Ema: a Story of Gods
(OOC)

Cycle 13: And I Said "May the World and all its Creations feel my Will"

The Primordial One left as abruptly as he came. Behind him, he left a seed of Discord to fulfill the coming of the second Cataclysm. The question of the Major God Tachyon Everlord was answered with a single word.

"Ema."

------Acter Nobody------

Acter Nobody refused to let the coming calamity undo the efforts of many creators. The Primordial God created two Blessings, one for the Moon and one for Dirt (2GE).
A Blessing of reduced ruthlessness on the Moon.
A Blessing to revert the damage caused to the climate of the damaged regions of Dirt.

Then, using their Quintessence, Acter created an Aspect of Improvement: Julius. He was to prepare the Mortals for the next disaster, starting from the people of the Moon and then of Dirt.

------Tachyon Everlord------

Tachyon Everlord attempted to harness the residual power of the Primordial Discord to restore the once great Drogos Civilization, to which he complemented his own power. (1GE and 2E)

First, he cast a Blessing (1E) to heal the wounded Anchor.
Second, he raised from dirt the Darselav Cities of yore, in all their prime and grandeur. (1E)
Lastly, he brought back from the dead as many Drogos of Darselav as possible, returning their souls to their restored bodies. (1GE)

One may wonder why the Major God choose to mix these acts with the Discord. There was a significant consequence of such a decision. The Anchor, as well as the returned Drogos held in their very beings the seed of Discord.

------Kel------

Kel created a Region (1E) that he named the Basin, in the underground of Tarrant. He then filled this underground region with a complete ecosystem (1GE).

Manual Labor: [5]
Without using divine essence, Kel then crafted a Magic Artifact, the Book of Dirt. Carrying it with him, he returned to the Divine Place.

Spoiler: The Bassin's Ecosystem (click to show/hide)

------Manannan Silverhand------

Manannan Silverhand dripped over the Torus Continent, straight into the lifeless Torus Inner Sea. The essence of the God mixed with the sterile water, birthing new life. A dreadful race of beings was born, the Näcke (1GE), a race of Monsters whose purpose was to drown the world.

Spoiler: The Näcke (Monsters) (click to show/hide)

------Foxmox------

Foxmox was worried for the fate of the Sharp Foxes. To save them from an incoming doom, the God created a Greater Servant of unparalleled size. The House of the Rising Sun (1GE), a flying city, appeared right above Nicolai and Thousandtails.

Foxmox warned his Servants of the calamity to come, and ordered them to rescue the Sharp Foxes. They were sent to the Kingdom of Maxin, after which they were told to head for the Fertile Continent.

A bit warily, Foxmox waited a bit. Seeing no Gods were going to oppose the Servants, he weaved a Law and bound it to the House of the Rising Sun.

------Innanis Dominus------

Innanis Dominus used all of his power to cast a Blessing (1GE 2E) all over the Moon. This nameless blessing was meant to protect the moon and its creations.

------X'arilyg------

X'arilyg upgraded the Information Processor into a Keystone. The improved Artifact was named the Mind Hexadecachoron (3E).

He then secretly returned to his Realm in the Other Plane.

------Mpaïspmapma------

Mpaïspmapma already languished at the very idea of the House of the Rising Sun. She sent a yearning whisper to their star-crossed, possibly one-sided love.

[1]+3

The House attempted to dismiss the plaint of the cow, this haunting moo. But the calling was too much, and soon the House yearned too. The House sealed the yearning in a piece of itself and split from it. A Greater Monster was born from the act, a hungry wave of stone, driven only by an unsatiable yearning. It devoured everything in its wake, trying to satiate this need.

Then, to remember their impossible love, the Cow blessed Torus with Fertility.

------Mavnon------

Mavnon created an ecosystem for Tranullis (1GE), one full of deadly creatures and vegetation. Then to further her obscure plans, she created a Servant, The Mist, Pleasureful Smog of Singular Value (1E).

Afterward, Mavnon went around warning mortals of the coming cataclysm, as well as creating rumours of a promised land: Tranullis.

