Should we add a radio too the emu? Or does it already have one.

Emu doesn't have a radio, because radios are heavy right now its its job is a fighter, not a fighter bomber, not yet at least. Besides, it costs enough already.

Also even if they just slapped a foster mount on their feather, it would be better then the Rhino, which if they didn't manage to make a brand new fighter this turn like what happened with us and the Emu, they probably did. Personally, I would like if you made it so the revision also includes arlirons for the rhino too so it can at least be somewhat useful, but thats probably too much for one revision.

Also, I picked emu because I felt we had a kind of arid animal theme. Other names I was thinking for future aircraft where Lion, Gazelle, Ostrich, and Hyena.

What about the African Swallow?

I'm up for cheapening the Emu.  It's more than twice as expensive as our Rhino, and it might need more than a single revision for cost-cutting measures.

But we have plenty of time to worry about that later.

Right now, we don't have a radio at all. We're going to ask the Army for one next turn and hope it isn't too heavy.

Verusa Revision Phase, Late Summer 1915:

Quote from: Rhino Horn Revision
The Rhino is to have a mount installed on the top wing which supports one forward-facing Bolt machine gun. It feeds its belt up a rail from a container behind the pilot and can be fired by a trigger the pilot has access to.

Efficacy: 3

The Rhino Horn mount performs adequately, allowing the Bolt machinegun to be mounted on a Rhino. The Bolt can be swung back to access its breech in flight, and the simple expedient of a cord allows the pilot to squeeze the trigger from his seat. Rounds fired from a Horn-mounted machinegun are somewhat inaccurate, but this is outweighed by the sheer volume of fire we are now able to bring into the air (as compared to rifles and pistols). The same group of engineers that pointed out the Emu is a flightless bird also points out that the Horn mount is curving in the wrong direction as compared to a real rhino’s horn.

You can now mount Bolt Machine Guns onto Rhinos.

It is now the Production & Deployment Phase, Late Summer 1915. You have 11 production points remaining.

Do we need to leave PP spare for maintenance or not? If not, I'll go with the balloon spam plan.

Whoops, yeah we need PP for maintenance. I had thought the PP was already subtracted but on double checking that was from PP spent on designs not maintenance. Gimme a minute to edit it.

As I, er, accidentally asked in the core thread, are we able to deploy Rhinos to the naval front?

So what should we call the Emu squadrons when we start using them? Bishops? Men at arms?
but other than that I like your plan Jerick.

Emu and future fighter squads should be Knights. CAS can be Archers. Tactical bombers can be Catapults. Strategic bombers can be Trebuchets. Alternatively, CAS can be Bishops, Tactical can be Queens, and Strategic can be Kings if we want a chess theme

If we want to make a difference in naval combat, we should develop a float plane and catapult.

Probably will require a turret space, which the navy won't like at first, but they'll learn quickly how useful a scout is.

That would be better if the plane we make for naval assistance has a radio. That way they can get real time updates on the situation.
