Ma'Rook had been long silent. His thousand mouths silent and his many hands moved silently in the distant dark. Time for Ma'Rook had both slowed. He would look away for a moment and the world had changed, centuries had passed, and civilizations had risen and fallen. Time was lost on Ma'Rook and he began to slowly change. With time perhaps he would remake himself to reflect better his new reality.
He looked down at his Dexoloths and was proud. The solitary abominations forged a great society separated by distance and connected through the power of their minds alone. Each one viewed themselves as greater than the rest and from this Ma'Rook knew greatness would find its way to the pinnacle of the civilization. Ma'Rook wanted more from them however, and after breaking an essence into two lesser essence, he blessed the region with an understanding of magic and science, increasing the ability of these great and terrible minds to understand these forces which drove the world.
Similarly, he looked at the werechickens and was happy with their strength and progress. They had come so far, far from their origins as mere foul fowls. he looked down at their civilization and decided that they had pleased him. He had once hated the chickens, but these had become more. He blessed their civilization so that the werechickens we're no longer birdlike in firm, but human in shape and quite large in size. They still retained main birdlike qualities such as wings and feathers and beaks, but the addition of arms and a humanoid body plan would allow them to flourish as a people, evolving from their humble roots.
Lastly Ma'Rook created a system of magic which only the Dexoths can use. Inside each Dexoth there is an innate pool of aether which refreshes quickly. This aether pool can be used to manifest all sorts of magical phenomenon.
Bless the Dexoths, bless the Werechickens, and create a system of innate magic for the Dexoths.