------Eris and Discordia------

Eris and Discordia secretly cursed the whole world of Dirt with a rain of huge, ornate gift baskets that ran across the whole world. These devilish baskets were in their own words "filled with lots of delicious food (sweets, pastries, candy, fruit, etc.) and highly alcoholic drinks, maybe include some shiny and valuable jewelry if possible for the extra evil".

They then inscribed their names on the baskets, so that the mortals may know which terrible beings cursed them.

------Maex------

Maex created an abomination among abominations. A benevolent Dexoth. This Dexoth, with the power of a Greater Monster (1GE), was placed in the sea of the Moon. Speaking to its first child, Maex told him to see, know and act.

Afterward, Maex selected the most benevolent of the Dexoths and sent them to the Moon. Surprisingly, there were quite a few benevolent Dexoths. The God selected a few chosen ones, and sent them to the Moon.

Finally, Maex blessed the Dexoths of the Moon with the ability to foresee the future. (1E)

------Votes------

Quote from: Votes
Unavailable until the 15th Cycle

------Prophecies------

Foxmox: "The next cataclysm to occur will be really really nasty in spite of the efforts of a lot of gods but at least the Sharp Foxes as a species will survive by escaping to the Fertile Continent in the House of the Rising Sun!"

CARVER TURN

Time flowed, and the Thirteenth Cycle was reached. Everywhere on Dirt and the Moon, seeds of Discord started blooming. The time of reckoning was approaching.

------On Dirt: Before the Darkest Day------

The Aokoa Theocracy:
The Aokoa Theocracy grew strong, spared from the devastating effects of the Cataclysm. They kept expanding, getting stronger and more advanced. Life in the Theocracy was good compared to other lands, the dances and songs brightened up the days, and the fear of the God had made them unlikely to turn to crimes.

To satisfy the extravagant needs of the ruling casts, great effort was made into developping metallurgy and other forms of crafts. What ensued was a formidable boost in economy and knowledge.

+Technology: Advanced Metalworking/Metallurgy (Medieval-ish)
+Notes: Happy citizens
+Values: Despise crime

The Fachika Theocracy:
The Fachika Theocracy grew in an opposite direction. A power struggle emerged between the Gold Feather Priests, and the conflict caused the Fachika Religion to split into several branches. No civil war erupted, but the now Fachika Theocracies were unstable.

To make matter worse, contact with the settlements bordering the Torus Inner Sea was lost. Cryptic stories told of monsters emerging from the sea, and taking away everyone...

-Notes: Fractured and Fragile Power
-Notes: The Näcke Threat

The Alliance Remnants:
The Yearning Ruins came across the territory of the Alliance Remnants. The unstoppable wave, devouring all, was then confronted by Lifetwister and the weakened forces of the Alliance.

Yearning Ruin: [9]
Lifetwister: [8]
Yearning Ruin: [7]
Lifetwister: [5]
The Lifetwister has been struck down

Nothing could stop the rampaging Greater Monster. The Lifetwister was swallowed. The army of the Alliance was swallowed. The cities of the Alliance were swallowed. Only scrapes remained, the survivors maddened and afflicted by a burning Yearning...

The Alliance Remnants have disappeared, devoured by the Yearning Ruin.

The Kingdom of Maxin:
Arrival of Nicolai, Thousandtails and the House of the Rising Sun
A day the Maxinians wouldn't forget. The sky was clear, until a massive object obstructed the sun. The armies assembled, preparing to face this unknown threat...

And then two great beings appeared. Nicolai and the Thousandtails, harbingers of Foxmox.

House of the Rising Sun: [13]

The armies of Maxin vanished before the might of the House, crushed by the sonic blasts of the flying fortress. Number 38 who rules surrendered, and answered the orders of the Servants: to free the Sharp Foxes. And thus, the Sharp Foxes were brought to the House of the Rising Sun.

After they left, the Kingdom was left in a dire state. That was the first time the slaves saw their masters contested. The sparkling rebellion was quickly crushed by the swift action of the Zixni's loyal troops, but it came at a cost. The loss of manpower, as well as the resources expanded to crush the rebellion slowed the development of the nation.

The Dwarven Remnants:
Those of the Bastion:
Divine providence created a path to the Underground, leading the Dwarves to a paradise compared to the harsh surface. Food, water, a good climate. The Dwarves of the Bastion rejoiced, and thanked their God with all their hearts.

