Battles take place in a single post, with the old Screens being hidden as it goes on in Spoilers. Sadly, this means that I, the Hint Box, will be revealed as well.
A map is divided into Tiles, Grids, and Quadrants. There is only a single Quadrant in this post, and they are made up of no more than 26 letters and a number of numbers.
This info won't be truly necessary for a while, outside of plains.
Movement- Each unit has a number of movement. You move by specifying your current location and then, (L# > M#) using the arrow symbol.
Battles between Units- After you move, you can attack someone within range in the same action. You could also use an Item if needed.
This is done by using this (; Name attacks N# with {Weapon Name}) to determine your target.
There are some cases where this will happen automatically if you pass them, but we'll cover that when it comes up.
Enemy Strategy: If you think the enemy will just charge into you, here's a bit of news.
The behavior of enemy units is determined by their Group, Objective, Morale, Training, Tactics, & Instinct.
Pay attention to what it is, and what it wants, and you can predict their movements.
These enemies are using Charge as their Primary Tactic.
Special Skills/Unique Actions: Being the possessor of the Skill, Magical Being, you have access to two Unique Actions.
Magical Being: Influx: You can activate this skill to add your Magic Stat to your Strength, or vice versa.
This does not preclude attacking, simply declare it before you enter your Attack or Item action. It does prevent you from moving the rest of the turn however.
Magical Being: Sense Mana: This skill can be used both in and out of battle. It does have a cooldown of three turns, but you use it before you move that turn.
There may be some enemies that you can't see the strength of for some reason. Use this to get a gauge of their worth.
Note that this action falls under Rolls. The same rules on difficulty apply here.
Dragonbreath: Dragonstones use your STR or MAG score to help calculate RES damage. What a stone uses, and it's effects, depend on the Dragonstone itself.
Your current Dragonstone will deal 3 more damage when on a Lavastone Tile. It will deal 1 more when next to it.
In addition, being a Fire Dragon means you won't take any damage on a Lavastone, & you'll gain +10 Evade on it.
Levitation Move Type: Levitation is used by those close to the flows of magic, usually. You however, are a Manakete.
While you have not yet come into your wings, you can travel across water, and in this case, Lava.
There are a number of other actions your ability affords you, but these will be brought up as they come along.
This maps tiles of note are the Crevice, the Ascending Cliffs, and a Barrier. You can cross the first, and climb the second for 2 Movement, as well as land on cliff edges.
The Last however is uncross-able, but this means it serves a suitable choke point. The Barrier Square runs from L-7 to P1.
You can enter by crossing from J-2 through K-2, to L-2. you cannot Levitate while within however, and this one grounds Fliers. This knocks your Movement down by 1 within.
It should be noted, the Wall that runs South to North cannot be crossed by you from lower ground. In addition, Reinforcements will enter on this map.
It should also be noted, these units have Canto, which allows them to use their remaining move to retreat after a battle, so long as the have +2 Move left.
These units cannot cross directly backward though.
I believe this is it, be free to ask any questions if you need answers, and I will acquiesce.
