Telepathic data banks
[Efficacy: 4]
While the core of the nexus is left all-but unchanged by the weavers in charge of the project, as it stands as a complex centerpiece that should not be tampered lightly, a number of auxiliary minds have been added to great effect. With little power in and of themselves, the minds provide a commander access to reflexive thought patterns- effectively giving an instinctual grasp of the psionic signals necessary to control the minds of sub-craft. More, a significant portion of each mind is reserved so that each commander can use the minds as temporary buffers or imprint his own quick-reference psionics. While this would be a bewildering sensation for the untrained, it allows Liiran commanders to control a much great number of subcraft before they begin to truly exert themselves.

The drawback, however, is that these data banks only provide psionic functions- and do little to actually augment the power of the control nexus. Effectively, this provides an initial bonus to how many ships the first nexus allows a commander to control, but does not improve additional sub-nexus functions.

Telepathic data banks: A series of sub-minds designed to provide mental buffer space and quick-reference psionics to a Liiran fleet commander. Improves the base command score of the nexus by 8, but has no effect on additional nexus banks.

We've made them wait long enough. It's time we made our entrance preferably in a manner that deals as much damage as possible before they start adapting to our tech. Full Bore is the best option I think.

Agreed that its time to attack, Not sure I want to put 3 cruiser to an offensive when only 2 can fit in our CNC cap at a time. Keep 1 herd leader back for now.

There is no point at leaving a herd leader in Foxtrot unless we plan on having him defend in case of attack, which they are very unlikely to succeed if a major force is sent, and we will probably return the fleet from echo anyway.

"Violence. That ancient horrid thing isstirring among the stars again. The Discordant Choir and the Lost are at war and we the Singers listened. The Discordant refused and continues to refuse to recognise the Lost as sentient and deserving of life. They kill them without remorse or pity. For their part, the Lost proclaim a genocidal crusade against the Discordant. They blame them for the loss of their homeworld, for the tragedy that cast them into the cold void and made them the Lost. Neither side will listen to reason, both demand the genocide of the other. We have seen enough genocide, we have caused enough genocide. The harmony of our choir is clear; we will not cause another one through inaction. We will intervene and stop this war from wiping out one or both factions. The Singers shall turn our ships into the black, we shall swim the void and our waters shall extinguish these flames!" -an elder's song prior to Liir intervention.
A quick lore piece inspired by some of the stuff that was talked about on discord about the gaians being close to extinction.

Fae bioform caretakers – The first children

Sapience is a funny thing. It is the ability to look in a mirror and say, That is Me. It is the ability to look at the world around and Understand and the ability to decide to strive for further understanding.

Sapience is a strange thing, caused by a random mutation in the brain structure that made everything just… CLICK together to create the miracle of Sapience.
The Liir can agree, Their greatest crime was the destruction of so many of these miraculous little changes of chance all at once. The Genocide of 43 sapient species.

This crime will stain us forevermore.
None but the Liir will remember the Snake-like Cren, brought low during the early days of Suul’kan conquest and their jungle-esque home reduced to a toxic pit via orbital bombardment.
None but the Liir will remember the Uttik and their hundred vines, barely crawling out from the ages of bronze and steel before having heavy chains of Titanite-alloy clamped around their Brain stalks.

None but the Liir will remember the old songs of the Imnoids, who’s bird like bodies had possessed lungs capable of shattering stone and producing vocal songs that are without compare even with the Liir mastery of biological creation.

They and over 40 others remain only in the memories and works of the liir, with the planets upon which they resided reduced to kindling for the [Horror] and the orbital stations upon which they were chained jettisoned into the sun in desperate attempts to stop the spread of the virus.

The First children will be an attempt by the Liir to lessen this crime, at least by a little. A Sapient species, brought into the world in order to treat and tend the wounds of liir and bioforms alike.
Perhaps one day, the Liir will be able to lessen the crimes committed via bringing new life to the galaxy, to replace that which they had so desperately burned away.

The First children, here on referred to as Faeries are small humanoid figures, with insect like wings on their backs that clock in at 10 inches tall.
Such a body would normally be incapable of housing a large enough brain for sapience, let alone be capable of the require feats of telepathy and telekinesis that will be required of them. As such a rather… elegant solution was found. Instead of housing all of their brain mass inside of the fearies body, it will be divided.

