Currently, I feel that we should save all the dice for the revision phase. we have quite a bit that needs to be done in the revision phase, including fixing eye cancer, Making a cruiser template, Improving our industry, and making our evil eyes into PD.
I am waffling on whether we should put a dice towards revisiting of materials industry to be better as well or to improve something else with it, like making the node into a drone ship for an armoured frigate or making a spinal corvette variant for the val'den or Making the notes a little better.

We want to start a speed two boredrive. It'll take some turns to complete even if rushed so the sooner we start work on it the better.

We want to start a speed two boredrive. It'll take some turns to complete even if rushed so the sooner we start work on it the better.

The problem is what do we cut in revisions for it? it would cost 3 dice.
Do we cut the cruiser template, in which case we can't create a new cruiser this turn and are stuck with Corvettes?
Do we cut the evil Eye PD, Which we really do want to help counteract their fighters?
Do we cut the industry improvements in which case we are going to be struggling to make very many ships and keep up with all the territory they just grabbed?
Do we cut the curing void eye cancer? can we afford the possibility of our ships needing to fall back to controlled and uncontested territory every time the cancer pokes up at random?

We need 3 dice to start a design, And I really don't see 3 revision we can afford to cut this turn.

Quote from: Veil Piercer upgrade
A revision of the organic drive organ this improved organic structure uses exotic particles and telekinesis to open pathways through space. It directs and manipulates the exotic particles using a telekinetic organ that surrounds the main bore drive that is specialised to this task. This makes the veil piercer far more precise and potent, improving the time between jumps and the distance at which jumps can be made. Further additions based on the pulse detection organ give it improved means of feeling out the twisting and folding of space between itself and its target. This allows better and more intuitive calculations for the bore drive which should in turn greatly speed up calculations and make formerly difficult calculations to more distant points much easier. All in all, this should make a more expensive but speed 2 bore drive variant out of our existing organic bore drive
There's a few things I'd be willing to dump to get a better bore drive in the works. The two I'd choose to keep would be the new cruiser and PD eyes. However, allow me to offer this compromise; it's a speed 2 bore drive revision. It'll be harder than doing it as a design and will likely result in something more expensive but we'll get it now in time for the cruiser template if it works. And it means you only need to drop one dice from your plan. It's a risk. But we need a speed 2 bore drive. Especially since we're brawlers, the enemy having faster and longer jumps than us in combat might be an utter pain for us to deal with.

A revision to try and get speed two? That feels like a wasted attempt in the making. I really really doubt that is something we could make work, at least without massively increasing the power draw of our existing engine

We need a speed 2 bore.

Parameters:
Speed 2
Same size
Power not important.

Quote from: Veil Piercer bore drive
A upgraded and reengineered version of the organic bore drive organ this improved organic structure uses exotic particles and telekinesis to open pathways through space. It directs and manipulates the exotic particles using a telekinetic organ that surrounds the main bore drive that is highly specialised to this task. Lastly there are numerous optimizations made to the organ's existing architecture allowing for this new version to remain the same size. Target speed is 2
In my opinion starting a speed 2 bore drive is not optional. All those revisions are nice but I recall playing in spire race as Kasgyre having neglected a bunch of foundational techs which put us behind and I do not want to be in that situation again. We need a speed 2 bore, the more time passes the more we will need it. There will always be more revisions to do, more things to fix and improve but the sooner we start this the sooner it will be finished. Besides the plan is to turtle up for a few turns, we likely will have time to do those revisions you want. But none are as time sensitive as the bore drive.

3 dice to veil piercer bore dribe, save 2 for revision, Scrap Advanced synthetic biology (1): Frostgiant

Advanced synthetic biology is 4/16 and progressing at 1, it is not that useful and we arn't going to spend dice rushing. We get 1-3 for scrapping it meaning we can get our revisions and the speed 2 engine as well.
If we don't scrap, I'll put my vote back for spend no dice.

We just need to make sure we specify our snthetic research stuff a bit more going forward.

Veil Piercer
[Time: 3 Progress: 4 Cost: 5]
The work on the Veil Piercer is a highly theoretical endeavor, pulling in some of the eldest and most experienced of the Liiran geneticists, bore physicists, and psionicists. While the undertaking is in no way small, the group works with the harmony of a united purpose- and the knowledge that the others who swim in the black already have this edge.

Veil Piercer: 0/15 [3] |  50T +350O + 25M + 100E + 20S | Rushed 0 Times | Nothing Invested

Prototype
[Efficacy: 4]
The Veil Piercer will be an effective addition to the organs of any of the larger vessels- and while it offers up no unexpected breakthroughs, it fully meets expectations. Matching the formfactor of the original bio-bore, the Veil Piercer has slightly increased power requirements in exchange for fielding a greatly enhanced biological bore geometry computation system -essentially a giant brain with one purpose and one purpose alone- as well as a powerful telekinetic organ designed to affect minute and exotic particles in order to both control an existing aperture and to stabilize local spacetime in order to make the formation of an aperture less complex.

Veil Piercer Bore Drive: | 100T 150O 25M 150E 30S | Capacity: -15 | Power: -90 | Speed 2, transports an equipped ship of up to Cruiser size |  An enhanced biological bore drive, utilizing a powerful computation mind a telekinetic organ together to rapidly calculate bore paths and stabilize local space in order to make fast, efficient jumps.

Scrapping Advanced Synthetic Biology: 2 dice refunded.

Quote from: Curing Eye cancer
We cannot afford to take ships off of the line in order to remove cancer when it appears, we do not have enough time or ships to set up such a rotating fleet deployment. as such we will need to remove the cancer. This is a rather simple task for our strandweavers, manipulating the underlying DNA in order to remove this flaw.

We have 3 options for cruiser templates.
We can template the Herd leader, but I don't think we need to do that yet, as we have 2 for every spot we expect to see combat this turn.
We can template the undying, which is a Cruiser with 15 evil eyes, 12 Psionic spines and 21ish layers of carapace. My personal favorite
We could template the Primal hunter, 15 Evil eyes, 12 psionic spines, 14 layers of carapace along with 2 mind jammers and a pulse organ. Good Vs hivers, probably bad vs gaians since they use robots in there fighters.