But a terrible tragedy struck the Dwarves. Weakened and exposed to this foreign environment, they were afflicted by a plague. The Underground Fever, while a normally benign disease, was devastating on a weakened immune system. No Dwarves of the Underground survived, leaving the Iron Servitors purposeless and distraught by the tragedy.

Even worse, a few days later the climate of Tarrant returned to what it once was...

The Nomads of the Surface:
Life was harsh on the Surface. The nomadic group of Dwarves barely managed to survive the unforgiving cold of Tarrant. And suddenly, the cold ceased, the clouds dissipated and the sun shone once more on Tarrant. The Dwarves first thought they all had died in their sleeps and reached the Fields of Kel, but no, it was indeed reality.

Forever grateful, the Dwarves of the nomadic group slowly started building a new civilization from scratch. They didn't encounter any Iron Servitors though...

The Näcke:
The Näcke, while not a civilization, devoured all the settlements bordering the Torus Inner Sea they came across. They stayed put there, for now, exploring the sea.

The Demons of the Lesser Sphere 1:
Demons of the Lesser Spheres are having wars over two-dimensional idols.

The Renewed Magic Empire of Darselav:
Darselav once fell, and by the will of Tachyon Everlord, Darselav shall rise again. As Talavars witnessed on this miraculous night, all the tragedy was undone.

He was walking, lost and broken in the charred remains of the Anchor. When suddenly, an incandescent blaze lit the skies. Warm, reassuring, divine. He saw the verdant plains returning, the lush forests singing once more, and the great palace of the Mage Emperor rising again. The greatest miracle came afterward.

He saw his friends, his family, all of his loved ones returning to life. Talavars was at a loss of words, a miracle was but a weak word to describe what he was witnessing. God, O God. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The once broken hero couldn't stop uttering those words, even as streams of tears rolled on his hardened face...

Darselav was back. And the knowledge that they had been saved from oblivion had changed the Drogos of Darselav. They worked with raging ardour, their gratitude overflowing. In a short time, the Empire returned to its glory, and more.

+Technology: Advanced Gemworking
+Religion: Zealous Faith (Tachyon Everlord)
+Values: We give our God gratitude

The Dexoth Dominions (Land)
The Dominions of the Land prospered thanks to their slaves. Uninterested by the Node Wars, they leisurely increased their influence and wealth. The Dexoths of the land lived like kings, and had the obsession to make their domain and its subjects prosper.

As such, despite their tyrannical rule, the enslaved Errthns enjoyed happy and comfortable lives. Later, the Dexoths of the Land started setting their eyes on the lands of the inner land, where other people were said to live. This ambition was pushed back, as the disappearance of several Dexoth rulers caused a small conflict to see who would take control of their lands.

------The Dexoth Ocean------

Maaltha'Rumyel
The Dominion of the Grand Lord was growing. With the power of the ultimate Node, Kor'Shugareth grew in strength, and his domain prospered. It seems the Dexoth had a grand plan, and for that, more power was needed. Kor'Shugareth gathered allies, managing a neverseen feat: rallying other Dexoths under his banner.

The ever-growing Dominion, Maaltha'Rumyel, was now the uncontested greatest mortal force of the World. Then soon after, Kor'Shugareth accompanied by Opera subdued Reefwalker, who then joined the cause of the Grand Lord.

The Dexoth Dominions (Ocean)
All Dexoths worried over the growing power of Kor'Shugareth. Yet none could do a thing, nor would attempt anything. The thought of allying against him would have never crossed their minds, and instead they kept waging Node Wars, losing foothold as Kor'Shugareth gained more.

Some Dominions were greatly weakened by an encounter with three formidable beasts, causing them to lose Node Wars.

------The Moon------

The Incilatro-Starborn Community
The blessing of lessened ruthlessness greatly changed the lives of the Incilatros and the Starborns. They recognized this as a sign from the Gods, and took this chance to grow and prosper. Under the guidance of Fyrma, the resources of the Community were redirected to understanding the world and the secrets of magic.

Their massive yet reckless advances in magic greatly damaged the environment, though that was the lest of their worries. With greater power and technology, their lives became more and more comfortable. When it became apparent their community was big enough to be called a nation, they renamed themselves the Magarians, from the name Fyrma gave to the island she fully charted: Magaria.