Part of the brain, That which provides the Fea sapience, will be stored within their cranial cavity, as all creatures do. This brain will be very dense for brain tissue, in order to provide the necessary processing power to provide rational thought and sapience in a 10 inch tall humanoid frame.
The fairy will also possess a sort of telepathic organ, connected to a Home tree, this home tree will be a large plant form, and within the heavily armoured bark of its outer layers will reside many, very dense brain tissue. Every bit of brain tissue is then divided up between the feary’s song or “Court” as the primary leader of that hive, The queen, decides. This brain tissue is almost nothing but batteries for psionic energy.
Through this method, it allows a feary to exert powerful telekinetic and telepathic feats, outside the bounds of what would normally be possible for their brain mass to body mass index to accomplish.
if necessary, the Court/Song leader is capable of portioning the processing power of the brain tree as required,  Ranging from every feary in a hive being capable of lifting a fully grown note, to a single feary being more then capable of ripping apart of val’den with their mind.

Feary biology is interesting, and does not truly posses binary genders. Instead, the Hometree produces feary seeds. These seeds, when eaten provide the necessary genetic material for the faery to reproduce.

These seeds when planted and cared for will instead grow into a new Hometree, allowing faarys to “Align” themselves to the new tree, and creating a new court.

While the idea of creating new sapient species to make up for the past crimes of our species is truly and magnificent one, we are at war and as such our resources cannot be diverted to research projects that will not benefit such.

From the initial test groups that were created and educated inside of liir bioforges, Their was a startling number a volunteer fea that were willing to undergo training in order to fight during the war. While saddening to the scientist who has helped raised these volunteers, it is in the end their choice as a sapient being to fight with us if they so desire. As such, Attachment regiments for deployment onto hostile planets via Gestation bay have been formed. The small size of a faery and the portable nature of Hometree seeds enables the to be stored in the same sized space as a regular regiment.

While the faery body is truly a wonder, it alone is not capable of surviving the battlefield of today. As such, Each faery will be equipped with a symbiotic suit. This suit acts as armour and environmental gear, allowing the faery in question to survive incredibly hostile terrain as well as protecting their small bodies from the pressure waves and explosives common on the battlefield, not enough to survive a true blow of course but enough that they would not be killed merely by backblast.

On the ground, faery attachments perform two roles.
The first role is as sapient officers, directing the Notes in the field to better their ability to fight against an intelligent enemy.
Their small size and considerable Psionic ability lends then a great deal of survivability during battle, especially when mixed in with the countless forms of the Notes.

Their second role is taking advantage of their small size, ability to fly in order to act as scouts and special operations forces. Their small size and powerful psionic abilities lend them well to be able to sneak past enemy sensors, as well as keeping eyes on any form of enemy advance from the shadows.
When the faery has the misfortune to be caught in close range combat from which they cannot escape, their powerful telekinetic abilities truly shine.
Manipulation of the environment, kinetic bolts, crushing wave and even the creation of a "vacuum" inside of the enemy. While the faery's are delicate due to their small size, psionic powers care not for the physical body of a being, and is purely the wrath of the mind.

Black market tech idea

"Rune Stone"
A unique piece of technology created by a civilization that could be compared to the bala'ka'liir in its entirety, these gemstone looking pieces of minerals and circuits are designed to channel psionic energy in order to complete preset "programs" as the rune stone in question has been designed for. These Stones are capable of doing such feats as creating massive lightning bolts from nothing, creating thermal energy orbs capable of reducing metal to slag or creating complex telekinetic manipulations through the equivalent of a shortcut, pulling moisture from the atmosphere in order to create constructs of crushing cold and weight or deathly blades of rushing liquid.
As some can guess, these stones that are capable of transforming psionic energy into variable, repeatable and computer-esuqe in the function is quite the unique and interesting proposition. With our ability to create organic brains dedicated to the creation of psionic energy, these rune stones that are capable of creating a wide variety of a phenomenon will be very useful.

Black Market Ideas:

Dis-Ingenerator:
The Dis-Ingenerator is a technology designed to harvest energy from its surroundings, attempting to harness the energy inherent in high energy states and draw them into a highly potent battery

The Bent Bridge:
They found us somehow, and some have theorized that they bent space to do so- we have recorded spatial anomalies on our borders for some time now. But what if we learned how? By harnessing the anomalous readings from our outposts, we aim to learn the underlying principles of bending the fabric of physical space.

Edit: Credit to those in discord for ideas.

Man of Paper's Supersweet Totally Doable Black Market Proposals:

Singularity Drives

Singularity Drives are miniature black holes within an engine system designed by a species so far removed from Liir that they would never recognize one another as existing even if they stood beside one another. An Entanglement Field is used to both contain and direct the black hole's energy, using it's peculiar gravity-warping effects to propel a ship through space. Notably, Singularity Drives create a "wake" behind them in the form of rippling gravity fields. These temporary anomalies warp space enough that they can alter the trajectory of photons, distorting or completely erasing any attempts to see through it, as well as creating massive anomalies on other more advanced methods of observation and detection.

