Do not brush with lingering contact. Stop trying to intentionally be awkward.

Making sure to avoid unnecessary awkwardness in what is already a frankly bizarre situation, you take the paper towel and open it up. Inside is a big, wicked-looking black claw and a long, yellow-white fang. No orange sparks.

Well, probably because they're in the paper towel. Try poking with bare finger.

You poke the claw and the fang with your finger, eliciting another slightly grossed out look from Roger but still no orange sparks.

"Huh. Maybe it's just the human leftover parts, and not the werewolf parts?"

"Maybe... maybe it's like responds to like? Or maybe I didn't grab enough pieces?"

Hmm. You notice the golden hour light through the windows is quickly becoming more neutral morning light. You should probably get going soon, if you want to get ahead of other drivers. There's probably time to do maybe one more thing here though.

"Well I should probably get back to my job. Sorry again if I brought up anything weird. Also if you need a lift anywhere then feel free to call me or if you even just need someone to talk to about... all this. This is a stressful situation your in so I can understand if you need to get your thoughts or feelings out sometimes. I mean at least that's how I'd feel if this was happening to me."

I mean I don't think we as the person we're playing would take that with us. Especially after our reaction to just his sparking human teeth.

You hand back the paper towel and its contents, Roger accepting them somewhat dubiously. "Well, I should probably get to my job now. Sorry again if I brought up anything weird."

"No worries. Hard to avoid, given circumstances..."

You nod. "Feel free to call me if you need a lift, or just someone to talk to about... all this. It's gotta be a stressful situation, so I can understand if you need to get your thoughts or feelings out sometimes. At least, that's how I'd feel if this was happening to me."

Roger smiles. "Thanks again. I'm glad to have made your acquaintance..."  he gives you an awkward look. "...er, Elia, was it?"

"Yep. Elia Opal. Take care now, Mr. Williams."

"Will do. And, good luck today!"

You wave goodbye and step outside. Huh. Seems you've made a friend. Not a bad way to start off the day. Getting into your car, you check your phone as the engine sputters to life. Hey, seems there's a few calls already, and not a whole lot of other drivers around. Looks like you've got a few to choose from:

* Mathew Henderson, going from outside the local retirement home to a bus stop outside the city limits.

* Petra Farooqi, going from the community center to the bank.

* Pat Kressener, going from a different bus stop to a hotel.

Briefly consider the possibility that all of these people are various flavors of supernatural creature because we're now cursed, put that out of our mind, and pick Mathew.

I was also going to suggest Mathew Henderson.

I remember hearing Glass talk about something called "Old Man Henderson" before. Is that who he's visiting? :P

(Also, it occurs to me that I never gave y'all the chance to decide Elia's gender. So I guess you can do that if you want)

You decide to go collect Mr. Henderson. The retirement home isn't that far away, after all. After a few minutes you pull up in front of "Graceful Oak," a wide, one-storey building like someone poured out a large puddle of house. It's surrounded (funnily enough) by pine trees. Out front is a man with dark skin wearing a very sharp grey suit and a matching hat, who approaches your car. He's got the kind of smooth-shaven face that could be nearly any age. "Hello," he says with a polite smile. "Are you my driver?"

"If you're Mathew Henderson," you reply.

"That I am! Would you prefer I sit in the back or the passenger seat?"

(Female, I'd assumed.)

"Passenger seat."

Elia is usually a male name, actually, so I assumed the opposite...
