Perpetual Energy BoreholeProgress: 5/14 (2)
Progress advances at a stately pace on the PEB project. Wait, now, not stately- that other word, stilted. Basically it's a divide between the people attempting to make sure the drive doesn't accidentally blow a loose thread in reality and the people trying to milk as much juice out of the thing as possible.
BOSS-EProgress: 6/22 (3)
The advancements on BOSS-E are a little better, but still slow due to the overwhelming precision required in the task.
Gaian Regime Expeditionary Assault Teams[Time: 6 Progress: 3 Cost: 5]
We have the men, we have the technology, all we have to do is re-write out doctrines a bit and iron-out the kinks to get them hopping between worlds. Also work out the kink where the droids respond to every command with
roger, roger, but we should be ready to deploy troops in no time.

Prototype[Efficacy: 4]
The GREAT regiments are born to a life of service, as most Gaians are in one way or another, and they excel at it. The biological marines themselves are strong, intelligent, and possessed of level head and keen judgement. Their arsenal is reasonably formidable, with the coilgun weaponry reducing ammunition load and providing good stopping power, while their armor is strong enough to shake of a hit or two, and the mechanical assistance keeps it mobile. The greatest feature, however, is the combat information suite accessible to each soldier. Passive electromagnetic sensors, limited active lidar, and sonic reconstruction allows a Gaian trooper a detailed picture of his environment in nearly any condition. Shared peer-to-peer, a Gaian soldier is never blind.
Their scarcity, however, is something of an issue. Their drone support makes up for this, but they lack the skill and combat intelligence of the soldiers themselves. While they wield the same weapons, carry the same armor, and can hypothetically move in
most of the same ways that a Gaian infantryman can, a team of droids commanded by Gaians is still inferior to a pure Gaian group. Still, they fill out a regiment and are invaluable aids in the front of manpower.
Gaian Regime Expeditionary Assault Teams: | 100O 350M 150E | A 1:3 mixture of gene-selected and full trained human marines and combat droid support. Droids and troopers are designed to have the same form-factor, so that weapons and armor can be shared freely, and precision targeting of the human element is made more difficult. Weapon package consists of coilgun weaponry in various sizes for primary assault, side-arm, and support roles. Armor is full coverage, layered metallic and ceramic, and with integrated assistance servos operating on battery power. An exceedingly detailed combat information suite provides tactical and terrain information to Gaian troopers in real-time, allowing them to make well-informed decision in nearly any circumstance.
"Shattergun" Magnetic Shrapnel Cannon[Time: 6 Progress: 3 Cost: 4]
The shattergun isn't the most complicated concept in the world. Space Shotgun powered by magnets. The primary concerns are making sure the payload doesn't interfere with the launch mechanism, and keeping the entire projectile balanced in order to assure relatively accurate fire. Still, it's simplistic work.
'Shattergun': 0/4 [2] | 20 Transplutonic + 150 Metals + 75 Energetics | Rushed 0 Times | Nothing Invested
Prototype[Efficacy: 3]
The Shattergun is an undemanding space shotgun, no more, no less. Both small and medium variants launch canisters filled with high-density shot, maintaining cohesion until a predefined point until an explosive disperses the shot. It's abysmal at punching through armor, but if it can hit a lightly armored or exposed area, the hundreds of sub-munitions can do a capable job of making an absolute mess of the target area. Her effective range is quite short, but her nature will allow her to act as reasonably effective point defense against missiles and small craft.
"Shattergun" Magnetic Shrapnel Cannon: | 0T 25O 75M 25E 0S | Native to Small Mount or Medium Mount | Capacity: -5 | Power: -4 | The Shattergun is a light and inexpensive coilgun, firing canisters packed with dense shot- detonating at a defined point in space to spray the target with shrapnel. Terribly at penetrating armor, but designed to wreak havoc components either exposed by necessity or by damage. Serviceable as a point defense cannon. The medium variant is significantly upscaled, capable of generating a cloud capable of intercepting multiple fighters or missiles, or sandpapering a much larger section of an enemy ship's hull.
