Gaal'garot figures that this was a better idea in theory than in practice. He definitely didn't forget to equip the pipe with the tail arm, so he must have made some other mistake. He would run a deeper scan of the memories to figure out precisely what it was that he did, not that he really cared all that much. It could have been his scent, this bunnit might have belonged to a different hollow or maybe they had some degree of awareness of what happened to it. Heck, it could even be something as silly as being too effective at hunting!

Unless he can think of a reason to do otherwise, Gaal'garot decides to leave the food and then exit the hollow. Then move down the corridor back the way he came, transform into a Bat and wait things out on the ceiling.

You wait in shadows on the ceiling.

3 hours pass when you hear something moving.

From your memories, it seems the snake is moving. Probably either hunting or drinking.

Gaal'garot did indeed consider this noteworthy... But not necessarily anything that he needed to concern himself with. If it actually came towards him, then he would be tempted to act... He had no reason to believe that the snake would draw unwanted attention to him, so he continued to wait...

Another hour passes. The sun will soon set, and the cavern is bathed in orange light.

Being reflected light, it won't kill you, but it will still weaken your regen if you're in it.

You hear footsteps coming into the cave. 6 of them apparently.

Gaal'garot remains perfectly still in bat form, but pays close attention to the six people using his enhanced senses...

Those two kids again. Your ES also shows two men with them, and.. ? Some beast is with them. It and the other smell strange. Similar to that flame girl.

Gaal'garot considers the situation. If he noticed them entering the cave but not actually leaving it, then that meant that there was more than one exit. Although the fact that the sun could shine in from the ceiling meant he could get out through the top of the cave as well just as soon as night fell.

He decided to just assume the worst case scenario that this group consisted of dedicated vampire hunters, and he was not keen on doing any serious fighting with the cave as it is right now. He would fly in the other direction in bat form.

17 minutes until sunset. The cave begins to darken, but streamers of light still flood part of it. It will be 8 minutes till those stop.

The snake appears to no longer be in the cave, so that's probably why they chose now to enter.

You hear their conversation. 6 different voices.

It appears the beast found the husks, or what was left of them from being crushed.

Gaal'garot predicted that their animal now had caught onto his scent. But there were ways to counter this as he knew of a place with clean water; the lake! he could use that to clean off his scent if they hadn't already got that far.

They speak for a bit more as you head to a place in the bat's memory to wash off.

As y-

The exact meaning behind "Focus" in this context was unclear; but it was probably intended for the purpose of gathering information...

It only now occurred to Gaal'garot that up until now he had been ignoring the unique laws of physics in this world. "Thought=Ether and Ether=Concept". The magic that was being used against him must relate to this in some way. If even a child could figure out how to use this kind of ability, then so too could he. Perhaps he should have been pondering it as he waited; but as the saying goes: The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The next best time is now. He considers the ability "Sonic Screech". The concept of it is that it produces a sonic based attack via vocalization, or at least that is the case with his current understanding of the word concept... He might need some better blood to truly understand this all.

He would continue his original plan of washing off at the lake. There were probably still trace amounts of his own blood on his body which could potentially infect the lake... But with the dimming of the sunlight this was a bit less of a concern. After that, he would keep moving to put some more distance between himself and the group using his Supernatural Dexterity. The next thing he would look for is another intersecting cave section.

As you wash, they come up to and cross the lake.

The two children are speaking. While the creature's eyesight is not perfect, it does retain the boost you give it. You can see the beast you were hearing earlier has light coming from it, and another figure also has light coming from it.

Movement Action confirm? Or something else.

Gaal'garot notes that the group is moving past the lake, which strongly implies that they did not yet make the connection between himself and his bat form. Or maybe they were looking for something else entirely. This meant that he had one more advantage than he thought he had.

The bats had the knowledge to "Avoid the beings with the light". Instead of his original plan, he would now avoid the light in the same way that a bat would try to avoid it. The ideal situation here is that he would be able to pretend to be an ordinary bat, and they would go to explore somewhere else before they could connect the dots.

You move.

Prominent Ascent!

And you understood that. ...You can hear crackling fire heading straight for you as you fly over the lake.

Not quite Gaal'garot's ideal situation. Now it was time for some acting skills. He waits until the last moment, then evades the attack by moving straight down using his supernatural dexterity. Once he clears the attack, he lets gravity do the rest of the work and slashes down into the lake. Then he remains totally still using his Stealth ability, yet remained highly alert...

As he does not need to breathe in order to survive, he could simply play dead at the bottom of the lake... Even if the facade doesn't work, a fire attack would be less effective against something underwater, and the previously washed off blood would make physically entering the lake quite hazardous.
