Kaiser Simon Heinrich II has prepared the plans for the reunification war of the German lands.
Free Imperial Cities produce a large amount of taxation thanks to their priviledges in trading, therefore those will be vassalized. Aachen and Alsace are already vassals, therefore we must acquire control over Memmingen and Regensburg.
Baden-Ansbach as well as Wurttemberg are in middle of the nation, and thus can be retained, as they also provide large amounts of tax.
Archbishoprics of Trier and Wurzburg will be annexed by force. These backwater nations cannot simply provide a satisfactory amount of coin if vassalized.
Small nations in southeast, like Bavaria, Salzburg and Augsburg will be annexed, too.
In the north, Stettin, with its highly developed port, will be taken as a vassal. Verden, Saxe-Lauenburg (based in Hamburg) will be annexed. Holstein, due to its sizeable colonies, will be only vassalized.
We will launch reconquest campaigns against Poland for Hinterpommern - connecting us to Danzig - as well as Bohemia, to retake Lienz in the south; and to get us faster path to Austrian lands, we will take Sudetenla- I mean, Sudety mountains, as well.
Finally, Austria and Carniola will be reduced in size and then vassalized; both have colonies around the world, therefore it would take too much time to conquer them all.
Additional armies will be created to accomplish multi-front objectives faster, and Simon Heinrich II wonders if the initial plan will go smoothly or there will be changes... there will definitely be changes, it's like this every time. Oh well!
And finally, thanks to our loosening of mercantilist priorities - as well as change of National Ideas - we were able to trade in foreign Centres of Trade well enough we obtain benefits of Wine and Iron trade.
Hopefully, we can get into Grain and Copper trade as well.
As preparations to the war enter final phase, Baden-Ansbach agreed to become our vassals.
We're exerting similar diplomatic pressure upon Wurttemberg, but it's ruling family so far has been stubborn.
Finally, they relent, and just in time; by New Year, we should have enough diplomats ready to declare war simultaneously on Poland, Bohemia, Austria, Carniola and Augsburg.
Opening battles fare well. Poland is assisted by several nations, like England, but Augsburg, Bohemia and Austria stand alone. Bohemians however have enough forces to pose a threat, at least until we knock them out.
And they're wiped out. Nothing stands in our way to conquer the lands that will make up the Greater Germany!
Meanwhile, our ally Genoa, has launched a successful landing in the British Isles. Most impressive, I must say!
Treaty of Bavaria has us incorporate Ausgburg and Salzburg lands into Germany.
Immediately after the truce, we declare war against Carniola with intent to vassalize them.
In middle of the wars, our Bavarian subjects decide to begin the tradition of Oktoberfest.
Freibier fur alles, of course, but couldn't you guys have waited a couple years? We're kind too busy to be partying!
After Battle of Istria, we drive troops of Carniolans into their capital, where they are destroyed and a siege begins.
The same day, we deliver declarations of war against Wurzburg and Trier; the former actually produces quite a lot of money, and will be spared - Trier, on other hand, is slated for annexation.
These declarations draw in Verden, Meissen, Pomerania, Memmingen and others into the war. Perfect - we can vassalize these countries without further conflicts!
Bohemia capitulates to our demands, and next day, we force Austria to give us province of Graz. Though immediately we start another war; Austria
will become our vassals!
Regensburg unfortunately had to distinction to blob at worst moment, and thus losing the status of Free Imperial City, so that's why it has been annexed.
Carniola surrenders next, and we have them as vassals.
Few months later, the City of Memmingen also surrenders and becomes German vassal!
With vassalization of Prussia, we now have a direct land route to Kurland and Memel. It wasn't necessary, but is nice to have anyway.
And that allows us to conclude a treaty with Lithuania; we force them to abandon some treaties, like with Holstein, and give us a tribute of 800 ducats.
With Serbia no longer involved in our wars, it had the time to finally establish itself as Yugoslavia; nation of all southern slavs.
Good for them! And it's first time I see an AI accomplish this unification, very nice.
With Duchy of Pomerania and Republic of Verden under our seniority, we finally annex Trier.
This allows us to concentrate on final pieces of reunification - annexation of Hamburg and vassalization of Holstein!
Few weeks after we annex Hamburg and vassalize Holstein, Austria finally relents and becomes our vassal. Our conquest planss have been fulfilled.
Sing praise of the house Von Mecklenburg, for it has truly united Germans under one banner! Long live von Mecklenburg dynasty! Long live United German Nation!!
