Declare.
Wow, lots of activity!
Declare
-snip-
Big boom stick of dedliness coming thru
You might want to export your pixel art as .png instead of .jpg, as .jpg has a nasty habit of corrupting images.

The lift lowers and opens with a soft ping.

The reactor drains further, revealing the horrifying face of some crab/squid like creature. It begins regenerating limbs and claws.
hopefully no space cultists show up!

The harvester tears more materials up from the laser turret, and continues its construction.
(edited the missile a bit to look less jpg, Leodanny can fix it on his turn.)

Well shit this is what I get for signing off for a full day, and I'm going to be out for a while today as well... I'll try to get a turn out fast, probably going to speed up my armies actions in this case.

Was hoping we can drop the immersion jarring "Placeholder?" text.

here we go, I kept the removal of the "placeholder" in a specific layer, so I could put it back if desired.

The drones construction progresses rapidly through the construction of the object, quite apparently some sort of computer, an AI to be exact, the network receiver for an AI that had recently went rogue and overran a different station.

And its construction finishes, the drone turning away immediately to deconstruct the glass fragments on the ground, and move outside to build a hatch on the window for easy access to space. The AI hub meanwhile flashes to life, displaying an aggressive face as what little matter the core was given to work with begins to worm its way into the station, slowly patching it into the network. It started with the room it was built in, and then the room above, where it began to test its connection, both to the hub that was built for it and the station it had patched into, by turning the camera to face the door of what was presumably a cell, as said door was remotely opened.

The reactor however, drained further, revealing some sort of glowing core to the creature, undoubtedly what allowed it to power a station, and its right arm, now freed somewhat from the liquid keeping it subdued, began to grow into a deformed, tentacular shape, that looked mismatched with the rest of its body.

The purple cube deduces this is a bioweapon. It was disguised as the power core to mask the meaning of its' high energy emissions.

...Also. The purple cube may not have triggered the release sequence, but, something else...

"Begin Test 666"?

Declare.

The waking creature busts through the casing of the stasis chamber with it's freed hand, smashing the glass and reaching toward one of the passing elevators. It's many eyes glint with malice and the unstable fury of a cornered animal. Inside, the Skitarii can hear shattering tempered glass as well as the sound of alarms and grow concerned. Their neural implants prevent the rangers from feeling afraid or curious, but the Tech-Priests overseeing the operation from the command ship begin threat assessment and alter their simulations to include this unknown variable. They ride the elevators to the top floors of the station to take the bridge. The skull probe is redirected to enter the ventilation system and find a way to the source of the commotion.

Declare.

The elevators zoom away from the reactor room, but even as they leave, the riders can hear the roar of the beast as its clawed arm smashes through more glass. Its tentacle clamps against the glass and grasps at the cube.

Having scavenged all they can from the laser turret, the interlocker troupe advances into the docking bay. Immediately, they spot the floating skull, prompting the newly built scout to charge forward. The drone leaps on top of the scout, unweaving its chassis and fusing with the it. A gun barrel starts forming on the side of the drone, and its two appendages link with the scout.

As the rogue AI's control of the rooms grows, the emitters on the furniture take on a red hue.

"Specimen was grown from a residue left on trans-planar equipment. Grew to squid like form for locomotion. Became highly active in close proximity to a certain depressed staff member. Especially when expressing pain, helplessness, and rage. Repeating these tests, subject's shape became more humanoid in time.

Test Cases:
001: Success - All known human and animal diseases.
002: Success - Extreme heat and cold exposure.
003: Success - Mutilation to sub cellular level.
004: Success - 1 human scientist.
005: Success - Vacuum of space.

Declare

The rangers disembark from the turbo-lifts prepared for a fight, but find this area as deserted as the hangar. The Skitarii Alpha holsters his arc pistol for the moment, dropping a piece of equipment on the floor of the room which emits sparks of energy. It is a fragment of archeotech, a one way teleportation stabilizer beacon for moving equipment and personnel over moderate distances. Aboard the Syrinx, an Enginseer and a cache of supplies are loaded into the teleportarium.

The other rangers move out to secure the adjacent areas of the control center. The Omnispex operator scans for life but finds the immediate area devoid of any signals other than their own. The four escape pods in the main atrium appear un-launched, begging the question: Where is the crew? Moment by moment, the station begins to look like a baited trap rather than a fortuitous discovery.

Sealed in by the blast doors, the extra-dimensional creature appears to be contained for now. Whoever built the enclosure appears to have known it's strengths and built an adequate fail-safe. However; the beast is not content to be locked away again now that it is fully conscious.

Alright, NOW declare.

The drone, having finished constructing the hatch, re-enters the station and begins clinically deconstructing some of the the furniture in the room to replenish its supply of matter.

The AI meanwhile, detecting movement in the nearby elevator going up to the floor above, decides to take some preventative measures to defend itself. It moves its connection out towards the elevator room, and starts to work on making the elevator unable to stop at the floor it is on, however, since that will take some time and more matter than its current paltry supply, it chooses to just prevent the door from opening as a temporary measure. It also does the same to the brig door on the floor above. It's drone, receiving new orders, begins to use its newly replenished RCD to construct a simple laser turret on top of the core.

Meanwhile, a strange light starts to glow from within the chamber containing the beast, power building slowly, it's ever so faint, but it is there.

I do Declare.

The interlocker drone's barrel fully extends and with three resounding blasts, sends three shots at the fleeing skull.

Above them, the containment chamber is dented by the monster inside slamming its claw against the door.

Fresh prince of declare

A flash illuminates the gray hall as a tech priest, a servitor, and a second servo-skull are teleported into the structure. The servitor is armed with a shoulder las-gun for defense, but built for manual labor. It carries a crate with spare power cells and an assortment of tools. The Techpriest Auxilla is the chief engineer aboard the Syrinx. He is known as Gustav Brackman, a veteran mechanic skilled at keeping the relic technologies of the Imperial navy working despite their age and often mismatched designs. He relishes the opportunity both to escape the confines of his engine room and learn about this alien installation. As the trio appears, shots are fired in the hangar bay. The Skitarii riflemen and the squad's sargeant get back inside one of the elevators, leaving the Enginseer and the fourth ranger behind as they react to the Interlocker's attack.

Trapped, the creature continues to test the strength of the cell. Dents spread from the metal surface of the shutter and a crack begins to form on the outer beam. Strange bright light continues to escape from the seal of the outer case. Bullets ricochet off the ceiling of the hangar, giving the creature even more cause for irritation. The probe that had been unscrewing the grate over the air duct turns to see a number of spider-like metal droids charging for it and gunfire whizzing past. It takes some semblance of cover behind a dome shaped outcropping hanging off the roof of the loading bay.