The Dexoth Dominions (Moon)
Along the Benevolent Dexoth, several Dexoths were sent to the Moon. The egoistical and proud Dexoths first raged knowing their kingdoms would now fall under the greedy hands of their kin. But this rampage stopped as soon as the blessing of Maex struck them.

Gathered together, they saw something. Something they couldn't ignore, and that overcame their ego and pride. The Dexoths of the Moon ended up allying with one common goal. To became kings, to rule, and to make prosper. And seeing what was about to come, they would need to stand together.

------Adventures of Great Beings------

Mavnon's journey:
Mavnon spread the world of a coming cataclysm, and a safe land called Tranullis. Many mortals listened her words, the others dismissed it as a jest. Maybe they were right, for all those who sailed for the Tranullis disappeared at sea, never reaching their destination.

On the other hand, Dexoths suddenly got their hands on a new supply of slaves.

Nikolai, Thousandtails and the House of the Rising Sun:
The first step of their mission a success, the Servants headed for the Fertile Continent. They watched for danger, making sure the Sharp Foxes would arrive safely to destination. No enemy stopped them, or so they though.

For the enemy was already within, the Sharp Foxes themselves, changed by the life under the Zixni of Maxin.

Julius' Quest: (OOC: Julius got the worst rolls of the entire game, ever)
Julius headed for the Moon, where he was to help the Mortals prepare for the incoming cataclysm. But the moment he reached the Moon, terrible visions assaulted him. He saw untold tragedy, he saw death and strife everywhere. The visions deeply marked Julius.

He felt powerless. He knew he could never really fulfill his mission. According to him, the mortals could not be prepared. Julius fell into despair, remaining on the Moon and waiting for the Cataclysm to come. He decided he would help and protect those who would survive.

Talavars:
Talavars' mind was healed, and he was now called Talavars the Witness.

Galina:
Somehow, Galina managed to evade the gaze of the Gods. The being vanished from the face of Dirt, managing to hide in an unknown location.

Tycho, the Platypus and the Catgoo:
The trio of friends decided to leave the Brumous Lake, wishing to discover the world beyond. They sometimes came across villages, playing with them and their inhabitants. The inhabitants and their houses making fragile playmates, they quickly lost interest in them after destroying a few settlements.

For some reason, they decided sailing the Dexoth Ocean would be amazingly fun. And so they sailed off on a boat made of the Platypus Mucus, kept afloat by the powers of Tycho. The Dexoth Ocean was full of fun and adventures, its giant inhabitants making great playmates. But for some reason, these new playmates stopped coming to play after a few sessions, leading the trio to wonder if they had vexed them somehow.

Tycho: 8
Platypus: 15
Catgoo: 9
The Mist: 7

There was a strange mist when they arrived to Tranullis. They had a fun dream, and that's it. Not dwelling much on it, they resumed their exploration of this new land...

The Yearning Ruin:
The Greater Monster continued rampaging, unopposed.

Reefwalker:
Reefwalker's tranquil existence came to an end as Kor'Shugareth came to control him.

Kor'Shugareth: [14]
Reefwalker: [5]

Reefwalker was subdued by the Grand Lord of the Ocean, and forced to become his vassal. The Dexoth convinced the Greater Servant, telling him how by becoming his vassal, he would be able to fulfill its purpose and more.

The Darkest Day

The flames of the Sun turned black. The Sun was now a black ball of flames, surrounded by a white halo. The World and the Moon was covered by an unnatural black light.

First, the Core of Dirt ruptured in two. The Core began fighting against itself, rejecting its other half. As this battle waged in the heart of the World, energies of Dirt started running wild and ferocious.

------First I said: "Wild Elements, unleash your might."------

------On Torus------

Once the Fertile Continent, now the Savage Continent:
The flow of the first Cataclysm had enriched the lands and beings of the Fertile Continent. The flow that changed the land was but a drop compared to the raging flow of the Darkest Day.

The plants and creatures of the Fertile Continent saw an unnatural, explosive growth. Unprecedented mutations, multiplied ferocity and strength, cunningness bordering that of sapience. The Fertile Continent was now riddled with an ecosystem composed only of Monsters. This is how it became the Savage Continent.

