41-20-30-4*0+16*2 23% to hit
Roll 66 fail
Crit fail? 1.

You have honestly been lucky that nobody crit failed yet.

Hikano flanks around the target, who spectacularly fails to eat the offered bullet. How did someone with such poor manners ever get to be an overseer?

Move to 7, 11. Use a stimpak on Frank.

I'm not even going to try and shoot.

55-30+16*8-4*0-60-20= 73%
Roll 25!
Crit roll 23! A crit!
Crit table roll 81. 4th box, Deathclaw table. *6 damage, En-2 or blinded, armor bypassed.
Damage base 5
5*2*6 60 base damage
-1 from armor
DR: (40+30)/5 to 14. 14+25 =39
59*.39=23 and change. Final damage 36.
Blinded? Roll 1, no.
The prayers to the RNG gods work,  Slipping past the huge claws to strike the monster. The Deathclaw shakes and growls.

Vakk 7/45.

You really should have killed that dude first :V

I was right there, how did I miss..

Because you suck at ranged combat :V

Frank is healed by a stimpak, making him even further from being dead. +13 HP, 29/34.

It is now Frank's turn

Right. 60 base including the 6.
Armor bypass reduces his 40 and finnesse's 30 to 1/5, then ammunition modifiers are added.
Reduce that by the DR and you end up with 36.
Subtract what the crowbar did and this is what you get :V

Well then.

I think afterwords, I'm going to try to make these test battles into a short story.

Oh look, more indisputable proof I am at a disadvantage without strong attacks because I can be wiped by a single crit

I figure at some point, you're just gonna run outta fucks to give and just off yourself whenever you get hurt at all. It's not like there's any downsides to it. Hangover? Suicide will fix that. Stubbed your toe? Suicide. Headache? Suicide. Papercut? Suicide.

Literally anybody can be wiped out by a single crit.
A human would be blinded and would have lost their next turn with the same roll :V.
Letting you kill anyone in one turn isn't exactly balanced against someone getting a lucky hit to your weakpoint.

Except I didn't kill anyone in one turn because A) stimpacks, B) the fact that I am limited to only basic unarmed attacks, and C) the fact that YOU ALREADY NERFED MY DAMAGE OUTPUT
I mean really, you're neutering a brawler who is COMPLETELY INCAPABLE OF RANGED COMBAT, and that's on top of the existing plans to nerf my character's deathclaw bonuses by making them scale with level!

You would have killed them if you got your fourth attack in. And I am not going to give the badguys too many stimpacks, and this is just a testing so it doesn't matter if you kill anyone here or not :V.

Currently, you have:
-Armor equivalent to the second best tier
-Permanently over the maximum AP by a large margin
-A different critical table

If we compared you directly to the theoretical Human Vakk, you would deal 3/4 the damage and take more in return.

Ranged combat isn't a huge advantage. It takes forever to get to the point anyone can hit you beyond 10 hexes, and you can cover even the longest practical fighting distances in a handful of turns. I mean look at this fight. The "ranged" fighters are standing right next to you and still missing their shots. I mean, the game favors picking one thing and sticking to it. The theoretical human punchy Vakk would have the options, but he would never actually use them, making them not much of a penalty in the first place.

Edit, to put it this way, that "massive critical" does 2 times what you do in one turn. When you miss 1/4 of your attacks and have no crits. He needed a 6X multiplier to get what you get.
Edgar has a 36/2 or average of 18 damage a turn.
You have done 21+18/2 or 19.5 damage a turn.
You are outshooting the second best by a large margin, AFTER HE GOT LUCKY, and would be almost DOUBLING it if I didn't nerf you.
Frank: Average 3 damage a turn.
Hikano: Average 0 damage a turn
Blaine: 13+14 = 13.5 healing/turn

And the math is using the initial damage rolls, simply because I am intellectually dishonest and the numbers look better.

... Can I have a knife of some sort?

Sure. Knives suck though :V

Even a tool like a wrench or a sharpened stick would be better than a knife.
