"Not really, you guys seem to do a good job of sowing Cataclysm yourselves.. Mutations, really?"

"And there is a prophecy about another Cataclysm active at the moment. We're preparing."

"Also, it would be really nice if those mortals didn't try and kill each other off, again.. Climb the Yggdrasil instead."

Prophecy? What Prophecy?

As for the other gods, I believe the saner ones have been successful in preventing things thus far. Get used to it - someone's always trying to commit genocide or dump hallucinogens everywhere. They don't get far.

Foxmox: "The next cataclysm to occur will be really really nasty in spite of the efforts of a lot of gods but at least the Sharp Foxes as a species will survive by escaping to the Fertile Continent in the House of the Rising Sun!" [C13]

"is what the Slab of Prophecies said. As well, someone thought it was a good idea to use corrupted essence.. Really now,"

Kel laughs.

Oh, that. The Slab of Prophecies is just a bunch of predictions from us. Sort of like shooting a crossbow in the dark for a prize if you hit the target. Ignore them.

Besides, that particular one was referring to the Darkest Day, which already happened.

Based on the fact that I think this was written around our arrival, We believe it refers to a possible second. Laughing at the discord that was sown through the corrupt essence, is not the brightest move in the world. The fact one even happened in the first place..."

*ahem*
Allow me to clear up the timeline on this for you.
The original Cataclysm occurred due to X'arilyg's attempt to kill me. While, as you can see, it did not work, there was still a large quantity of collateral damage on both Dirt and the moon.
After a long period of inactivity, Ema awoke again, and we were informed that there would be a second Cataclysm, worse than the first. This is when Lifestealer - ahem, "Foxmox" - made their prophecy.  Part of why it's still there is because his Sharp Foxes did not survive, and for that matter, because there is no longer such thing as the Fertile Continent.
In other words: the "next Cataclysm" referred to in the prophecy already occurred.

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

"Prophecies are not any more likely to come to pass than anything else. It's just a form of legalised gambling.

And nobody listens to the Lifestealer anyway.

"Well, Kaze-chan will be happy to hear that. Still, a few of this Quintessence would be nice to have for us."

"We'll still need to finish the first though, no need to leave the Locations unfilled."

And I'm the one that has it, with multiple people asking me to use it on their behalf. Why, exactly, do you want it, and why should I grant it to you?

"Well, mostly as a power up. We kinda have to compound our power right now. Using it to boost ourselves would take three turns. That would more require the votes to be placed on us though, since then we could use it."

"... Assuming we're voted, we could give out the leftover Quintessence. How is someone voted to receive it anyway, and how many turns do they keep it?"

Should probably get some rest...

"See ya~ And don't destroy too much!"

Alright, so. I've actually just been discussing this with Ema to make sure I understood.
On every fifth cycle, there will be a vote; every god that has not been demoted to Lesser God may participate.
In order to become a Primordial, you must receive three votes. This also goes for maintaining Primordial status. One could remain a Primordial indefinitely so long as they continued to receive votes each voting cycle.
Do you understand?

"Is that so? then perhaps you should be a bit more grateful for my gift. You didn't have to deal with that during the cycle you arrived. And that was on top of being the strongest among the second wave.
Either way, Know that you have my vote, as you have yet to prove my initial assumptions wrong."

I figure at some point, you're just gonna run outta fucks to give and just off yourself whenever you get hurt at all. It's not like there's any downsides to it. Hangover? Suicide will fix that. Stubbed your toe? Suicide. Headache? Suicide. Papercut? Suicide.

Yeah sorry, someone blew up a street in my state and took the internet down for multiple days with it.
This really happened. 2020 was wild.
