footsteps and chatter in a language you do not know.

There seem to be four, and they will cross the intersection in front of you if you wait a bit longer.

Action?

Gaal'garot considers the situation. A group of four people wasn't ideal, as a multitude of factors would prevent him from being able to discreetly dispose of four bodies reliably. Factors such being in a foreign world, not knowing where he actually was, and the language barrier would be an issue as well.

Still though, these people probably knew where they were going; and they probably wouldn't stick together for all eternity. Gaal'garot decided to spend a bit of time stalking them. He would do so by taking an educated guess of which corridor was the least frequently traversed based on observations made by his sense of smell, and by the dust on the floor. He would enter that tunnel and then take another turn then discern the path that the people take at the intersection, then he would follow them at a considerable distance and observe.

If they appeared to be taking the path that he guessed they wouldn't, then he would continue down that path until he got to another intersection to take another guess at a tunnel, or until he encountered something of interest.

Action, follow-
Processing,

Gaal'garot retreats down the tunnel a ways, and listens.

The main chatter appears to be by two of them. Children.. While the other voices appear muffled.

Further action?(or continue current actions?)

A few ideas come to Gaal'garot's mind, but ultimately he decides to continue with his current plan of action; people here may behave very differently from what he is accustomed to.

Voices and chatter,***

They stopped at the cross.

They appear to be discussing something.

You smell that strange scent again.

Gaal'garot takes his time to consider the situation, and distances himself just a bit more as the exact things they are saying are not important if he cannot understand them. Instead, he sniffs at the air to assess the situation again. Is the smell of sulfur getting stronger than it was before? This was his primary focus right now.

His secondary focus was to see if he could detect the blood of any other people, or animals in the vicinity. While he was confident in his abilities, extremely old vampires do not get to be extremely old vampires by being careless.

And there seemed to be something a bit... off... about the situation he was in. He suspected he was around some kind of metalworking factory or this worlds equivalent which was not exactly a place one would typically bring their children from where he came from; doubly so if no other people were anywhere nearby. He considered the possibility that they might actually be something that is not entirely human...