[The Sharp Foxes]
Nicolai, Thousandtails and the House of the Rising Sun arrived to their destination. The Savage Continent. Immediately the House was assaulted by legions of monstrous creatures. Swarms of giant and bloodthirsty insects, flocks of great predatory birds as well as wyverns and dragon-like creatures...

House: [16]
Nicolai: [10]+[1]
Thousandtails: [13]
Monsters: [4, 8, 10, 7, 5]

The endless assaults were pushed back without loss. Yet even with the calm returned, the House could not land. It remained in the skies, above the Savage Continent.

The Dexoth Ocean:

Just like the Fertile Continent changed, the Dexoth Ocean changed. The Nodes overflowed with limitless power, which for a time made the Dexoths cackle with glee. All this power for them! They then realized they couldn't control all this power, and that soon they would be consumed by it.

That is, if Kor'Shugareth didn't interfere. The Greater Dexoth had foreseen an anomaly in the Nodes, and foretold this surge of power. He had been preparing for a long time, ever since the Node first appeared. With his allies and preparations, he was ready.

Kor'Shugareth harnessed the spilling power of the Nodes onto himself and his loyal followers without having their bodies and minds destroyed. All of them were reborn stronger, but three beings of note stood out.

Kor'Shugareth had become an Anathema.
Opera had become a Monster, severing her link from X'arilyg.
Reefwalker had become a free Aspect of the Oceans, his God being long gone.
The Dexoths allied with Kor'Shugareth had all become Greater Abominations.

The Dexoths were terrified by the newfound power of Kor'Shugareth and his followers. They knew that a new era was at hand, and their time was long gone now.

Once the Land of a Thousand Chasm, now the Grand Abyss:

The Land of the Thousand Chasms ruptured, the land crumbling down the bowels of Dirt. After the first phase of the Darkest Day, only a single, massive Abyss bigger than Torus remained.

Once the Crystal Continent, now the Crystal World:

The reverse happened to the Crystal Continent, which overflowing with Dirt's energies, fractured into countless rising crystalline spire. A massive collumn covered in spikes thrust itself from the Crystal Continent, rising beyond the atmosphere of Dirt. Instead of a Continent, now rested some continental-sized crystal lotus higher than the tallest mountain.

Tarrant and the Anchor:

Thanks to the action of the Gods, Tarrant and the Anchor were spared of the Darkest Day's unchecked energies.

------On the Moon------

The protective blessing of Innanis Dominus protected the Moon from the Dark Sun. As if it were a live, violent beast, its black flames attempted to lick at the Moon.

------And I said: "Their sins and desires were always one."------

Everywhere across Dirt and the Moon, the curse of Hate plagued the minds of Mortals. Dissent and strife engulfed the world of mortals.

The Aokoa Theocracy and the Fachika Theocracies:
The Hate of the theocracies took the form of a great hate for all other religions not their own. Immediately the Fachika Theocracies splintered into civil war, and soon after the Aokoa Theocracy attacked them in the name of a holy crusade.

The incoming Holy War would be devastating.

The Kingdom of Maxin:
The Hate of the Kingdom of Maxin took the form of a great paranoia. From the rulers to the slaves, none trusted anyone anymore. The child backstabbed his parents, the servant killed the master and the master killed the servants.

The Kingdom of Maxin became riddled with conspiracies and plots. Slowly, order crumbled and madness spread.

The Dwarven Remnants:
The Hate of the Dwarves took the form of an unsatiable greed. For the sake of their greed, they would do anything. Sell a member of their family, betray their closest friend... Anything was acceptable.

The small community of Dwarves was going to consume itself.

The Demons of the Lesser Sphere 1:
The Hate of the DotLS1 worsened the ongoing "Waifu Wars".

The Renewed Magic Empire of Darselav:
The Hate of the Renewed Empire of Darselav took the form of a terrible fear of death. For the sake of staying alive, the Drogos of Darselav started turning to forbidden, heretical practices. Only Talavars was spared from the plague, and he undertook a pilgrimage to Ascension's Peak to seek a cure for his people.

In the meantime, sacrifices, inhuman experiments and more kept going on in Darselav.

