Try to calm down and recover my breath. Then, look around for any fallen bodies of the fire-creatures, as well as the location of the teleporter. I might need to retreat, and even if not, a few dead ones should be good for something.
(2) you manage to retreat to the portal, but do not get any dead birds to take back with you. Looking at the situation, you reason it might be the better part of valor to head back and try a different location. However, if you can weather it, there is still payoff to be had here. Risky though.

(1) Nice. Check the end of the post for the effects.
Take advantage of the situation and attempt to scan the area on the other side of the nearest door
(3) Nearest door is the big ornate one. other side of the door is more carpet, some thick drapes, and some tall, ornate pillars. that's as far as your scan gets before things happen.
Return to my weapons station.
(3) you rush over and slap Spaz' porcelain hand away from the gunnery display with a disapproving expression. Seeing what he's triggered, you hastily buckle yourself into the crash chair, just in time.
The bugship shoots out a series of electrical discharges, enshrouding its carapace in static and ozone. Additionally, several missile tubes fire, sending their ammo in seemingly slow, lazy spirals in a variety of directions. The payloads all go off simultaneously. Instead of a loud, fiery explosion, you get a set of muffled puffs. Then, the air around each missile distorts, sending a weird mirage rippling out in all directions. The carpet below the closest explosion suddenly stiffens, then shatters into sparkly dust. as you are wondering what happened, the bugship is buffeted by the shockwaves of the mirage, sending her (and you guys) tumbling (5) directly out the nearest window into the courtyard. Every control locks up and the screen goes frosty white. As it slowly clears, you see a vague, but rather large, shape growing rapidly in the viewscreen. a variety of alarms start flashing on the bugship's screen, and the largest is one that screams IMPACT IMMANENT!" at you in neon hues.
