Because there's a lot of people asking for it.
The first players are in Auroch by chance, a bunch of random people that heard about the treasure and wanted to know more about it. They will find themselves in the middle of a situation and will have to work together to get out of it. More players will be able to join later in the story. Keep in mind this might change depending on the players who join. You'll be starting as trainees.
Places:
New Ixion:
After the Chaos War and the death of King Rygar Ixion split into small territories ruled by warlords with their own small armies. Usually former high ranking members of the old Ixion military hierarchy, there was one that stood over the rest. Silfursverd, the Iron Lady as she was known later, started the reunification after the defeat of Wulfgar, with most of the warlords coming together and forming a new type of government.
Badlands:
Some territories refuse to join New Ixion's style of government, and have managed to stay independent through the discipline and defensive prowess that the old Ixion doctrine imparted them. Some others are lawless lands where bandits roam freely, often seen as not worth the time fighting. Strohnban has fallen into this type of land after the prison island descended into riots following Ixion's collapse.
Theocracy of Alberal:
Although Alberal had been prosperous thanks to the religious unity of the people, under Archbishop Cedric they started improving relationships with their godless neighbors. That all has changed with his sudden death, as his successor Archbishop Cesare is significantly less tolerant of heresies. In his attempts to increase the holiness and power of the land, witch hunts are on the rise and all contact with Kizamo has stopped.
Republic of Kizamo:
The Council of Archmages was always open to progress, but not much with openness itself. After the war, at Veyriden's representative Phineas' proposal, they started opening up beyond their desert, taking control of territories that might have been left on their own, and trading both items and knowledge with the neighboring countries. However tensions with Alberal rise as Kizamo does not want to lose the grip they have earned on fertile lands.
City of Auroch:
The city was rebuilt in a spectacular manner after the war, thanks to help from both Alberal and Kizamo. The result is a mix of culture, technology and architecture completely unique in the continent, although this does not come without problems. The size of the city has grown too fast for law enforcement to keep up, and several gangs fight between each other for control of the less fortunate boroughs. To make matters worse, Archbishop Cesare really dislikes the state Auroch is in, wanting to bring it back to, in his opinion, its righteous state, but does not dare to go directly against Lady Anne-Laude, who after personally taking part in the Chaos War, enjoys a good reputation amongst the population.
United Dargas:
The mountain clans have reached the conclusion that union is necessary if they want to survive against contingencies larger than their own squabbles. This is much easier said than done, as the differences between clans are often too large to have lasting peace. In the last few years there have been meetings between various clan leaders, but all is up in the air as no one wants any particular clan or alliance to gain an advantage over others.
Warche Island:
An island created by very active volcanoes, nothing lives here for long before being charred by a volcanic eruption. Clouds of ashes coming from these eruptions are sometimes seen over the sky of the mainland, producing a very unpleasant rain. This kind of activity is picking up lately, giving rise to rumors that dragons live in the island and their growth is causing the eruptions.
Religion:
Alberal's main god is a representation of the Earth, which they call Bor. Other minor gods revered by a part of the people are representations of the sea, sun and sky. Ixion isn't preoccupied with religion as much as with training, while Kizamo only reveres their own genius, and each clan of Dargas has its own religion.