The Dexoth Dominions (Land)
The Hate of the Dexoth Dominions only struck the Errthns slaves, whose Hate took the form of a loathing of their masters. They fomented rebellions and coups.

Soon, many would die for the rebellion, whether they would succeed or not.

Maaltha'Rumyel and the Dexoth Dominions (Ocean)
The plague of Hate wouldn't have usually affected the Dexoths. But the fear they felt toward the unstoppable Kor'Shugareth weakened them, opening the ways for the plague. Their fear was multiplied, and they started seeking for ways to oppose Kor'Shugareth, no matter the cost.

Magaria
The Hate of the Magarians took the form of a loathing for weakness and uselessness. Weak people were despised, shunned. Failure was unacceptable, and would only lead to repeating the errors of the past.

Left unchecked, the Democracy of Magaria would disappear soon.

The Dexoth Dominions (Moon)
The Dexoths of the Moon followed their visions, heading for Magaria to rule and prosper.

------Last I said: "There will be Good. There will be Evil. There will be Legends."------

Countless nameless Heroes appeared among the now cursed Mortals. Those with power quickly made good use of it, sending the world into further chaos.

The Aokoa Theocracy and the Fachika Theocracies:
The Seven Crusaders of Aokoa.
The Feathered Justicar of Fachika.
The Four Inquisitors of Fachika.

The Kingdom of Maxin:
Number 6 the Blood King.
The Unkillable Gremnear.
The Four Arms of the Blood King.

The Dwarven Remnants:
Urist the Survivor.
Obok the Butcher.

The Renewed Magic Empire of Darselav:
Sagarsius the Immortal Emperor and Xivel the Immortal Empress.
The Sorcerer of Death and its Six Dark Apprentices.
The Just Scale.

The Dexoth Dominions (Land)
The Eleven Bringers of Revolution

Magaria
The Sage of Magaria
The Fool of Magaria

These names will rise, and change the world.

"Murder, necromancy, slaughtering of the innocent... more work to be done."

Tachyon returns to the peak to answer the plight of the hero who has not been consumed by the ongoing madness of his people. Tachyon assures that the dead will find refuge in an afterlife designed for them while his servants, that are able to, will step down into the nation, protect what innocents they can from the forbidden arts, and enter the chambers of the rulers to discuss the situation of their nation.

(Spending essence on an afterlife plane for the Drogos and gathering the already perished souls to put into the said afterlife realm. If any of the souls do not have seeds of discord separate them and examine possibilities as what can be done to, at best, cure themselves of the seeds of discord.)

"I told you it wasn't going to work, Eris." "Whaaaat? Really? But-" "I don't even understand what part of it was evil or why you were trying to cause evil. What was the point of it? You're all about "chaos"' all of the time, but barely understand what chaos really is. Chaos is not doing random things for laughs." "...Got it." "Now it's my turn."

"Hey! Tachyon! Would you mind letting us visit the Darselav Empire? I think the Drogos are kinda neat and would like to visit them in person!" "We mostly just want to have a loor around to see the situation with our own eyes. We haven't had the chance to interact with mortals at all yet."

The dog behind the man behind the beard.
Immortality like that would be even more game breaking than four Aaron's in one place.
You're both so obviously scum that this is a surprisingly difficult decision.

”Your invasion is not welcome upon my home and domain, maex. Send them back to Dirt, or I will curse them and bring about the destruction of all dextroth kind, both upon Dirt and the moon.”

Commune with Fyrma, warning her of the curses that transpired and of the invaders of Maex. tell her to seek out the two cursed heros of Magaria, that i might change their cursed paths from destruction and stabilize Magaria.

Then, using one essence, Bless the magarians with a understanding that failure is part of a cycle to grow stronger, and to utilise their hatred of weakness to instead improve themselves.

"In its unstable situation? I suppose it makes sense for chaos to be attracted to other chaos. Roam as you wish among them; within reason. Do not cause them any problems. My servants will be near by for their mission and then wait for you two to depart at your leisure. We wouldn't want a second incident now would we?"

Another parting gift.

As the Primordial One left, a gate opened between what is and what isn't. The Divine Plane rumbled as a new Realm appeared.

"That... yes of course. I was going to... but that helps. It does. Seichō-on Kami, welcome."