HONK

Obtained from a civilization with an amazing stubbornness and will to build (and destroy through infighting) space stations across their controlled space, the HONK managed to survive their self destruction.

The Hauptschüler Ohne Nennenswerte Kenntnisse, or All Students Without Significant Knowledge, according to "translators" of this "lost" "species", is a sonic emitter tuned to disrupt brain waves, often resulting in varying degrees of memory loss, may lead to a comatose state, and will rarely result in irreversable, debilitating brain damage. The sonic emitter fires off in loud short bursts, and even with proper protection can be very annoying.

Fractal Eyes

By sizing up the evil eye, refining the nictate lenses, and doubling the lower supply with improved musculature, a medium mount sized PD evil eye array with minor anti-ship ability is made

Happy Tidings

By adjusting the railgun mount brains to trigger a larger range, displacement focused blast, we create a potent anti fighter blast cannon that triggers on proximity explosion.

The Wall of Remembrance

There is a mountain under the sea on Va'Laara, next to the center of Liiran civilization. However, the sides of the mountain are unusually smooth.

This is where the names are carved. The names of each and every sentient being lost, to the best of Liiran ability. This mountain was long ago filled, the war of the suul'ka having long ago taken uo each meter of space on it. But now new mountains start to be carved, as Hiver drones and Gaian names are etched into rock even as they are memorialized in song. There is a cost to this war, and it is not just borne by us. 8 corvettes joined the list this day: while not sentient, e brought them into this world for war. And they died for it.

FOREWORD: Haven't actually made a proposal before, or honestly paid attention to much more than discord + combat reports, so if I got something wrong rules, mechanics, or fluff wise, let me know so I can fix it.

Man of Paper's Megacool Regular Proposal

Ch'if Fly Swarm

Created purely to protect our more valuable, vulnerable ships, the Ch'if Fly Swarm is stored within a nest within the ship. Completely blind and totally reliant on the ship for both sustenance and guidance via psionic link, Ch'if Flies willingly sacrifice themselves to protect their homes by the hundreds. They deploy through hardened sphincters to prevent foreign objects from flying directly into the exit hole the size of a womp rat.

The flies themselves are covered in a black shiny carapace and can survive in the void of space without issue. Their body contains a number of sacs that produce pressurized gas that allows the fly to move freely and rapidly in zero-g environments. They don't have wings, but the spray from back sacs can resemble them temporarily before the particulates disperse. Their legs end in sharp sword-like protrusions to allow them to grab onto any solid object stupid enough to get close to the swarm

While individually very weak, a Ch'if swarm is a very dense mass of countless bodies in constant motion, and psionic organization makes them fairly effective.

Notably, a Ch'if can willingly overpressurize itself, forcefully exploding at will. They are programmed to do this after latching onto an object, such as a missile or fighter, and their pop is capable of compromising hulls and setting off explosives prematurely.

Ch'if are all linked to the queen that births them. The Ch'if Queen never leaves the nest, but serves an extremely important purpose: she requires nutrition in the form of inorganic goods - specifically, metals. She is designed to break down and digest a wide variety of metals in order to fuel asexual reproduction. Ch'if Flies will bring scrap back to their queen to bolster their numbers, and any waste she cannot digest passes through her body harmlessly and could be picked through for valuable materials (that is, nonmetal resources she tried to eat).

Ca'Rab'Dae Defensive Beetle Nest

The Ca'Rab'Dae are (child-sized) chitinous beetles that come in a wide variety of metallic colors. Their six legs end in hardened, sharp claws capable of puncturing steel, and large mandibles provide immense cutting and crushing power. They view the ship their nest is housed within as their home, and will protect it at any cost. When a threat is detected Ca'Rab'Dae will flood out of ports in the ship's body and create a defensive perimeter. Using internal gas-producing sacs they are able to propel themselves through the void with great ease.

The Ca'Rab'Dae are frightening when agitated, lashing out at both incoming fire and ships in a furious frenzy.

The nest itself can also be considered alive. Ca'Rab'Dae obviously cannot breed, however we have designed the nest to be capable of breaking down biomatter and "birthing" new beetles. Efficiency of biomatter conversion is designed to decrease without Liir medical intervention, an unfortunate necessity to ensure they do not grow uncontrollably. Ca'Rab'Dae are conditioned to return their own corpses and those of their opponents to the biopools for dis- and reintegration.
